We had Marla in March on wonder. It was our family’s first SC cruise. I heard from her 3 weeks out and didn’t hear back for another week. I was worried initially but I figured she was busy with on board passengers.
You have nothing to worry. She will take an awesome care of you. She’s one of the original genies and she truly enjoys her job. She’s always positive and full of energy. You will love her. Enjoy your trip!

How hot is it in July? Is it sauna hot with high humidity? Thinking about western caribbean cruise next July but I’m worried it would be too hot to enjoy the ports. Thanks!

As I've stated in many posts in the past, our first Genie was Marla. She was fantastic and she has set the bar for all other Genies. Now, I haven't found any other Genie that can live up to Marla's service, and professionalism. I'm not shy and will voice my opinion of other Genies. Our last on the Symphony wasn't the best I've had but not BAD. I didn't let it ruin my cruise and I didn't complain to him or anyone else of importance on the ship.
What am I trying to say here? Well, I believe it is Okay to judge one cruise compared to another. But, it's how you deal with it that counts. I have not and will not say the not so great Genie's name in public and I will not disparage him in any way in public. I did make the best of the cruise, in fact it was one of my best cruises, despite the Genie experience. Again, the Genie experience wasn't bad, it just didn't live up to Marla's service and professionalism.
We had Marla as our first genie last month. I couldn’t agree more about her being an awesome genie. She has definitely set the bar.
our next SC cruise is in October on symphony. I’m already concerned that the next genie will not match her qualities.

Shout out to @WAAAYTOOO@Lovetocruise2002@Jax@Neesa@AshleyDillo!
I’m officially a star class snob! I’ve read your blogs but it’s 10k better in person! Marla has been an awesome genie and can’t believe how much energy she has.
CK filet was the most tender filet I’ve ever had. It melts in your mouth like M&M! Thanks everyone for educating me and turning me in to a star class snob.
also thanks to @Sharla for making our cruise reservation experiences so easy and smooth.

I agree with you about skipping the line. So far it hasn’t been too bad on wonder but I’m not the type who would walk up to the front and flesh my star bracelet. Todays a sea day so we’ll see how it goes.

Do you know how many of you are on board? Thanks
Around 4700. It’s lively but doesn’t feel super crowded. We’ll see what happens tomorrow, which is a sea day

Only one extra set? Are you sure about that? lol
We packed a separate carry on luggage after reading Sabrina’s ordeal. Lo and behold, our luggage missed our direct flight to FLL!! We did get our luggage tonight but I was getting anxious.

All have minus Hibachi. It is the only remaining location that is vaxed only
Really? We were able to book hibachi with our unvaccinated son on Wonder. It must be ship dependent. Thanks for the updates!

Can you check out pool towels to take on a beach excursion? How early does the pool towel station open? Thanks!

Another awesome report!
one quick question. Do you keep your luggage with you when you debark or do you put them out the night before, like everyone else? Thanks!! Wonder in 4 days!!

Anyone have any experience with Israel as a Genie? He initially contacted us about 2 weeks ago to introduce himself. Our sailing is about 2 weeks away from now and I’ve emailed him twice with some requests but haven’t received a response. I understand he’s probably taking care of his guests on the current sailing but don’t the Genies usually set aside time to correspond with guests for upcoming sailings?
We have Marla next week. I’ve been receiving a weekly email from her. I’m sure our communication will increase next week as we fine tune our plans. I’ve read nothing but good things about all the genies on Wonder, including Izzy. I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m sure he’ll take an excellent care of you.

How does this happen? Don’t they have charts and radars to tell you how deep the water is? Gotta be embarrassing for the captain

I hope it doesn’t turn into next costa Concordia.

I’m no sailing expert but that doesn’t look good.

@Lovetocruise2002 Thank you for this blog! I know it's pushing 3 years old now, and the world has changed a tad since then, but I was having a hard time finding a true explanation of what to expect from Star Class. My wife and I have been DCL cruisers for 10 years. (A long time ago I was a dedicated USN cruiser for 10 years.)
We finally got to cruise in Concierge last month on DCL and were completely blown away. That also got me thinking there must be something better, for maybe a little less money. I over-research and over-plan everything, so this blog has helped me tremendously!
My wife just comes along for the ride and really doesn't do anything except pack, as I'd forget my medicine if I packed. She does tell everyone I'm the best private travel agent in the world though. So there's that! Thanks again! I think our next cruise will be Star Class!
This is why we have our first SC cruise on Wonder in 3 weeks! Thanks to@WAAAYTOOO @Jax @AshleyDilloalso.

I’m sorry there’s a last min change to your genie. We had Marla in March. You’re in great hands. We wondered how she could have so much energy. Just let her know what you want throughout your cruise and she’ll make it happen. Looks like you guys have a full schedule also!
