I booked room 10324 center GLS for 4 adults. I was up in the air to go star class, but the SLS was only $600 less per adult and knowing star perks, it was a no Brainer. Now I only have to wait 16 months.🙃

I'm looking at bumping our April 24 Hawaii cruise on Quantum from a GS to a GLS as my daughter and son in law want to come. So my question would be, which deck is best 8th or 10th and middle or side? I was looking at the SLS also, but was only $2400 cheaper. So if you add 4 adults to star perks, the GLS was a no Brainerd. It's a long way out for trip and I'm using it as something to look forward to after I fight my battle with cancer treatment which started a miserable 4 days ago. So if everything goes good, I should be good to go.

We had a middle Grand loft suite on 10 on Quantum. Good to know by not to book 8. We have a corner one booked on 10 for 2024 because it had 2 side decks which seemed interesting. Beginning to think we should look to see about switching if possible. 

@Templecruiser the deck 10 corner loft suites are smaller, but we found it acceptable for our party of three.  We sailed 10270 in Alaska and found the combination of the three veranda's a big plus for that itinerary.  Having done other loft suites on the Oasis class, I'll add that now we would feel that room is a little small for the Star Class lofts in comparison but it is still larger than a standard stateroom.  The bigger drawback for our party was that there is no tub in the suite.

Agree with @Lovetocruise2002…steer clear of the outside GLS on the Q class ships.  The middle 2 on deck 10 would be my recommendation.  Deck 8 tends to get a lot of noise from 270 during the shows.  You cannot escape the show noise completely, but deck 10 is definitely better than deck 8.

We had Deck 10 on Anthem. Middle ones, don’t get the side one. @WAAAYTOOOsaid those are a lot smaller. And there have been some complaints about noise from the Deck 8 suites.

We went to eagle beach couple weeks ago. It was good and clean. Not much for snorkeling but decent waves. Not much for little kids as the water got deep fast and waves would knock them around. Get there early as chairs go quick and there pricey from vendors.

I have been told that gratuity is diverted to CK when you eat there.  

I'm not sure I'd pick a side of the ship for a few hours on one day.  It may also depend where it is in the itinerary and the course the ship takes.
In my case we left the mainland on the way to Hawaii and had Na Pali first so we had port side to the coast until the bridge did a 360° turn and then carried on.  YMMV.
I wouldn't stay in my cabin for this portion of the cruise.  You will get much better views being out and about from the front of the ship to the railings, regardless of class of ship, get out and see it from all sides.  

Yes, they will be up in arms but it will be for the better once the dust settles. The Diamond lounge is an absolute waste of space IMHO.

For me, it was the way they took care of me and my wife on my very first cruise. It was out 10 year anniversary and we booked the inaugural cruise on Grandeur of the seas in 96. We had a interior room, but with a new ship, our room was creaking badly to the point we could not sleep. They gave us ear plugs for the next day as I’m not a big complainer. We tried that, but they would not stay in and another sleepless night. They said they had a ocean view room to replace our interior. So they gave us the key to room and we grabbed our stuff to move in. We got to the room, I opened the door and a woman was changing right in front of me. Before I made it back to the desk, they already called and said someone entered there room. I guess these people also had room issues. Well after that, the lady behind the desk said they only had one room left. She took us up to the room, and it was a owners suite. I was beyond myself going from a interior to owners suite plus $200 OBC. So that left a lasting impression on me that they wanted to take care of me. The only downside to it, once I had the balcony, I have not gone back to interior, so that experience cost me a lot of money since, but I love it.

We have deck 11 1 bedroom which is the lowest down you can get without being in the 2 bedroom. You can hear noise but not loud with glass sliders open. Very very little when closed. Could not hear anything in bedroom with doors closed.

@Neesawrote on her blog that she got one of these for her Thanksgiving sailing and then was upgraded shortly afterwards.
