My Time Dining with a party of 14
MICHELLE replied to cruisercamper's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
If your bookings are linked for dining - then you should not have too much issues with this They should seat you next to one another in the dining room - You can call and request to link them all - then just confirm once on the ship you have similar table numbers and if not the Maitre-D on Day 1 can get involved. Enjoy -cruising with small groups like this are super fun -
MNorris - I truly believe you will really like the Oasis as well - good choice I've been on all the Disney Ships and love them - but those prices Whoa! like you said time for a change and Oasis has so much to offer a family

Empress of the Seas Post renovation?
MICHELLE replied to citymom92's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
YES - buy insurance just in case from an alternate company like www.allianztravelinsurance.com At least this will possibly protect the airfare portion if the cruise part cancels. And remember if RCI cancels, ask about alternate ships or look for alternate ships sailing out of the same port - that way you can still fly there and have a vacation. -
Customer Service after Empress cancellation
MICHELLE replied to lb0336's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Hi Make sure if you have issues with this that you call back and ask for a supervisor - and call resolutions or the redeployment line 888-281-9344. These 2 departments are responsible for handling these issues and questions more that the regular res. line. Hoping it works out for you lb0336. It truly is disappointing to see this all happening -
Yep I agree DocLC, not sure why they just did not go to this level when they raised it last time but at least they are giving you until April 14th to add them on to the bookings that you may currently have.

If this is offered as part of a tour with a company I suggest buying it that way - most likely those guests would be given priority - have not been to this hotel but it looks amazing

A Few Questions for a 1st time Royal Caribbean Cruiser
MICHELLE replied to readytogo's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Hi and welcome YES _ any liquor bottles you buy at the Duty Free shop is kept by them, and they deliver it later in the day last night of cruise so you can walk off with it - they track this too. Same with liquor you buy at the ports Matt is right about water, they are good at giving you water bottles. Not sure when you sailed with Carnival, but their policy is the same? but things change all the time - Wine and Champagne, one per person is allowed in carry on's Happy Sailing -
Anyone on Harmony in Aug? Quick question about Marseilles
MICHELLE replied to NicF612's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Welcome - I have not personally been but I have had clients actually do a day at the beach at a local resort and loved it. I will try and find the information but they were picked up by a private driver and taken there for the day = also may want to look at www.toursbylocals.com and book something with a local guides Great site - I've done several in many European cities -
Have not seen anything yet - but Crystal and Princess are still very active in South America

Yep and RCI has other special cruises besides Music with groups. I went on the Hogs on the High Seas cruise by 'accident' one year and had a blast - 2000 Harley enthusiasts sail together and do a fund raiser while sailing we also were allowed to participate in the T-Shirt swap on Labadee, it was a blast.
-
And if you have kids, bring glow sticks and crack them on as they are going to bed makes an instant night light for them to have in their bed to make them more comfortable - I have clients give the kids the glow sticks a few days before the cruise at home etc so they were used to it

Rhapsody of the Seas Tips appreciated!
MICHELLE replied to Haligonian's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Hi - and welcome - Great itinerary - and even though I have not sailed the Rhapsody I think you will like it Rome - keep in mind the port is one hour from the city so getting a tour or private guide for the day may be the way to go - Dubrovnik you will love - beautiful coastal city - as are many of the others I often look at www.shoretrips.com for tours instead of the cruise lines - smaller group sizes and my new favorite for clients is www.toursbylocals.com - these are guides that live in the cities all around the world you visit -you can pick out a pre-arranged itinerary or make up your own with the guide directly -have used them a lot and highly recommend for city and day touring -
Welcome to the boards - and agree with everyone - no cruise line really has had luck with doing Mexican Riviera or short cruises out of LA, or San Diego - the CA market just does not really support it like the FL market does - but they may do more Pacific Coastal cruises and things like that in the future -

Woo Hoo! well first and foremost, clients like you are great and I appreciate the public vote of confidence - as well as all the private one's What I hope people can understand its my job to be your advocate, you don't have 4 1/2 hours to spend on hold during these predicaments who does! but I also have the knowledge of "what to say to the cruise lines" to get things done I think faster - I've done this 23 years, I better know the words by now. And its so disappointing to clients - I could care less in these predicaments about my bottom line - your dream trip has been disrupted and I need to fix it! No not every agent out there can or does believe that but our office has some of the best around! not just me but ALOT of agents in our office work this way. Long story short - it worked out and they get to cruise! Happy for you and Dan both!

yes, all above are right Deck 4, and the new terminal is much better

This is just not a good situation all around - the cruise line is allowing you to change to a new sailing and price protecting, and adding in $100 onboard credit as a good will gesture - they are also giving client who booked airfare with royal free change in airfare. For those like Waaaytoo that book air on her own they are allowing up to $200 reimbursement of airline change fees. This cancellation is due to refurbishments not being made in time but still it leaves a bad taste for clients and will be a hard sell now for RCI to get people to trust them No worries though Waaaytoo -I got your back!! Also - this is also why travel insurance comes in handy! you never know what will happen

yep - the size of the staterooms is generally the same in each category but the number like D3, vs D4 gives you options as to locations. And also determines if they hold 2, 3 or 4 people as well. The more middle of the ship, the more the cost generally or the more exclusive the category like Aft Balcony cabins, the more the cost Hope that helps.
-
I bring my own hair dryer also depending on the ship because it just works better than the one's they have onboard - the newer ships have better options but the older one's I don't really like
-
Polster - that is unusual and may be because you are outside the US I transfer money all the time- actually all they do is make the new booking and keep the money on the booking - very very easy Nicky - look at prices online Don't cancel your cruise there is no need to do that unless the new offers says FOR NEW BOOKINGS ONLY - Any good RCI agent, can just adjust your pricing - key is getting someone that knows how to do this - Keep in mind you may lose onboard credits (if that came with original prices) or get less obc etc. What I am seeing as a trend now is BOOK EARLY The clients I have that have booked 9 months or more out are getting the best deals on their pricing - even when new offers come out - their original prices are better
-
both airports have a transfer company called Go-Green and they have really cheap rates and can transfer you to both ports. Agree with others if you like the Night Life then South Beach is good - or if you want both stay in North Miami Beach, a little quieter and an easy cab ride to South Beach. Ft Lauderdale I think has better beaches and still bars and places to eat and Las Olas is a fun street but its different. I even like the Hollywood beach areas too - Like others have said for 3 days you are 20 min apart between the cities so getting back and forth are easy
-
Agree I think its better to be higher on ships too
-
Super easy to do - hope you get it all worked out and welcome!
