shof515 reacted to Mark_A in Are studio cabins supposed to be more expensive than if you travel in a double occupancy cabin as a solo?
I never even bothered looking for a studio cabin. I cruise solo and just book a regular room. I like the additional space...

be aware that is an unofficial site and is not from the canada government. Arrivecan is free and there is no payment required like what that site claims
here is the official arrivecan form from the canada government:

shof515 reacted to CrznTxn in Printing Sea Pass (Advice)
We have been cruising every month since last August and ALWAYS have a printed copy of our documents. The folks checking us in have thanked us every time and we have breezed through to the ship while other were fumbling through their phones. Do not get me wrong, I have all the latest high tech devices and am a big techie for work BUT after poor WIFI at the terminal and swiping through multiple screens I discovered it was not me with the issue, it was the person checking us in. These folks were looking for the PRINTED COVID negative test result to highlight it with their marker and they just could not do that on my phone screen (snicker from the old days of "whiteout" on the computer screen). The next person that was checking us in was looking for that highlighted page and we had to start over and go over everything again since it was not printed out. Now we have it printed and organized and we almost do not stop walking during our check in from start to finish.

shof515 got a reaction from Carotthat in Parking-Cape liberty cruise port New Jersey
i am sailing on the Adventure next week out of Cape Liberty. there is no direct shuttle to the airport. the only transfer they offer is a Manhattan highlights tour that then takes you to the airport

5:30 seems too early and 8 too late. We did My Time in April and 6:30-7pm seemed perfect to us.

shof515 reacted to Psycho and Barb in Vaccination Card for Check-in
We bought these passport holders on Amazon with a clear window for our Vax cards. We then print our SetSail Pass and our Covid test results…Fold them into the passport holders. It’s super quick and easy to show the required stuff to anyone who wants to see them…And it seems everyone and their brother wants to see them.

shof515 reacted to SpeedNoodles in Port days, how do they work?
I'm always back at least an hour prior to sail away, at a minimum.

shof515 reacted to AshleyDillo in Dining time question
It doesn't bother me. I only had people show up on 1 night out of 4. If I didn't enjoy my table mates I would just go eat elsewhere. The MDR food isn't worth then awkwardness for me 😂

shof515 got a reaction from Poolside in Bermuda
from what i noticed on a different cruise line, when Bermuda is during the middle of the cruise the cruise ship will do covid testing onboard the ship. They will usually tell you to go to xyz lounge or dinning room on a specific date for testing. then they will the forward the results to the Bermuda government.
you still need to precruise covid test as part of the Bermuda travel authorization process

shof515 got a reaction from nrgMike in Bermuda cruise
on the first night there is no time limit. the gangway is open all night. just be back before the all onboard time on the 2nd day
-
shof515 got a reaction from SpeedNoodles in ArriveCan?
There is this same argument with Bermuda and their Travel Authorization process which is similar to Canada Arrivecan. For Bermuda cruises, everyone has to fill out a application even if you dont get off the ship. Canada might have similar requirements requiring everyone submitting this

shof515 got a reaction from Allen2 in ArriveCan?
on the royal website:
ArriveCAN: All travelers to Canada, or their legal guardians, must download the ArriveCAN app or complete the mandatory travel information via the ArriveCAN website prior to your entry into Canada. This applies whether you are departing on your cruise from Canada, ending your cruise in Canada, or visiting the country as a port of call. We are working with the Canadian government to make this process easier for guests arriving by cruise ship, and will ensure guests have guidance to complete this process smoothly onboard.
it appears everyone needs to fill it out because the ship will be in canada waters
