I have been debating this same decision when looking into a potential Icon sailing in January. It will just be my wife and I so perhaps the Grove area along with access to CK might be worth it. I'm pretty torn honestly, we'll have an Oceanview Junior Suite on Symphony in November so it might be nice to try something different with the additional perks...

Apparently it's a brand new port they've built in Southern DR close to the Haiti border. Not much infrastructure there yet but they will be building it up over the next couple years.

I sailed Rhapsody out of PR in January of ‘98 when she was less than a year old. Had a great time, we stopped at Aruba, Curacao, St Maarten and St Thomas.

They could perhaps do a BOGO, it works for Publix!

Maybe this is why they are leaving Radiance and Serenade available following the summer 2025 schedule in case they sell one/both?

Looking at this sailing, have to speak with my wife and convince her another cruise is a good idea when we already have ones booked for August, November and next July.

Just stumbled across this, first time hearing about it although Grandeur was scheduled to go bye-bye prior to the pandemic...

Instead of “Lifeguard” their shirts should say “Turd Hunter” on the back!

Maybe it's just a Baby Ruth candy bar?

This legit blows my mind that this is an everyday occurrence. If you have an upset stomach stay out of the freaking pools ya dingbats!

I'm going to Alaska for a cruise on Aug 11...I kinda want to do this inaugural sailing and I could *probably* get off of work but I think my wife will kill me if I bring it up since I know she can't go lmfao.

The pool being closed constantly would annoy the shit out of me...pun intended.

I cannot wait to go on her in November, I feel like my mind is going to be blown since my last Royal cruise was on Splendour 23 years ago.

I hope things will be resolved by my late November cruise so I can go to Labadee as I really wanted to go there but I'm not holding my breath. I'm on Symphony and the other scheduled stops are CocoCay, Nassau and Falmouth so I think alternate ports are limited. If Labadee is a no go it would be nice to check out Grand Turk as I've never been...it looks like only one ship is scheduled to be docked there on that day (11/29). I'd much rather prefer that to another day at sea.

Have they announced Singapore yet? That might be where Ovation ends up as it usually stays out in the Pacific.
There are no ships currently scheduled out of NOLA for the Oct to April time frame which usually has a ship so Serenade or Radiance will probably fill that slot. Where the other one goes I’m unsure.
Mariner will probably stay put in GAL for Feb/Mar/Apr ‘26 I bet.

Maybe they will send Wonder over to Asia full-time as it was originally intended pre pandemic?
There are only so many home ports/itineraries that can accommodate Oasis/Icon Class ships.
Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Galveston are the US home ports currently and add in Cape Liberty for the Summer months.
By the launch of Oasis 7 in 28 they will have 10 big ass ships in rotation bc Icon 3 comes out in 26 iirc. I’m thinking one goes to Asia year round and another one will offer cruises out of the updated port in San Juan perhaps?
Speculation is fun!

That is almost double. That is crazy.

I don’t care about this stuff but my wife is extremely cautious. The gov’t knows who I am, where I am and I could care less as I’m not that important.

Doesn't San Juan already have occasional port stops by Oasis Class ships? Is it a different dock than the usual one used there?

0! First one will be in July on Oasis
You picked a helluva first ship to go on! What ports will you be visiting?

Suite benefits solely worth it for Surfside suite on icon?

Yeah I don’t see the big deal, the suites pool isn’t adults only. Guess it’s just luck of the draw if there are a lot of families with kids on your sailing or not…
