BTW, only one offer can be applied per booking.  Check the website while your cruising!

Only one offer of your own can be applied to one booking.

ex.  I sailed for 2 different weeks in February.  I earned an instant certificate on each cruise.  They each begin 2402C##.  I cannot use both offers on the same cruise.

however for March I sailed with the husband, who also gambled.  We each earned an instant onboard certificate, mine for a free cruise, his for $ off. I purchased one next cruise booking reservation and called casino royale to do my booking.  I inquired about adding hubby’s $ off certificate and we were each able to use our certificate on my free cruise.  His $ off was added and helped cover an upgrade as well as port fees and taxes.  My offer was an ocean view, and with his $300 off we moved to a balcony GTY (guarantee)-Royal will assign me a random balcony and I owed a  $23.  My OBC from next cruise went from $50 for ocean view to $100 OBC. because I moved into a balcony.

  2. Solo will get double points-as long as it’s not a designated solo cabin (that can only hold 1 person (most ships don’t have this) in an interior, ocean view or balcony.  You get 3 points per night in a junior suite or above.

Royal up will not get you any extra points.  Your points are based on the cabin you originally booked.
also be aware you are paying twice the amount of your bid, as is everyone else.

I'm trying to understand how I got this reward? Then maybe I can repeat this in the future. I didn't spend anymore of my money than usual. After all the comments and advice I guess I got more credits than in the past?

Clearly if you e never reached this many points in the past or you would  have  received a similar offer.

log into clubroyaleoffers.com and see if you have other offers, in addition to the instant onboard offer you received.
You just need your last name and crown and anchor #

come April you will receive an offer (in your club royale account) for a free cruise good for an interior cabin 7 day or less cruise and restrictions may apply (last year a lot of summer was blocked-also a ship cannot be booked until it’s out for a year)

  4. As @F1guynz explained, you earn one point for each $5 you play

its $5 of your money, or your wins(credits) on the slot machine

sounds like you had a lot more play time for your money, therefore you earned  a higher instant cruise certificate which comes with better cabin categories and has a higher trade in value. Additionally the list of cruises is longer for those certs than they would be for the lower point certificates.

hosts now have the QR codes on their desk along with the list of points needed for each category of certificate

  5. Adding, if it helps any….i was scheduled to be on the Bayonne cruise to Greenland when Hurricane Lee came traveling up the coast.  Lots of worry if we’d make it to Greenland!  In order to keep from going in front of the storm we set sail, as scheduled, and went to NYC pier )unscheduled stop) for an overnight (we missed Halifax).
on my transatlantic from Southampton to NJ there was a storm, we missed Bermuda and went to Halifax (unscheduled stop)
royal will do its best to keep the sailing, but may have to change ports, or just cancel some.
in the case of the transatlantic a lot of the Brit’s were saying their insurance covered missed ports.  My insurance did not. So read the policy to understand what you purchased.

I think this is an over reaction, however you are certainly entitled to it.

I don't think the paper cap on the water glasses has much bearing on Norovirus transmission

It would if they were not removed between sailings. I don’t know if the cleaners overlooked the glasses or the attendant forgot the lids on fresh glasses.  These people are overworked.  If they had cases of known Noro in the cabins they service those cabins received extra cleaning attention/which must add to their already stressful prep of 25 cabins between sailings.  I prefer to err on the side of caution, however you can call it overreaction, I’m not offended.

BTW, why did you have a feeling that they wouldn't be replaced? Were there other issues that you picked up on?

No other issue but I know the ship is on heightened cleaning.  Seeing that the glasses had no covers made me suspect they were leftover.  On this particular ship I had a cabin with no toilet paper upon embarking (can you spare a square?) and no towels another time.  So it’s either new staff issues, lack of time issues or poor work.  Based on those things I felt the glasses had been overlooked and I was hoping for fresh glasses, as asked, but realize the “easy way” could be to just put caps so I marked the one glass where it’s not noticeable.

