em.down.the.rabbit.hole got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in xSAILEDx Symphony of the Seas - Oct 29, 2023 - Nov 12, 2023 (14 Night Spanish Transatlantic Cruise)
Hello everyone, had a blast on the transatlantic last year on Wonder, so have booked onto the Symphony - can't wait.
I'll be looking to join a quiz team with my fellow passengers, especially for the progressive quiz - really enjoyed this last year.  Met some awesome people and made travelling on my own so much more enjoyable.
I'm flying out of Manchester 2 days before - @dboyd72 my tip if flying Vueling to BCN - select your seats as soon as you can (as they like to oversell this flight) and it's the UK school half term so riskier time.
For everyone looking for hotel suggestions - Gothic Quarter (good for transport to port in the morning - 20mins tops, and good for tourist stuff).  If you've picked a decent hotel (3* and above) - choose a twin room and it'll sleep 4 comfortably.
For anyone thinking of transfers in and around Barcelona - I use Booking.com, Taxi section.  There's an app that's good for this.  It feels like booking taxi's like the locals would do.  Prices really good and always reliable.  Can also use it to book a taxi on the fly (although I usually book in advance).
I look forward to meeting you all and lots of new people.  I'll be found in the Schnooner Bar 10am on Day2 😀.

Thanks all for your responses. I have rung Royal and they said my 13 Yr old niece is to go through check-in and boarding solo and would be allowed to do this.  But thanks for letting me know about the "in transit" card.

I was in NY when my 19yo daughter came to join me on my 2nd leg.  I went to the theater, was processed, given my next set sail pass and then the “in transit” or “checked in” card.
I scanned my seapass to exit the ship.  Once my daughter came through the security check I gave her the passport, she was checked in and able to continue onboard with me.
Ive no idea if the process would be similar for you.  Testing for me was onboard for my B2B but I do understand that they’ve done away with the testing for B2B

This is what you should do. Ask for an "in transit" card once you get your SeaPass for the second leg. Then you can disembark and meet your kid and take them through the check-in process. The "in transit" card will show the port workers they don't need to check you in again.

Wouldn’t you already have your next seapass card for the 2nd cruise?  Then you wouldn’t need to go through new cruiser process  again, right?  Seems you could disembark into the terminal as you are already “checked in” and accompany the teenager onboard.

This seems like something that would best be answered by Royal directly.  I would contact your travel agent or Royal Caribbean. They should be able to answer your question and make sure all sides have the relevant paperwork completed, if this is even allowed.

em.down.the.rabbit.hole got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in BEWARE ringing royal in UK - huge costs
    Hi All,
    To all UK cruisers:
There is a phone number on Royal's UK website, within the healthy sail pages, that is charging a fortune.
The number is 0844 493 5010 (screenshot attached).
This number is set up whereby the owner (Royal) can determine how much to charge for "access" ... ie they have premeditatively chosen the rate - and this a 'help' line.  I've attached a screenshot of my recent phone bill - be prepared for a shock!

I'll be on that itinerary in mid-June and I'm not too worried since the destinations are not anywhere close to Ukraine.

Just came off a 2 week B2B on Anthem out of Bayonne .   First week, 2800 passengers, second week 2500.  Total Covid cases  ONE.    In the second week, protocols were much more lax or loose. No more masks!  Life guards could finally take off their masks.  Hot tubs were filled to capacity  ( I counted 16 in one).  And hardly any restrictions in the main pool.    We Will Rock You  remains to be the best show on the ship. Cant say anything great about the rest. Casino was packed at night.   Port Canaveral... don't waste your money at this port on any excursions, there is simply not enough time .   Cayo Coco is good for a few hours and back to the ship for quiet time by the pool.  Nassau .....took the number 10 bus for $1.25 to Baha Mar resort and Casino.  What an amazing place. Lots of Hong Kong dollars went into the development of this place. It is stunning, and worth a visit.  Coastal Kitchen on this ship was not the calibre of quality that I experienced on Oasis class ships,,,, went 4 times in 2 weeks.  MDR was good. WindJammer, much improved I found.  Disembarked and paid $350 us  for parking  (ouch)  and drove to Wallgreens in Niagara Falls where I booked a free antigen test . Went in at 4:pm and got results by 6:00pm   I tested positive!  My wife negative.    So The Canadian government has me under 10 day quarantine and my wife 14 days.   They let us go home to Toronto to quarantine.

em.down.the.rabbit.hole got a reaction from Neesa in Royals new voucher code
    Hi All,
I was on the royal website and a popup appeared asking me to sign up for a $50 off my next cruise booking (so I typed in a spare email address not precioisly used) - but per usual I started on the US site when it happened, so this looks like a US only voucher.  "WELCOME" is the code and expires on 8th March.

Once they hit 13 they are charged adult prices for the cruise fare and for cruise planner purchases.

em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to MaryCS62 in Teen Prices on Cruise Planner
I've seen a few excursions that have child prices, usually a slight discount from the adult price.  However, I'm pretty sure that discount is for younger than teenage children.  For example, my cruise shows a bus tour in St Maarten, 38.99/adult, 30.99 for children, but it doesn't specify the age, & I can pick it, but it won't show the child's price because I'm not travelling with  anyone that young. There is an email for shore excursions where you can ask questions, but I don't have it handy.  Someone on this board probably does, & will chime in with it

em.down.the.rabbit.hole got a reaction from MamaShark in Cruise Planner Purchases on Cancelled Cruise
I filled out the forms for OBC at 125% and everytime Royal refunded, said there nothing on the account about 125% OBC, and said there's nothing they could do.  Kept saying they'd refunded the cancelled items, as if this was correct and sorted everything.  Across multiple cancelled cruises I'm out of pocket $100's.  I'm fuming as a lot of the time the new cruises don't give as good rates on planner items and I should have had extra $ to compensate for that.  So, truly out of pocket and sick and tired of Royal implying it's my problem as they have no record of the OBC request.
My thoughts are that you are going to get nowhere fast with OBC...I feel sorry for you and everyone else Royal has messed about.

@SpeedNoodles if @Temeculaguy did an Anthem sailing in August I'm pretty sure that makes them British (or UK resident), due to Anthem being restricted sailings in UK.  We don't have a dedicated CAS number - we have to ring the customer service number 0344 493 4005 and then select the CAS option.

Not sure such emails are sent on all ships. When we traveled on Jewel in July , GS cabin, we didn’t receive anything from the concierge before boarding. Booked again Oct 2.
