My question is how are they defining “fully vaccinated”. Somehow I think going maskless is going to be tied to boosters.
I hope not

Two important takeaways from Royal's decision to opt in:
1. They were already pretty much at 95% on every sailing ever since kids started getting vaccinated.
2. This change means face masks will become optional indoors. That's a big change.

So this means, boosters for everyone? If that's the case, I will have to cancel my back to back cruise that will put me on Diamond plus. I guess isn't happening. NO BOOSTER FOR ME!!

I saw a YouTube blog yesterday that said NCL opted in before they saw what came out …… and that they’re rethinking it nowThey opted in to quickly, they should have waited a couple of days.

My husband booked our first back to back cruise. 8 day Bahamas, followed by 11 days Transatlantic. We had done 3 cruises in the last 3 months. I can't stand the face mask. If Royal requires the booster, we will cancel everything! I rather to lose the deposit money. Enough is enough with this protocols after almost 2 years. I sadly will say goodbye to cruising.

Hey guys, is there still testing being offered at the Miami port for Canadian guests who need that to return home? If so, do you know the price?
There'll be 17 of us travelling and I'm stressed about where to obtain a reasonably priced Covid test to return to Canada. Paying $250 a pop at the airport for 17 of us is quit excessive.
Thanks!
My Mother in law had a test done last month at Miami Airport and payed $175 dlls for the PCR. We had the results in about 30 min.

Disappointing. I was hoping for a return to looser mask requirements now that Omicron has peaked in the US. I'll still go on my March cruise on Liberty but honestly, there are a lot of vacation options that don't require masks.
Agree!

Happy you got a good cruise! We were supposed to be on right now but my DW had a positive COVID test.
Oh no!! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can do your cruise soon.

It's not the virus itself that has a hold on the psyche of the population because we have lived with disease and viruses our whole lives. It's the over reaction of those in charge of us that has us scared and talking nothing but Covid19 as if it has the death rate of Ebola - it doesn't even come close.
As this is a cruise site, and I'm sure this thread will get locked soon enough, I'll keep the rest of my opinions on those in charge of the Covid response to myself.

The numbers on ships have been anywhere from 50 -100 positive cases. If my math is correct that's around 1% of occupancy. Someone Help me understand why shows and climbing walls and ice skating might be canceled. Two years into this pandemic we must go on.
Agree 100%

We just canceled yet again, not wearing a mask in 90 degree weather on top deck, hate to say it, after 20 cruises, we might have to find a new favorite vacation. I have the first shot, if the shots are not good enough, we’re holding off.
Cancun is our getaway vacation now.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

My March cruise it's canceled.
I pay with FFC are they going to offer me another FFC or because they canceled my cruise twice I should get my money back??

We just payed for our March 27th on Harmony and wish they would make a decision to go / cancel. If its cancelled we have plans all set to go to Cancun to an All-inclusive w/ the kids. Just would like to get it booked earlier rather than later due to airfares.
We are planning exactly the same thing. We love to cruise but Cancun has been our get away since it opened. Super fun and relaxing. Of course we sill miss crusing.

This is purely speculation, but I agree that March doesn't look good. I don't have a good feeling about May either, honestly.
Assume you made final payment? You can cancel and apply the FCC to May. If May is at least $500 higher (typical deposit for two), you can book now and apply FCC later once it's available.
If you're down to go on the March cruise assuming it sails and you've paid in full - sit tight and prepare to do a different vacation altogether - May might be too soon so you're just locking vacation money up on another trip with high probability of not working out. Once you cancel and take a FCC that's it, you no longer have that money as a cash option. I could be wrong, but even if they cancelled May and you paid with FCC they will refund what you paid in cash (the higher difference) and issue the rest in FCC.
I pay my March cruise with cruise credit plus extra money. If they cancel, I really hope I can just get my cash back.

I have a reservation for the Allure 7th of March. Really want to go, but I think they are probably going to cancel like every one else. We have picked out another cruise for May if this one does cancel.
I can’t book because the money we would use is tied up with the March trip. And of course the May cruise is higher.
Thoughts?
I have a reservations for March 7, I just want my money back at this point if they cancel.
I already had a cruise certificate because I canceled before they did for a cruise that we had back on April 2020. I still have to pay more money on a 5 day cruise that I know is so overpriced
My fear is that even if they cancel they won't give me a refund and they will try to give me that credit that I'm not longer have interest in. I would love to go back to crusing, I missed so much but it seems isn't happening and I don't want my money tied up anymore.

I have a certificate credit for a cruise that I canceled back in March.
Yesterday I booked a cruise for March 7, and I applied the credit that I have but I received an email charging me for the full amount of the cruise without discounting any of my credit that I already have. Why are they charging me for the full amount of the cruise?? Help!!
-
Oh no!
Ok, so we will book anything for March and we will see what happens. Thanks for the information
-
We canceled a cruise back at the end of March before our April cruise was canceled.
We opted to get the credit. Since we canceled before they did, we weren't offered the 115%
My question is.. we don't want the credit anymore. Can we get our money back?

I noticed my Transatlantic cruise on May 2, isn't longer on their website. What is this means? Is anyone doing this cruise?