  8. 2 weeks ago on Anthem my friend told her attendant she wanted evening service.  This was after she tipped him upfront for ice daily.  He informed her he does that section in the day time as he does his other section at night.  I was floored.  She gave in and was miserable.  The meaning of morning service was not what she thought.  He also was a lousy attendant- no fresh towels a few days nor the daily  ice she had tipped for.

you are supposed to be able to choose when you want service.

the layout of Anthem sucks for attendants in the forward section.
I had an interior cabin and there were at least 4 attendants in that small corridor working on cabins  it made no sense that such a small area had so many attending it.  I suspected they were all new.  My guy stunk   One of the few times I did not leave an additional tip.

Im currently on Anthem and I’ve not seen my attendant so we now seem to have morning service.  So be it, next time I cruise I’ll  leave a note with my preference

  9. Context:

Anthem has had norovirus onboard for at least the past 2 weeks. This is not surprising as the Northeast has high numbers of this. Last week’s sailing they resorted to deep cleaning of the ship and “deep cleaning of cabins with reported cases”.

so I brought along wipes and spray for the 4 cabins in our party and did our own deep cleaning since we’ve no idea if our cabin had unreported cases or undeveloped cases.

i noticed the glasses in my cabin did not have the little paper cap on them. I put them in the sink with a note requesting new glasses as these may not have been clean.  Mind you we ran the water in the sink for a day, washing etc,  before our attendant saw the note (due to scheduled cleaning).  I had a feeling the glasses would not be replaced so I put a sharpie mark along the bottom side.  Well the glasses had the paper cover  put o  them and put back on the shelf but the mark was still there! This indicates the glasses were not replaced!

    so, what do you do?
Personally I don’t want the attendant in my cabin again.  I feel given the awareness of norovirus this is gross conduct.  Hubby wants the room made up.
if you report this you have a disgruntled employee coming into your cabin.  I can’t imagine what “get even” thing might happen, -potential for him to purposely run some norovirus infected item on our items, )crazy  to think but it’s possible!.)
Wait for the end of the sailing and put the comment on the survey?
    Other recommendations?

if you use your glasses do the attendants replace them? Or just put them back and put new covers on then?

    Thanks for the replies.
I did not know it was possible for children to have their own room, the website doesn’t allow this so I’m unsure how this occurred.
I will contact the resolutions team and hopefully they can help.
The most annoying this is I have 10+ upcoming booking over the next 2 years, so only being Gold, I’ve missed out on $1000 savings in total for the upcoming booking where if I was the next tier up, I would have saved $100 per sailing.
Will see what resolutions have to say.
    Thanks all!

The “savings” they allege are not always there, and likely hardly there.  As a D+ I would look for my savings and it’s not all sailings, and they were scarce. Additionally if you book kids sail free you likely don’t get savings from your tier, they don”t usually stack savings

    • Royal should have a shuttle and it will leave early enough to get you to the airport.  Air2Sea does not typically book you so you will miss the first flight (their connecting flights are questionable).  Otherwise consider doing a walk off with your luggage if you make other arrangements.    Is this a TA originating in the states?  If so you have customs to think about too.  See if there is another flight that works for you and contact Air2Sead, they might still be able to make changes

A screen shot works? They accept that and scan that? Maybe dumb questions. 🤣

I screen shot all the time.  That way I can just have photos open and it is so much easier.
I read about the set sail pass in the  facebook group for our sailing and checked mine. 4 cabins linked and I can see 4 passes, open up another persons sailing and I see the same 4 and the 3rd person see 2 more I couldnt see and the 4th person-see 4 others but no passes for them....so missing 2 passes.....gone!  LOL  I' not gonna worry I think if I go far back enough in my photos I have the original screen shots of the set sail passes.  Royal IT must be at it again.

BTW-when I mention the passes are screen shot somewhere in my album....when I find them I will screenshot them again so they are at the beginning when I open my photos.

The Odyssey is a Quantum-Plus class ship. The main difference which affects this itinerary is there is no enclosed pool. That area is open so there are two outdoor family pools. I can only imagine how crowded the Solarium will be on the cold days coming and going from Bayonne. How many people will ignore the adults-only rule and bring their kids in because there’s no other option.

