Grand Suite on Anthem of the Seas
RestingBird replied to Lovetocruise2002's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Did you lose Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock? I slept on a roll away for 7 nights, in a motel in Utah, about 10 years ago. It wasn't half bad...but then again I wasn't in an expensive suite where we all dream of sleeping on "normal" beds. -
What ship will replace Allure @ Port Everglades
RestingBird replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I know. Mine was more of a random thought after reading your question and Matt's reply. It was definitely a good question, one I've been wondering in the back of my mind. Even after reading about Edge going to FL it didn't click in my head that she'd be replacing Allure. -
What ship will replace Allure @ Port Everglades
RestingBird replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Correct me if I'm wrong...But the Oasis class will be home ported (is that a word?) as follows, once Symphony arrives in American waters. Oasis = Cape Canaveral Harmony = Fort Lauderdale Allure & Symphony = Miami -
I've been waiting all week to hear how it went, so glad for the good review!

Symphony of the Seas Dining and Attractions
RestingBird replied to F1guynz's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I was going to wait...But maybe 2019 will be an Oasis year. Oasis in April, and Symphony later that year... -
I read the same thing...curious. Thanks for the post. Maybe it's a slow roll out.

Many questions... First time on RC.
RestingBird replied to cajunman14's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
To @cajunman14... Enjoy Vision of the Seas, appreciate the time you have on her, for there are rumors constantly circulating about her being put up for sale. I'd love to take her out before she's sold, but no telling if I'll get the chance. -
Looking for Info on Brilliance of the Seas out of Tampa
RestingBird replied to mbk999's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Good point, thanks for bringing this up. After some discussions on here about charters, I went and checked my Brilliance sailing and was in the clear, but it's probably about time to check again. -
Sleeping comfort for 3rd person

Your husband sounds like some of my friends. No idea what line, ship, ports...I just shake my head at them, lol. -
How often do you check cruise planner?

Looking for Info on Brilliance of the Seas out of Tampa
RestingBird replied to mbk999's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We'll be on her in March out of Tampa if all goes well, and looking forward to trying a JS. We were on Serenade last year and liked Radiance class well enough. I have the utmost faith in Brilliance. -
Not good news...I've been wanting to try Chops just for the aged steaks...grrrr. I'll be keeping an eye out on our next cruise anyway...maybe I'll get lucky.

New restaurants on Symphony of the Seas
RestingBird replied to Matt's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Same here, curious about this new Mexican sounding restaurant. Definitely try the Sabor guac. I've tried more guac than I can remember, never really cared for any of them. Tried it at Sabor and loved it! -
Next Level Traveling
RestingBird replied to whenismynextcruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Got a decent deal on a balcony as well, and my wife wasn't overly impressed by it either. We both loved the panoramic OV on Freedom, and are willing to pay a little extra for that. We'll be trying a JS on Brilliance, for the space, since we'll have our 1yr old with us. -

Great point about the airport choices. In addition to the ones Matt mentioned, there is Melbourne International, Sanford, and I think St Petersburg. -
I'd love to do some cruises out of San Juan, but will personally wait until 2019 or later, due to the Irma/Maria chaos.

My Time Dining/Anthem of The Seas
RestingBird replied to chrisd596's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I haven't been on Anthem, but from what I've heard 2 restaurants are for my time dining (MTD), and 2 are for traditional dining, no chance in eating in all of them. The menu is the same in all of them. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. On the first day we go to the dining room and set up a 5:30 dining time for every day of the week, but can change it, or not go to the MDR if we so choose. If we know our excursion will not give us time to get back and clean up in time for the 5:30 then we'll call, or go to the dining room, and change it to a different time. However, you don't have to set up a time at all if you don't want, you can walk up at different times every day if you so desire. We set times and call ahead just to help the staff a little. Pretty sure @DocLC said the longest he had to wait for MTD was 20min one time. -
What you can take in your carry on

Rock on! (pun intended). I love rock climbing while onboard. I'm no professional, but I think doing the pull ups with your palms facing away from you are the best for climbing prep (also seem to be the hardest).

I actually started eating more a few weeks before the cruise to prep for all the food onboard, because I get stuffed so quickly otherwise. I have a fast paced job, and just nibble enough throughout the day to get me through, so when I sat down with all the deliciousness onboard I took 2 bites and was done. That had to stop. So now I prep ??

On Serenade I went to the bar in the theater and asked for the drink of the day, it was some fruity drink. Went again the next night, asked for the drink of the day...same as previous night. I'm not saying all bars don't change it up, but on that ship, for those 2 days it didn't change. In fact, as I'm typing this I recall our first cruise in which my wife got the drink of the day each night at the R Bar, different drink each day. So as with many things, who knows what you'll run into onboard.

The aqua park is a lot of swimming between each activity, and some seem difficult for children to climb onto. They may fair ok with an adult helping them. I loved the park, and i was 28 at the time. Maybe just get some flip flops with super thick soles to make up those last 2 inches ?.

That price of $1200 is for 4 bungalows. I was confused my first few times looking into it as well.
