  1. Think we got another hint from Mr. Fain today. Short cruises first (to me that means - if you're on a 5-8d run, its toast this year). Need CDC approval on the plan so nothing can happen until then besides any crews must undergo the new training. I translate that as 2020 is toast.
  2. Based upon what Mr. Fain said in the blog - it appears restart will begin with short duration runs so any of the 7 day cruises out there are not going in the near term. Maybe we'll see some short holiday runs around the end of the year. But would agree 2020 is toast.
  3. If dominant number of early cruises are just 2-3 day junkets, the formal nights just fall away.
  4. Are you suggesting its would be a "cheese food" snack ?
  5. Standard operating procedures. Just keep watching for any drops.
  6. Were they trying to socially space you? ?
  7. Have you been following any ship blogs (crew) to see status of crew compliment? Many ships are minimally manned, others are closer to operational levels - that would be another signal to watch.
  8. CDC still would need to approve the Health Panel Back to Sail Plan (and determine which recommendations to adopt/publish/exercise etc)
  9. Just do not like packing all the extras. If its your thing than go for it, but we try to use a single checked back each on a 7-8day cruise. Single use clothing items take up too much valuable luggage space.
  10. It would help if we could get a repositioning cruise from Galveston to Miami and back again. That way we could easily drive to Galveston and have a B2B2B.
  11. I think its an excellent hypothesis and smooth way to right size the guest list.
  12. Where else can you do a helium balloon ride on a Caribbean island? Go for it.
  13. Even if things are allowed to start - guessing cruise lines would only begin with 1 or 2 ships for the first cruises. Due to personnel issues (cleared and trained crews), logistics including port availability, and to minimize risk if protocols break down. Those first cruises will be to test procedures - so min exposure, minimum number of ships.
  14. Alright! - I was getting the feeling I was the only one sentimental for the aluminum water bottles. ?
  15. If they follow what's happening in Europe, for the near term, passengers would not be able to leave the ship at ports unless on a cruise line sponsored excursion. Whether they would have a "shopping area bubble" for an area within the cruise line controlled areas is yet to be announced or seen. I would expect this to be the normal practice until the health concerns are mitigated.
  16. Great ports - especially Aruba. If you want to avoid crowds, take a car to Baby Beach. There's a nice bar with pool, bar, restaurant, locker room, beach amenities called Rum Reef.
