Day 14: split Croatia 
 
I woke up and went to the crown lounge for a latte. Next was the windjammer for breakfast. Then back to my stateroom to grab my stuff and off the ship. My goals for today was to 1. Find a Croatian grocery store 2. Try Croatian wine 3. Find a new carry on suitcase as mine broke. 
 
I accomplished number 1 right away. I have a tradition of getting my grandmother baking mixes from other countries so picked her up 2. Then I accomplished number 2 I enjoyed some local wine looking at the harbour. Then I shopped in the market. I did not find anything but it was enjoyable. By now it was 11:30 and hot! So back to the ship and up to the solarium I went. I got myself a chair in the shade, a drink in my cup clip and then did the swimming sit and read rotation. I stopped into the windjammer annd had a fantastic made to order sandwhich. Around 4:00 I went back for a nap. Now I’m in the schooner bar enjoying a martini pre show. 

I will never gamble enough to reach that 😂 I’m a couple hundred dollars a cruise gal and only cruise once to twice a year.

I was thinking about you/your mom this morning and wondering how things were going.  Sounds like it was a whirlwind, but she's someone else's problem now ! (meant with LOVE only).  How's your grandmother taking it ?

My dog says thank you for proposing something that made me fall over on top of her. Not that I've been drinking tonight...much... I'll try it in the morning too (the balancing, not the drinking).

I’ll be 68 in October and definitely do and say some “old lady” stuff.  My daughter was talking about a 401k, and Im thinking who could run a 401K….heck, I can barely run to my mailbox. I still don’t know how to call for an Uber. I just mastered turning my TV from regular to Netflix.  I can’t remember my passwords, for even this site, so I just stay logged onto the site as well as many others. Sometimes I get kicked off, so have to find the password that is written down somewhere, but have a hard time remembering where that somewhere is. I have whiskers growing just above my lip, and forget that I do, until I look into my magnifying mirror.  All above is true with the exception of the 401K. On the flip side, I work out with weights at the gym, and walk a few miles everyday.  Here’s your vintage test:  stand on just your left leg (right leg bent at knee) cross arms across your chest…so far easy, right….but now close your eyes.  Stand like that with eyes closed.  If you are not a vintage you should easily be able to do it for 30 seconds or more.  I’m a vintage. 

My husband got a reminder today on his Queen of Hearts Offer, for Interior Room for 2.  He clicked on the link in the email and it took him to a page of cruises. He kept reading the prices and couldn't believe it. I took over his computer and sure enough, I followed the link all the way to the end and the price remained the same. There was even a 7 day cruise out of New Orleans. None of them worked for us but maybe one of you may get a good bargain.

Hey there cruisers.  So our plans ended up changing and this cruise is no longer on our schedule.  We have switched to the October 2025 Transatlantic from Rome to Bayonne!  Our family members who want to do the Italy land vacation part with us preferred the Fall dates and we actually do too!
I will be checking for a roll call for the Fall and if there is not one I will start one.
Hope your cruise goes smoothly and I will definitely follow along if anyone does a Live Blog.  

It’s funny to come across this post!  I have witnessed this behavior on my last few cruises and was in shock at how violent these players can become!  Pure abuse is my opinion on this and absolutely should bring the attention of the casino staff over to investigate.  
But don’t people do that when they are doing those slot pull tournaments?  Everyone trying to get the most spins?
I'm not a casino lover so don’t know the ins and outs but it’s more appealing to see people sitting and enjoying their time at a machine rather than seeing someone trying to destroy it!  If I was the 🎰 (slot machine) I’d pay out to the nice person not the batterer!  😝 😂 
 

Just thought I’d add this cruise to the Rolls.  
We were originally planning the Spring TransAtlantic (2025) on Odyssey.  Once planning really took shape (there’s lots to plan for sure!) we made the decision to change to the Fall TA (2025) from Rome back to Bayonne!  That freed up our Spring so now this one is happening!
Who’s going this time?  Just myself and hubby with one other couple we’ve been cruising with for a few years now!
 
 

Every cruise.  From dancing fingers over the video display with every spin to all out hard hitting.
On my last cruise one guy a few machines down hit is so hard an alarm went off.

Not only is it annoying to sit next to someone doing this, but it's also frustrating to play a machine where the Spin button either doesn't work or it sticks because someone has beat the crap out of it.

I sometimes watch casino videos and they call them button slappers. But yes they affect the machine doing this, it is why some don't work properly. I had a lady next to me once on Odyssey that caused a machine to malfunction doing this, I was also shocked her hands weren't broken. 

Have you seen the people who bang on the play buttons, slap the screens and play wack-a-mole on the denomination boards? I noticed more than one person on Liberty who was doing this with zero repercussion's from the casino staff. I understand if you rub the screen or poke the bonus symbols but abusing the machine to the point it could break the screen is a bit much! Does anyone tell these people that the machine is a RNG? Crazy times! We board Allure in a few days and I would venture to guess we will see a few of the slot beaters. 

Coco Cay is always a favorite of mine, especially the beach club. I am definitely more of a chill and relax kinda gal, don’t like thumping base and too loud of music  and the food here is always better. The last time we were here, we did Thrill Island Cabana because the kids wanted the water park but without the kids, this is me…. Reading a book! That’s the whole point of this trip, Even @GregD brought a book. We have seen a couple lemon sharks, sting ray and some jelly fish, been in the pool and the ocean a couple of times and our waiter at the Beach club was just the best! He even brought us Chik-fil-a ice when I asked for some ice. He’s from the states and no one he works with understands the reference. If you come here, ask for Jeheil! He makes sure you don’t leave hungry. Now, I’m going back to reading till they make me leave! 😂

We made it up to the suite lounge for a bit before dinner. 
 

We had a nice chat with Willy. It turns out that he has zero desire to be a genie. He likes being a concierge, but doesn’t want all the stress running around the ship. He mentioned that this job is a break from his main job back home working at a science lab. His employer there is good to him and allows him to come back in his time off the ship. He likes to have a change of pace. 
 
He mentioned he was in Liberty while she was still in Texas and really liked the guests from there. He says compared to Indy, he feels Liberty is “vintage,” but still loved her. He has also been on Explorer and Oasis. 
 
We got some pre-dinner snacks and a glass of wine prior to heading to Izumi.

Massages today were good. It was slightly jarring when in the middle of the session, the cruise director came on to remind people to finish the muster stuff, which apparently they did, because two minutes later they played the sound and did all that stuff. 
 
Thankfully the hard sell of products really didn’t happen, and we got out of there quickly.
luggage was delivered quickly, and we were able get unpacked, and were on the balcony for sail away.

Small lunch at Playmakers today. We have an early dinner at Izumi Hibachi tonight, so we are saving some room. Also voucher #2 ✅
Impatiently waiting for staterooms to open up so we can unpack a bit. We have a couples massage this afternoon as well.
We have seen quite a few little humans so far, including one on a leash. So far they seem to be well behaved. I’m sure once they are amped up on sugary drinks all bets are off.

Meanwhile...I am sitting here at home doing my two week back to school day plans....
