  1. To add to this, I tested out this theory as it have long suspected it. On our last cruise, we were Star class so we went all specialty, for the most part. I can confidently say that CK rivals all specialty, and is even better for some dishes. And places like Chops, Chef’s table, and 150 CP have the same dishes that CK has. @Matt I feel like we need a #teamCK shirt here!! ?
  2. @cpgecko We tried the Ultra spacious ocean view cabins (1K) on Independence. See my Indy blog (link in signature below) for pics and how I felt about that cabin. It is great for a family, however, careful which deck you pick as not all the rooms in that category are laid out the same. Make sure you take a look at the specific cabin as some have more privacy than others (door vs curtain) to split the bunk area. Not sure about the layout on Oasis class ships. But overall, you cannot lose with that cabin as it has way more space than the typical. You’re basically getting suite square footage for a fraction of the the cost of a suite. As far as which ship, I agree with @twangster on this one. Which port is it easier for you to get to? Oasis will be amped by then so her amenities will likely come really close to Harmony. You can’t really go wrong with either ship so I would let departure port and itinerary decide for me in this case:
  3. So happy that you are blogging this one! I cannot wait to see the pictures from this sailing! Both the ship and Alaska.
  4. Haha...you two obviously still don't know me well. Two reasons why you would never see me in that water: 1. I hate wet sand so I never get into the water at the beach. 2. I am a germaphobe and not a fan of animals. The thought of some fish or whatever coming right up to me in the water makes me run fast. @Matt would get that ?
  5. Two great suggestions already! I would be all for STOMP and Blue Man Group!
  6. He's our guy for the Anthem GC. I'll let you know. He is supposed to be awesome. Fellow Canadian and a Leafs fan.
  7. Voyager class - salt water Freedom & Oasis class & Quantum class - fresh Other classes - no clue
  8. You may or may not see it in the cruise planner. Even if you did see, it doesn’t allow you to make reservations. Wait for your concierge email. That’s the way to go. When are you sailing Oasis? I’m on March 15, 2020.
  9. There was post about this a few weeks back: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/12307-miami-hotels/&tab=comments#comment-118536
  10. My dad had an episode on our last family cruise where he required medical attention on board. He was brought downstairs (assisted) and a few tests were run for his heart. No medication was prescribed. The bill by the end of the night was $850.
  11. Yes, our girls went with us before. We see kids in there all the time. Some are supervised, some are not.
  12. If you go by what they have done the last few years, probably Nov/Dec this year they will release for summer 2021.
  13. Nope. Chalk that up to wonky Royal IT. Concierge services go to category VP, and GS and above on Voyager class ships. I have noticed too on certain mock bookings that it does not show up for GS. But it is included. That I am sure of. See this PDF as well from Royal. VT_VP_VO_Suite_FAQ.pdf
  14. On Allure you can get a similar version at the champagne bar. It is called the Cucumber martini. At 150 they use lemongrass.
  15. Yes, like the @CGTLH already mentioned, the suite lounge (connected to CK) has a pretty full bar. Love that atmosphere there.
  16. @SweetPea Thank you for such an entertaining blog! Glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience. Hopefully it does not take you too long to get back into those jeans. ?
  17. The suite sundeck on Oasis class is better than the one on Anthem in that there is a bit more seating and there is a bar. Also there are a few cabanas (except SY) that you might be able to grab if you don't like the sun. I don't those are on Anthem? You should have no issues getting seats. I have never found the suite sundeck to be crowded on a sea day or port day. I have never sailed NCL Haven class but the Yacht Club on MSC had the best suite sundeck, IMO. They had cabanas, ample seating, a pool, and a bar/restaurant. You literally could stay there all day. So convenient. You normally need a reservation for CK but if you are SC, I found that they could squeeze you in, even last minute. Just let your Genie know. Don't miss the filet on Night 1! Best one, better than Chops! Our experience on HM was that we did not even need our Genie. They seemed to know on embarkation day already that we were SC. One time they were completely packed for breakfast and I told the kids to go to the WJ. Right away they offered to send the food to our suite. It was delivered in less than 10 min.
  18. Ok +1 for the dining package then since it has changed to unlimited ?
  19. It is listed on the all the cruise planners on the ships that have CK, regardless of the cabin type. Anything JS and above, and it shows up. I have not had luck booking online for any of my bookings. I have one in a JS, the rest are GS and above. I just assumed it is one of those RCL IT glitches.
  20. ^^^ This is one of my main reason for blogging! D10 and Hubby both mentioned after my Anthem blog that it served as a great memory. Looking forward to your blog! And I am never going to live down that early start am I? ?
