michelle got a reaction from Sharla in Future Cruise Credits left Over
SO you can use (1) FCC per cruise so if you will have $160 left over after you sail then I would hold on to that $160 if you can. They "may" have to extend some of these so you might get more choices once the rest of 2022 is released, but you may not - so that would mean sailing on something by April 2022 but redeeming the $160 by 12/31/21

great input and I agree - to not have to travel by airplane to get to a US port is a great point. I have always wanted to do the Columbia River and Mississippi

Just wanted to start a new discussion since its Friday ---
IF Royal Caribbean starts to build River Boats either in Europe or USA (Mississippi River like Viking) would
you sail on these? Thoughts? and what would it half to look like for you to consider it.

michelle got a reaction from Lovetocruise2002 in Did anyone else see this "ghost" announcement about updates to the 2021 summer deployment?
generally I have seen them move to same cabin on the new ship and price protect that (unless its lower) but with new rules weekly who knows

hang up until I get what I want, lol HAPPY for you @WAAAYTOOO and of course @SpeedNoodles too

Yes for the first question. We upgraded our stateroom from an inside to one with a balcony for less money. Made sure to book 7 night Eastern itinerary for a year earlier +/- 4 weeks....wasn't even the same week (and by "upgrade", we cancelled our original booking with the inside room after doing a booking for previous year and then lifted and shifted it)

michelle reacted to Matt in What will it take when it's "All aboard" ?
We don't have access to the whole "game plan" for it actually starting, but I think we usually have a good idea of the immediate next steps.
In my opinion, I see two things that need to occur first:
End of the No Sail Order Royal Caribbean submitting their health policies and protocols to the CDC It may not occur in that order, but those are two tasks that need to be complete before anything else related to cruises restarting can occur.

michelle reacted to teddy in When is your next cruise?
Lifted and shifted Nov 9, 2020 cruise on Navigator to Nov 8, 2021. Still Navigator on same itinerary.
A big thank you to @michelle for being proactive and getting a great deal for us. ?

michelle reacted to Matt in Don't do any of these things
Hi everyone, I know we get heated debating which dessert is the best one to order, or if a balcony room is worth it, but let's keep these basic rules in mind when chatting here.
No profanity No personal insults No political discussion This includes tropes about politicians and generalizations about political parties No debating religion Keep your posts relevant and accurate to each specific thread. We can all have our little fun within each thread but please make sure the information you're putting out there is correct and current. Topics not related to Royal Caribbean may be removed. Posts or comments encouraging cruisers to break any Royal Caribbean policy is not allowed and will be removed. -

So this thread is as close as I can find to my L&S news. I'm hijackin' it.
Last week @michelle booked the Royal Suite for me on Empress (11-22-20, 6 night Western Caribbean) with the express intent of L&S'ing it to next year. According to the website, the appropriate cruise to which to shift this would have been a 6 night Western Caribbean cruise on Odyssey. YIPPEE ! That sounds great. Since the appropriate shift from a RS on Empress to another ship is an Owner's Suite, I was happy with that idea. So she called and they stone cold refused to make the shift to Odyssey even though the website showed that sailing as an appropriate "match" AND there was an Owner's Suite still available (Odyssey only has 2 OS so it was a surprise that one was still available...but it was). Nope. Nope. Nope.
She tried doing the online L&S. Nope. They outright refused.
I was so disappointed. I have read of so many people moving their Empress suites to Odyssey and simply could not understand why I was being denied. If I had been there in person, they would have labeled me a "Karen" for sure. LOL
@michelle got a call this morning from the L&S team with the bad news for a second time. Not only would they not shift me to Odyssey, NOW they wouldn't even shift me to an Oasis cruise that had been their offer last week (this offer never made any sense. It was a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise which violated all of their "rules" - different number of nights, different itinerary). Now I was steamin'. Poor Michelle. She is so patient. She texted me to let me know that they were "evaluating our options".
I was resigned that this was just not going to work out. I asked Michelle to please just CWC and get an FCC for my deposit. She said "okay". Maybe 10 minutes later she texted me that they were offering to shift my Empress RS to an Allure Star Loft Suite during Thanksgiving week (6 night 11-21-21) !! I almost dropped the phone ! So they were willing to give me a $12.5K SLS on Allure but they couldn't see their way to giving me a $9K OS on Odyssey ? Whatever. I'll take Star Class every time !!!
So.... @michelle is the queen of L&S negotiations. I don't know how she does it....but she is awesome. I'm soooo happy !!!!!!!

We Lifted and Shifted our Empress sailing (1/2021) to an Odyssey sailing (1/2022) - we had to cancel the Symphony sailing in 1/2022 because they left the same day. But we swapped an OS on Empress for OS (Sky Class) on Odyssey for a STEAL!!! Thanks to @WAAAYTOOO for encouraging me to check to see if it could be done, and another HUGE thank you to @michelle for making it happen!!!!

michelle got a reaction from Baked Alaska in Best way to get smart on Azamara?
no they are not formal on dress code - some people are "country club attire" but that is the most dressed up I have seen. I have never packed more than a summer dress or two so its much more relaxed than I expected as well. really like it and the crew and staff

Ireland will be a great cruise

I love Azamara and have sailed on the ships two times - One California Coastal and to Cuba
I love the small and intimate size of the ship the most and that the Capt. has the ability himself
to make decisions and change departure times if need which happened to us while in SFO. He
delayed the sail out by 3 hours so guests could go the Chinese New Year Parade
The Cabins are nice and larger than on some ships. I have stayed in Ocean View and Balcony rooms
And have seen the suites which are nice and big.
Very relaxed atmosphere and not "stuffy" which I was worried about - I became easy friends with
the staff because of this too. you do get to know the staff well>
Their Windows Cafe theme nights are great and we end up having dinner in here most nights
because of the more relaxed atmosphere.
If you are a fan of lots of entertainment then you may not like it - small bands, singers, casino
are about all they have for nightly entertainment but remember on many itineraries, esp. in
Europe they stay in port longer or overnight even so you can enjoy the city you are in.
Most of all I love the all inclusive drinks, gratuities, meals etc. and based on your level
lots of internet minutes as well. The Azamazing evening event we did in California was
to a private dinner at a Vineyard in Napa, really well done.
Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions.

michelle got a reaction from cruisellama in Key West Could Ban Big Cruise Ships :-(
ugh hope this is not true as well - I love Key West and getting there by Cruise Ship is so much easier - although the
drive down is beautiful and you can fly into Key West so there are options.