    It will be interesting.🤔

On the Presidents cruise Michael Bayley confirmed kids are granted access to the solarium during cold weather. Any restrictions were not mentioned.

celebrity announced kids will be permitted in the solarium on Alaska, The Balkans and Antarctica-I imagine in cold weather (said because I sailed Alaska in 80 degree heat). The hours are 5pm-7pm. Dinner time-so may not impact too many adults.  Crappy for families with kids though!

  13. Ho to next cruise and ask to be put on the call list if those sailings drop.

they can book you and you can keep the TA you are currently traveling under (if you are) or do the form to remove that TA from the booking (ask for the form) And then either A)put the new TA on the booking OR B) leave it with Royal and you’ll have 30 days to get the TA on the booking.(TA Does that)

or buy an open reservation-let your TA do the booking. (See above about removing any TA if needed when buying that open booking).  Don’t use the app for open bookings-it will automatically go to TA on file.

Not so sure you can get that group rate if you do the above…..perhaps a real TA here can weigh in.

problem I see, if your TA is booking and you don’t know it and then you are booking….youll be booked twice.

i should imagine there will be wifi at a port that you can make calls. Download WhatsApp which allows wifi calling if you can’t connect in the port.  Maybe your phone provider has service in your ports?

What are people’s thoughts on likelihood of pins one day getting punted from suite lounge? I want to say I have heard this already happens to lower tier pins if there’s a bunch on a particular sailing ? Forgive my ignorance if so.

I think their current system is “working” for them.  I don’t see any complaining in the Facebook pinnacle groups of not getting entry.  Doesn’t mean they aren’t complaining though.
As a new Pin I don’t see any communication regarding “you have entry” to the concierge lounge-but on my second 1/2 of the B2B where I made Pin on week1 I was told I’d have access when the C&A ambassador changed my seapass card from blue to gold.  This was a smaller ship I suspect she never would have told me otherwise though, as she never mentioned I could get breakfast in Chops.   Doesn’t really matter to me anyway, I sleep past the breakfast time, I really don’t go to the lounges-hardly did as D/D+ and I hardly use the 6 free drinks since I get free drinks in the casino due to my casino status.
just sailed solo but met up with a friend so I never thought to go try and see if I could get into the suite lounge (doubtful on Anthem as a newbie).  Maybe I’ll try on my next sailing!-if I remember. I’ll also try and remember to ask the C&A if there’s a formula.

I loved the idea of Sky Jr Suites when they were announced...but the fact that they are on a such a low deck, don't come with internet and are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive (which also bumps the price for GS up to the heavens) really makes me hate them. I would hope that in a year or so, they come down to a reasonable price but who knows.....

I think the answer has been found.  By creating a new class they can bump the price of the next class.

they probably rely on ignorant people booking the “better” JS or they’ll settle for this “less expensive JS” as opposed to the expensive GS.

  16. Booked for NOLA next year January with my daughter.  That leaves only Tampa that I’ve not scheduled or been to for as a US departure.  I will however be ending a sailing there so at least I get to see it.
can’t wait to see NOLA again, it’s been 10 years since I visited.

How is the port? Ease of entry etc.

I’m thinking of booking in the business/warehouse  district which puts me a good walk away from the “nonsense”.  Last time I stayed on Poydras St at Hampton Suites-loved it but they are full.

I am a Diamond Plus member with 407 cruise points.  I first reached Diamond Plus at 175 points.  That means that I have been Diamond Plus for 232 points. I feel like I have been Diamond Plus forever and yet I still have 293 point to go before reaching Pinnacle. Shouldn't there be another tier added somewhere between Diamond Plus and Pinnacle?

I imagine all those who reached Pinnacle felt the same….”took forever”.

After experiencing the Odyssey MDR it's going to be hard to go back to the earlier Q class MDR.

That’s something to look forward to  I’m booked on Odyssey next year-booked it 2 years ago due to the ridiculous price they had wanted for the following year cruise.  The cost I had for an Anthem JS couldn’t get me a balcony.  I’ll be trying out a regular OV for the first time on a Quantum class.(had a spacious OV  once-way to much walking back and forth to the cabin)  I didn’t mind the interior with the virtual balcony-I’m sure an OV should be fine.
