Why do I imagine you setting up a a tent and a couple lawn chairs in front of the terminal this Saturday like you're waiting for a Ticketmaster to open? ?

I received a response from my congressman on Friday afternoon and the contents of the letter I received was underwhelming. All it really did was thank me for contacting him "regarding the impact of the coronavirus on our hospitality and food service economy". For the most part, the next three paragraphs were just boilerplate statements on passing and extending the PPP, emergency economic bills, and various other financial relief bills. NOT ONCE was the cruise industry or it's treatment by the CDC mentioned. I feel like we're all just yelling into an empty cavern and not being heard or listened to. The only thing that made reading this letter tolerable was that I had arrived at an all-inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen earlier that day.

A while ago (2 months?) I remember it was being mentioned here that someone heard on another cruising site that the "cancel/rebook" function on the new version of the cruise planner was no longer available. Has anyone actually confirmed/debunked this?

I would prefer a catapult system attached to the chairs. "Five-minute Warning" at 55 minutes, If you and your belongings aren't removed or renewed at the 60 minute mark, you/your belongings get launched! ?

The app has been odd to me. A while back, one of the front page article regarding the new Israel sailings (March 9) referenced Odyssey being added to the app, but it was not listed in my iOS version despite two app updates since. It would only list my January 2022 sailing as "not yet available in this app". Just this week, WITHOUT an update, Odyssey appeared on the app along with my sailing, but, they are "working on the fun" since this sailing is so far out.

RC was actively reducing the amount of plastic bottles used across the fleet before the shutdown, which may explain the absence of Evian. While Evian has pledged to used 100% recycled plastic, it does not conform with the cruise line trying to eliminate the use of one time use plastics. Our last sailing in January of '20 had canned Dasani water instead of any plastic bottled brands. Besides, let's face it, we all know that buying/stocking another Coca-Cola product will cost RC considerably less than a premium priced brand like Evian.

YES! THIS! When it comes to online reviews of ANYTHING, I often find that that people with a negative experience seem more likely to post reviews than those that simply enjoyed their experience. Person 1: "I hated this and everyone in the world needs to hear about it!" Person 2: "Man, I had a really good time and I can't wait to tell my family and friends about it."

I believe they are. The healthy sail panel had recommendations for Medical Personnel, Onboard Clinic & Design Operations, and Treatment Plans. This is nothing more than "Look at us constituents! We're keeping you safe!" They (or their respective staffs) clearly have not done any research to see just how much the cruise industry has done to prepare for the resumption of operations. The language in the letter to the CDC gives the impression that they believe that the personnel running the industry and it's ships have been simply sitting with their feet up waiting to get back to business as usual. Nothing could be further from the truth. (Sorry for the run on sentences. I was "angry typing")

A couple years ago I found a micro mesh backpack at a closing down Kmart (75% off!) that does the trick quite well. Couple extra pockets to keep smaller, important things separate from our towels, water, sunscreen etc. The see-through micro mesh fabric also makes it easier to see items inside so we don't have to dig endlessly to retrieve something from the bottom.

Exactly. This nugget in particular stood out to me: "One reporter asked Mr. Buttigieg about the double standard cruise lines face that airlines do not, and his response was, "airlines have one safety profile; cruise ships have another."" He clearly does not know what the differences are when answering the question. He seems to be giving an answer just for the sake of giving an answer. You're gonna have to do better than that Pete. You're the US SoT.

I did CLIA's. I'll do this one, too. I'm on several other cruise lines email lists and if they contact me, I'll do it for them, too! I'm in favor of whatever gets the CDC's mother bleeping attention! More so, I'm in favor of whatever gets the attention of whomever has any oversight on on the CDC. I want them to have to answer to some higher authority as to why an entire industry is figuratively screaming at them and one state (one so far, that is) has filed a lawsuit against them. UPDATE: Rats, the email just takes us back to the CLIA site that I already visited/took action at. Anyone wanna join in front of the CDC office with a bullhorn?

GOOD! The CDC needs to be called out on their double standard BS! They're still holding on to the the idea of outbreaks similar to what happened on Diamond Princess OVER A YEAR AGO and paying no mind to the FACTS that we now have testing, health checks, mitigation measures, numerous other protocols, treatments, and, oh yeah, VACCINES!
