  1. This is news to me. It mentions PCR or Antigen, I don’t see a single thing that says you can’t take a “rapid antigen test”. This is the test they are conducting on children at the port prior to getting on the ship from what I understand.
  2. This whole testing thing is a mess. In the interest of clarity, the test must be taken “no more then 2 days prior to sailing” which means if you have a check in time at noon on a Saturday then you can test anywhere from 12:01 Thursday afternoon to 11:59 on Saturday am. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong because we are going to be doing this next week in preparation for a holiday sailing. As for the children, “no more then 3 days prior to sailing- but NOT on boarding day”. My family of (4) 2 adults and 2 young kids are going to test next Friday afternoon.
  3. RC has already released the updated protocols and I don’t see anything like this listed.
  4. Was the insurance slip from the 70’s? IMHO you should ask this question on a watch forum like “the rolex forum” and then go under the sub topic “Omega”. Someone should be able to assist with answering your question. That’s a very interesting piece.
  5. This hits the nail on the head. Invicta is the scam. Please don’t waste your money on this garbage.
  6. Also, important to note, 30 days does not actually mean 30 days… I have put in Royal Up bids outside of 60 days multiple times, it’s hit or miss. Much like the old days where a 1:00pm check in at the port meant you were on the ship eating lunch by 11:30am, RC always has play built into its parameters I’ve noticed.
  7. IMHO the roll out of the Royal Up program is probably one of the better decisions RC has made in terms of its customers!
  8. Can anyone please elaborate on what (if any) of the COVID-19 self test kits are approved and have been successfully used for cruise travel? I’m getting mixed results in my online searches as far as what brand/type test kit can be used for Royal Caribbean. Thanks in advance.
  9. It’s vacation, wear what you want! Personally anywhere I cannot wear shorts & sandals is not a place I want to be anyway (especially on vacation).
  10. This is about as close as you can get with a recreational boat before the sheriff starts flashing lights at you.
  11. I’ve seen them at both PE and Miami. I would imagine it has to do with the recreational boating at both respective inlets. On the weekends it’s gridlock boating traffic. Whenever the cruise ships start moving the Broward Sheriff office boats stop traffic and the Coast + Pilot boat escort the ships out of the inlet to the outside marker.
  12. I’ve seen rapid test trailers set up in multiple locations in East Fort Lauderdale. Next time I’m out and about I will get some details on how many are out there and what the pricing is. I have yet to see any lines so this might be a good option if your sailing out of Port Everglades.
  13. Nothing would change until 4 day before cruise (at best) but more then likely 1-2 days before departure. “Pending” is a good thing.
  14. If you have no mobility issues this is not an issue at all provided you are the first group off the ship.
  15. Still seems way too early. Most of the many I’ve won change status and CC charged roughly 2-4 days before departure.
  16. I’ve done several New Years holiday sailings (and currently booked on this sailing as well). It’s a great time and totally worth the premium price to be sailing on New Years especially on an oasis class ship.
  17. Margaritaville Hotel Hollywood Beach or Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale.
  18. Just responding to one of the OP questions: “What are your tips and tricks for the Casinos on board...other than great social fun. Slot machines to avoid or try? “ Thanks
  19. Bet max on the wackiest machines in the casino that nobody dares play. I’m talking about the hello kitty machines or the Tabasco sauce machines or anything that does not attract people. The casino royale players club program is as disorganized as they come. Nobody (especially the land based reps) knows anything about it and two phone calls will yield opposite answers. With that being said, if you lay some cash on the table and gamble some money you may get some decent comps. Like many other players on this forum, I get some decent suites for what most people pay for balcony staterooms.
  20. Smart money says they build a small casino as well….
  21. For my family of (4), $20-$50 depending on family size or kids that are either high maintenance (like mine) or kids that create a mess to clean up for the staff.
  22. I was asked several times by the server if we would like more lobster or anything else on the menu. It was overall a very good experience.
  23. Nope, she’s socially distanced with no need for a mask.
