I will be talking with Next Cruise on my upcoming cruise. I am a teacher and I know the holidays that I can take cruises. I am thinking about a Canada/New England cruise. I went to school in Boston and my husband has never been that way.

Congratulations!!! I too got engaged on a cruise ship many moons ago. Every cruise we take a walk at night and confess our devotion to each other. We love Allure. And we honeymoon on a cruise ship. Thank you for sharing.

I shoot a full frame body. 14mm is about as wide as you can go without distortion. 50mm on full frame is a prime lens and very popular for portrait photography and some outdoor city scapes but for landscapes 50mm has a field of view that is too narrow IMO. On a ship with small spaces UWA works really well. My 12mm fisheye is a cool lens but you have to be very careful with fisheye and use it in conjunction with the natural curves and lines in the scene otherwise it just looks weird.
The other trick with a UWA for a shot like the other train coming at us - if the camera isn't level you can fix it in post but you lose some of the original photo. Sometimes that's not a big deal with an UWA lens but with a prime like a 50mm you had better be perfect in every shot. In other words a UWA lets you be a poor photographer and get away with it because you can fix it later with software.
I am reading your posts. I will be using my fisheye on my cruise. I will be posting for your opinions. Be on the lookout.

@twangster, your pictures are amazing. I have been to Alaska from San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Seward. I have been on over 15 Alaskan cruises and I can't get enough. I have been on every major cruise line. I started looking at my old pictures and I can see that we were almost taking pictures from the same spot. Thank you for taking me down memory lane.

Thank you for your assessment of the joy and hope in the Caribbean people. I have been through several hurricanes. I am Jamaican Creole. I am part Jamaican and Louisiana Creole. Talk about a double whammy. Every hurricane, I am thinking Louisiana or Jamaica. Thank you for sharing the motto, No pressure No Problem Mon!!!

Booking my cruise on Jan 2 which is my birthday. Guess I will be paying the increase. Bummer!

Love Christmas time on a cruise. Love anytime on a cruise. You are doing fine with your blogging. We will be on Majesty three times this Summer. We have a B2B in July.

@toodle68 this happened to us on another cruise line. We were on a 14 day Alaskan cruise. We brought the pictures, because they were awesome. We debated, but the pictures of my parents and us are memorable. We made extra copies and put them in our Christmas cards. Nice picture. Nice family. Love the fact that your children believe in education.

I just want to say my prayers for those who were on the bus in Mexico with the Equinox and Serenade passengers. My heart is going out to everyone who may have lost a loved one or injured. Many prayers going out to those families.
Yes! Sending prayers!

I know. Everyday I get up and start looking at cruises. My birthday is Jan 2 and my husband's is Jan 26. To be equal I guess we have to plan another cruise to celebrate our birthdays. Woohoo!!!!!

Thank you @twangster. Woohoo more pictures. Please don't forget the food pictures and gingerbread houses. My cruise is after the holidays.

I buy SWA the moment the schedule changes to FLL and Seattle.

I have been on Grandeur 8 times. It's just like going home to visit relatives. I know some of the crew very well. I take presents and talk about them. I know where everything is that I want to visit. I have been on 50+ cruises and every cruise is special.

So @melski94 I did not forget that I said I would keep you posted so here goes. Been watching the airfares on Delta for our Anthem (March 9, 2018) cruise since early October. It was $286pp at the time. Since then it has gone up and then up again....$313-$400pp. We ended booking with United in November because I found it one day for about $240pp but I continued to watch Delta prices rise. United then changed the schedules on us twice and finally this past week (Dec 12) they changed our return flight to 8:30am and that was the last straw. As our good fortune would have it, I checked Delta again out of frustration and the price had dropped back to $298 (just a bit higher than what I originally saw it at). I ended up cancelling our flights with United (no penalty for us because they changed it more than 2hrs from what we originally booked) and booking Delta for $298pp. So about $1200 for all 4 of us from DTW to EWR which I am happy with.
Long and short of it is that this past week was the 3 month mark. So just like our flights to MCO it did follow the trend yet again. Prices rose again and again and then dropped considerably right around the 90 day mark. I have been watching it still after I booked it and now it is back to $400pp for the same fare category. I'll be testing this for July 2019 too. Have not booked those flights yet...
I do the same thing. I watch Southwest all the time. I have a cruise spring break and I am watching fares. SWA has a day when fares will drop, then I will purchase my tickets.

Hello! I have been reading so many posts here but I have never introduced myself. I am Mary and I will be taking my first cruise in April on the Anthem. I live in Massachusetts, so I am looking forward to being able to drive to the port. I have learned so much reading your post but there is so much I still do not know!
This forum is my first non-Disney post!
Welcome Mary. I went to undergrad in Boston. Anthem is an awesome ship. I was on her last holiday. I will be on her again December 2018. @twangster has a great live blog about Anthem recently.

Well , Mr noro came to visit Indi,
Yesterday they only asked not to shake hands , today we are already on DEFCON 1 as they started to serve food in the WJ by the employees and asked us for the last day not to stay in our rooms between 5am and 7 am as they are planning to disinfect the corridors.
I guess whoever going on the ship this Saturday should expect some delays due to extra cleaning effort.
I am not that supprise we have this break as in too many occasions I saw people avoiding using the gel before entering food area and even after using the wash rooms. Shame that people do not understand how they are risking everyone.
Very true. I will be on the Brilliance next month. I am sure I will encounter the same thing.
