  1. I thought items have to be cancelled before rebooking? If that is true, then it is better to call Royal and have the rep cancel and rebook for you especially if you booked something that has a time scheduled or maybe a cabana (with limited numbers). If the cruise planner does , in fact, require you to cancel first...at least when using the rep there is a better chance of saving what you purchased.
  2. Best price I have seen for the floating cabana is $999. That was for my April 2021 cruise that naturally never happened! ?
  3. Just for comparison...I have a 4 night cruise coming up in November and the soda/internet price is $23.00 (I am on Oasis - not sure if that makes a difference). I agree with Matt...purchase it now. No telling what will happen with pricing going forward.
  4. Absolutely tears of joy will be falling...? My first activity will be slowly taking in all the scenery as I walk? around the ship since I have never sailed on Oasis. I am also looking forward to finding a great spot to enjoy sail away!! ?️
  5. Welcome to the boards! Sounds like an awesome first cruise! I unfortunately am not able to provide you with advice about this except to say I would opt for the larger room. I have never stayed in a forward room so can’t comment on the movement. rest assured there will be plenty of responses to help you make your decision! Have an awesome cruise!
  6. So much speculation on what if and who can or can’t and when do we and why this or that etc...etc...etc! Honestly, I believe no one knows any answers right now...probably not even Royal!!! Everyone reads into information differently and everyone has their own opinions. My opinion is my opinion and yours is yours... I am all for sitting back and relaxing and waiting for the correct answers which truly can only come from Royal themselves. Why try to guess. After all...what will be will be. Just my opinion ??
  7. I’m not sure about that. My cruises are still on the old cruise planner too and gratuities are not included in that listed price. So my Nov cruise DBP is selling at $62 pp. Total price is $585.28 (for 2 people). But 62 x 4days x 2 people = 496. Add gratuities of 89.28 and that’s the total. sorry to burst your bubble! ?
  8. If your cruise is Oct 2021 then you should be seeing sale prices. Oct 2022...then probably not.
  9. LOL I've actually googled some of the acronyms I've seen reading all these blogs! Not only the ones related to the ships but other ones as well...such as: IMO (in my opinion) YOLO (you only live once). I think there are still a few I can't figure out!! I'm not on any social media and if I don't get a chance to ask one of my kids or grandkids what something means I just wing it! Finding a huge list would make life much easier for me!! so maybe I will finally get educated if some of our long-time bloggers decide to contribute to this! Oh...BTW ( ? ) looks like you are new to the message boards...Welcome!!!
  10. I have this sailing as part of the roll call! There are a few of us on the November 3 Oasis!!
  11. I think it depends on how far off your sailing is. My November 2021 and April 2022 cruises show that 35% sale banner but my November 2022 only has very slight changes...that one not worth doing anything with it. Not that anything is something to WOW about at this point!
  12. Yes, this sale is pretty sad! Definitely hoping to see maybe one more BETTER sale before my November cruise! Perhaps 4th of July or Labor Day?
  13. This is my first time commenting on your pool project. Just read through all the pages...and now cannot wait to see the finished product. Looking good!
  14. Check out the Roll Call section. Looks like there is at least one sailing in August with a few 'bloggers' taking the trip.
  15. I'm sure Cruise mapper is also not always accurate but it still has Odyssey's first sailing from FLL on Nov 15th. That RC app info sounds intriguing!
  16. I believe there are quite a few of us with bookings and many of them are for this year. Mine isn't until November 2022 so it coincides with my trip out to Tucson for a wedding.
  17. Welcome to the message board!! Since you booked through Expedia you will also need to call them to make any changes, if allowed. If the itineraries are similar...or even if they are not...both ships are a pretty great first cruise option. Also if they sail from different ports (which I believe they do) which one makes more sense for you (not sure where you live). I have not been on either so totally am not able to tell you which ship is better. Good luck with whatever you choose to do...and enjoy that first cruise experience!!
  18. I agree with the above responses. My advice (which I learned AFTER my 1st cruise) is to do as much research as possible to prepare and build excitement! Spacing out your cruise planner purchases is a great idea and absolutely keep checking for cheaper prices! Even your cruise price might go on sale and you can call Royal to get that lower price! Hope you enjoy this first cruise...you might end up like most of us...living to cruise!!! ?
  19. Rhode Island is dropping their mask wearing mandate for fully vaccinated people as of Tuesday May 18.
  20. WooHoo...my mask is now history!! Of course, I will keep it handy for certain circumstances...per CDC: The requirement to wear masks during travel -- on buses, trains, planes and public transportation -- still stands, Walensky said, and guidance for travel will be updated as science emerges. #Gears...thanks for providing the updated info!
  21. We used Air2Sea for our original booked cruise in 2020 and used CWC to cancel at about 40 days out. CWC allowed for the cancellation fee of the airfare to be waived...we got full refunds and had already paid in full for everything. For the cruise part we received FCC at 75% of cruise fare and were refunded 25% cash...along with taxes and gratuities. So we lost nothing at all.
