Sky Class Boarding and Luggage

I have 3 questions. If I am staying in a Sky Class room, do we get escorted on the ship, or do we walk on by ourselves. Second, do suit guest have a special porter that takes the bags directly to the room? And lastly do I still need to print out luggage tags? Thanks!

There will be a dedicated suites boarding line at most ports, but no escort onto the ship.  No special luggage porters for Sky Class.

As for luggage tags, you don't have to print them out. The porters can handwrite them if you aren't able to print your own.

Ensure the porter puts the correct Deck # along with the correct cabin #.   On some ships the cabin # does not start the same as the Deck.  I had a porter write Deck 16 because that’s what my cabin # started with but we were deck 10.  Thankfully I paid attention.

Luggage tags are available to print about 30 days out.  Why wait for a porter to do (perhaps incorrectly) what you can take care of beforehand.

I concur.  I have seen people standing in queues waiting for a porter to hand write a luggage tag. 

I walk past them, drop my pre-tagged bag off and beat them all into the terminal.

I think it’s wise to affix the tag as well, saves time and no room for human error. But

You have not met my neighbor, she doesn’t own a printer.

In my case when I had to use the porter it was because we had an extra person joining us, so we did not have a  luggage holder for her.-gave her my holder to use.   I wasn’t playing with trying to affix a  printed paper to a bag for a flight then cab to the port or travel with tape etc to do it  and opted for the handwritten tag.

Its always good to know there is a choice of the porter to do a tag.  It definitely slows the passenger down.  It’s amazing how many people don’t know there are tags to be printed and affixed, or if they do know have some sort of an issue.  .  It always comes up in the groups for  each of my sailings “we have to print tags? How?”.  I agree with @twangsterIm typically walking by to get on the ship while others are getting tags affixed.

30 days out from the cruise we received a massive package in a pdf that included tons of information regarding the cruise. Luggage tags were included. The very end of your booklet contains the information about the luggage tag which are....

When your documents are ready, you can access them through the website when you are logged in.  When you're looking at your list of cruises, there's a link that states View more details.  Your documents (eDocs) will be available there when they are ready.  The luggage tags are in the eDocs. Sometimes there even will be a separate link to the luggage tags.

I just looked around in the app and did not see any luggage tags to be able to print.

I've never seen luggage tags in the app. 

A travel agent can email the cruise docs to you upon request and those will contain the luggage tags or you can log into the website and access them from the Royal website.

My dear TA mails a copy of the documents along with luggage tags in plastic holders and a few “goodies” to use on board about 3 weeks prior to sailing.
