  1. I've got a friend who is vaccinated and totally asymptomatic and her test came back positive. It might have been a false positive, but she should be covered if it wasn't. COVID-19 Cancellations and Refunds Policy | Royal Caribbean International
  2. My wife sent hers in on June 7. She thought she had "plenty of time" before our September 5 sailing. She thinks that Royal will let her cruise with a birth certificate and driver's license. Is that true?
  3. Florida appears to be peaking but New York, Texas, and California look like they aren't even near peaking, from what I can see. Florida: Texas:
  4. Personally, I love the inside cabins. You can nap any time of the day! And the price is right! ? I will always pick a cabin towards the aft end of the ship. That's where the MDRs are. So I won't ever pick a cabin on the forward end.
  5. Definitely the disembarkation port. Any other port is great, including Nassau. ? One of our favorite cruises was when our itinerary was changed a couple of months before sailing, to a "Nassau Only" cruise. They had to do some work on the Liberty's engines or something. It was one of my favorite cruises because we got a hefty discount! If they offered cruises to nowhere from Galveston, I would be all over that.
  6. Rhapsody in '06 out of Galveston, our third cruise overall. It doesn't get old! ?
  7. What a great benefit! I can have a glass of wine with dinner, or even two! A beer in the casino, and maybe a drink while watching the evening show. 13 times 4 is 52 times 2 is $100 per day value. That'll make my Labor Day cruise even more special since it will be my first cruise as a Diamond! On Monday morning, I'll trek up to the lounge to see if the coffee is good. Can't wait!
  8. FYI my room was changed on my Liberty->Independence sailing. Once the call volume goes down I'll call them to try to get it back. But if you are a suite customer you probably ought to call them now and spend the time on the phone.
  9. My cruise on the Liberty over the week of Labor Day does not appear to be changed on the website. I'll call them in a few days to see if my sailing has been moved to the Independence. I hope so, I've never sailed on her.
  10. I think I'll get our picture taken as we walk from the boarding area to the ship. We never do that, it'll be a form of celebration.
  11. The problem is that there are too few TA cruises! ?
  12. If you like museums you will love the Victoria and Albert museum. I also like the British Museum, but V&A more. My wife has done TA east and west bound and she greatly prefers west. We will only go westbound from now on, but we love the TA cruises. A lot of cruisers don't like TA because there are fewer ports, but that is actually what we prefer. We're weird that way, I guess. We're on the TA which will bring the Allure to Galveston next year.
  13. Not being able to figure out the true cost without a bunch of figuring. All the hidden fees and discounts being factored into the cost. A $500 cruise is not a $500 cruise, you have taxes, port fees, tips, excursions, casino, wifi, all kinds of stuff. Sometimes I wish for all-inclusive pricing like they have on river cruises. Those are more expensive, but at least I know the cost up front. Don't flame me for disloyalty. ?
  14. I agree, unfortunately. I booked a Labor Day cruise this year with a December cruise as backup. My guess is that even the December cruise could be cancelled. I would love to be wrong.
  15. Yes, great idea. Or more Crown and Anchor points, free drinks, free bingo, a free cookie in your cabin, there are all kinds of possible incentives.
  16. 2. I can only take one a year because of vacation restrictions. Someday, I'll do more than one a year.
  17. I'm going to try it once, to find out for myself. Hopefully we will be sailing over Labor Day. I think I paid $21.99 per person-day for it.
