  1. When on-shore, watch where the crew goes for service. They know the best connection spots.
  2. Just turn on, listen if you want, but WAIT till the end. If you exit early, you'll get less points.
  3. We'll probably find out we need this thing every year just like an influenza shot. But this first round of pokes are key to getting travel allowed.
  4. I'm sure a few of you have seen this link. There are a small number of ships sailing , others planning to start Feb '21. MSC sailing one, and starting another from Italy. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/24279-cruise-ships-back-in-service-february-2021-update.html
  5. Yes the CSO is a lot of work for the CDC (bureaucrats don't like work, but like making others work) - not manned sufficiently to oversee across the number different lines at the same time. Could allow "self policing" - NOT, hire contractors? Interesting web to navigate. Maybe too onerous that no company wants to go the pain at this time?
  6. Amazing that C19 tests are not being discussed for domestic rail or bus. Lots of folks use public transportation - is that not an issue too? If you're going to restrict domestic air, gotta go back and get the other mass transit methods.
  7. A family was sitting by the pool, and one member asked what kind of water they fill the pool with -- fresh water or sea water? The cruise director answered, "Sea water." "Oh, that explains why it's so rough today."
  8. Early on yes - but the airlines are well versed in fly safe protocols that have not demonstrated any spreader events , so don't see the point at this time.
  9. I think its deliberate to actuallyreduce air travel for reasons other than minimizing spread. Adding requirements is a way to decrease passenger loading and force reduction in airline fleets and their operations. They're going to be highly regulated - so expect a contraction in that industry too.
  10. Just continue to add test or vaccination requirements to every phase of travel until no will bother will travel. Good way to say yes while saying no.
  11. Plastering is pretty entertaining too. Clopping around in boots with pegs to keep them from sinking into the fresh plaster.
  12. This discussion topic is expanding to a lot of pages. Supposed to cruise the Med in June - I think that's highly unlikely. Slight confidence we might be able to squeak out on Oasis in Nov '21
  13. Its a nice summary of the fleet "desirements". Wish it would all happen, but I remain skeptical of any summer '21 at this time.
  14. Sadly I'd have to agree with your prediction. We're going to be left with a very different cruise industry.
  15. Saw some Millennium in 2023 but also saw a few Vision OS and Explorer OS itineraries from PR in '22
  16. What do you call a fish without eyes? Fsh.
  17. Guess its not really a surprise. Someone had to be first. You could equate to when you travel to certain regions/countries and yellow fever or dengue fever shots are required. Remember those yellow immunizations booklets? Now you can put it in an app.
  18. I booked one for Dec, was excited that they use the Celebrity Captains Club model for point accumulation. Now that's out the window. Wonder if they'll even be in business by the end of the year.
  19. Late '22 early '23 Caribbean itineraries are out.
  20. I get it, but would the cruise lines sailing overseas offer the tests on-board prior to disembarkation, or will the traveler have to find a test after disembarkation? Thinking this will greatly reduce US tourist flow returning non-US territories. Most won't want to deal with the hassle.
