Maybe so. I'm spending over $300 on internet for our cruise, which in my opinion should be considered ludicrous by everyone, no matter what your budget is.

_1stTimer got a reaction from ChessE4 in Corkage Fees?
Just another confirmation. No corkage fees mentioned across 4 nights of bringing unopened bottles on Allure this week. (4 bottles because of 2 cabins)
I think there's such a focus on your head waiter getting a perfect score on the review, that they don't mess with it. We plan to tip extra for their bottle service. (But not because of their lost revenue -- that's their own business problem to resolve.

Been really good so far. It was mid 70s to mid 80s in Mexico. Smooth sailing on the seas and even though I the sailing is near capacity, it doesn’t feel crowded. The Neighborhoods concept does such a good job of breaking up the crowds. Even at the elevators! Allure looks good - not showing her age, IMO. Air conditioning in the room takes a bit to kick in … that’s the only negative I have.
I saw the Aqua Theater show on Harmony 3 years ago and the one here is just great as well!
Also, NextCruise has a new booking offer that I took advantage of (kiddo wants to sail Icon next… can’t blame her after seeing the docus onboard about it). Reduced ($200) deposit, and you don’t have to chose your sailing - booking can be delayed up to 12 months.

We are on Allure now and did not reserve parking. Had to park in Lot 14, but a shuttle takes you to the terminal. It was $108 for a 5-night cruise.

We intend to follow the instructions hoping it will lead to easier boarding and minimized waiting to enter our staterooms.

Thanks! I called the port parking number before reading this, and a lady said the base price for 7 days is $140 either way, but you get that discount you mention if you reserve. It's still possible to drive up, though.
Their site lists economy parking but that's the Carnival lot. Apparently they haven't updated their listing for the new terminal parking.

_1stTimer got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in Responses from contact us form
If this is true, "...more guests than ever before are choosing email as their primary communication...", then I wonder if it's because they don't want to wait an hour on hold, AND/OR they don't trust the replies they get from the reps. I see on this discussion board that people are sometimes told different things when they call in.
Maybe travel agents get faster responses. We'll use one next time.

Ok, I guess we can conclude that the contact us form on the site is broken or ignored.
I called and got it taken care of.
Things like this add up and do not enstill confidence in passengers. I don't see anywhere to escalate or report the issue either.
Thanks for the replies, all.

Anyone else getting no replies from the contact form? I got the auto reply from "web_reservations" when I sent my message Wednesday morning. It's now Saturday and still nada. It's a simple thing that shouldn't require a phone call and hold time.

Arrive at 1, you should be on board by 1:30, if not sooner.

I always tell people to eat an early breakfast as you might be up around 5/6am and not get on the ship until noon or later.

I've wanted RC to do this. Scrap the dumb internal chat app from the early 2000s and just have people pay for messaging services. You could probably charge $5 per day or maybe even a little more and people would soak it up.

How about we all chip in and lease our own satellite constellation. The 'Royal Caribbean Blog Super Special Satellite Service' for members only? 🤣

I thought the same regarding not being able to hotspot a Wi-Fi source until I tried it on my pixel phone. It worked really well.

I work as a Computer Analyst five days a week. I play multiple online video games on my PC most every night. When I cruise I leave all Electronic devices at home. Yes, even my Iphone but excluding my Insulin pump which I need to take so that I can compensate for all of those desserts I am not supposed to eat.

My wife and I tether her Android phone to my computer all the time, while in the room or at a table. Speed is ok most of the time, even while we are both streaming. I use a VPN when I'm on my D+ days and it lets me stream fairly well even though I only have SURF. I also have cruise long SURF and STREAM by being a Signature member so am "authorized" 2 devices most days. I tether mostly because the 2 devices I'm authorized keep knocking one of us off if one of the devices is a computer.

When i was on Oasis in March, I purchased one device surf+stream, and was able to hotspot (using galaxy note 10+) it to multiple devices ( 2 kindle fires and my wife's iphone ), and the speed didn't seem to be impacted. Kids could watch youtube and my wife could netflix without issue. Obviously there were times when it was slow and unusable, but expected when you're in the middle of the ocean.

Hi @_1stTimer! Yes, you can wait until you board and confirm on the app and change tables if necessary at the podiums at the entrance to the MDR. Also, when you receive your SeaPass cards, the table number is printed on the card.
However, if you have the time, you can call Royal and ask them to confirm that your linked reservations will be seated together. Last week, while making another inquiry, the customer service rep asked me out of the blue if I would be dining with any other parties and what size table we would require (we all have 5:30 traditional dining, party of six in total). I confirmed that we have 3 reservations linked and provided the reservation numbers. I confirmed that we wanted to be seated with them, but they explained each party needs to contact Royal separately to confirm their wishes for MDR seating. Both of the other parties we're traveling with have since called Royal to confirm and now we're linked together (fingers crossed) in their system. It's just one less thing to potentially deal with once you board and it's also nice to have the correct table number printed on your SeaPass card.
Have an amazing time on your cruise! 🚢

We booked directly through RC so no assistance from a TA to make this happen.
I was unaware that this even happened until the last family that booked informed me that they got a room close to us. I explained that we don't have a room assignment. They said yes you do!
