I agree. My wife and I are foodies on dry land and appreciate Wonderland for the unique experience that touches all of the senses. While I can understand why some don't like it, we view Wonderland as a memorable part of the cruise experience.

I thought that might be the case...thank you for the fast response. ?

Good day, everyone! We are going to purchase a cruise for my son and his fiance as a honeymoon gift when they get married next summer. Do the Crown and Anchor points go to them or would we accumulate them considering we're paying for the trip? Just curious.

RC to sail w/ passengers on what date?
JimnKathy replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We are sailing on a B2B Symphony of the Seas trip starting 9/19 (yes, it's right on the cut line) and have our fingers crossed. While I give us at best a 50/50 shot at making the trip (hey, sailing has to resume sometime, so why not then?), I'm mentally preparing (crying in my beer) to stay home if things don't work out. Godspeed to everyone as we survive this virus. -
Wait a minute...wait a minute...there's a bar in the Windjammer, too!? ?

That is great news! Happy Sailing! ?

Symphony is an amazing boat. Being that the ship was put to sea in 2018, the amenities of the rooms are great. We enjoyed an Oceanview room on deck 10 forward on our sailing last September and loved it. We are doing a B2B beginning 9/19 (fingers crossed) on Symphony because we love the ship so much. This time we booked an interior balcony overlooking Central Park on deck 10 (several floors above the park). As to when cruising resumes, I think the odds are 50/50 at best that we make our late September sailing, but I'm an optimist who hopes for the best in everything. Happy Sailing! ?

We're sailing with you on the 2nd leg of a B2B sailing on Symphony...fingers and legs crossed all around! ?

That's a great plan.

We're doing a B2B 9/19 and 9/26 on Symphony and lucked out with different itineraries...I just hope we will actually sail.

We're set to sail with you as well...fingers crossed.

I don't have a good feeling about this. . . .

I believe the problem is pretty simple...the company is scuttling all the ships today and is forcing the crew to work on dry land. Or it could be some system maintenance that is just taking a bit longer than anticipated. VelvetyDeafeningGraywolf-mobile.mp4 -
The Inevitable Cancellations -- NCL
JimnKathy replied to DunkelBierJay's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yep, RCL stock is down $4 a share in after-hours trading on this news...ugh! ? -
We are doing a B2B on Symphony in late September and have the UDP booked for both weeks...something tells me I'm going to be bustin' out of my clothes by the 14th day. ?

Yep, with the exception of Coco Cay, the missus and I will get off the boat for a local snack and a beer (possibly buy a refrigerator magnet at a gift shop). We like to get back onboard the boat and enjoy the extra roominess at the Solarium deck, bar and restaurant. ?

Order Limitations in Specialty Restaurants

We're sailing on Symphony again in late September/early October...you might want to do what I do and invest some time working off those extra calories on the Deck 5 walking track. ? -
Yep, that's definitely a $10 handshake opportunity. ?

Windjammer love it or hate it?
JimnKathy replied to R yeo's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
While we don't really enjoy the buffets, the one best thing I can suggest to anyone is to always use a knife, fork and spoon to eat...don't eat anything with your fingers unless you wash your hands after bringing your plate to the table. -
One bit of encouraging news is that the latest findings are that the virus doesn't seem to survive nearly as long as originally feared on public surfaces (tables, chairs, handrails, door handles, etc.). This could be a huge difference-maker for estimated sailing restart dates.

Passports on Excursions: To take or not to take
JimnKathy replied to anniejensen4's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I would suggest keeping originals (Passports) in your room's safe and always keep a copy on your smartphone while also saving a copy to the Cloud (Google Drive, for example) in case you lose everything. You will only be a few Internet clicks away from accessing your key documents anywhere in the world. -
We're sailing Symphony for 2 weeks starting September 19...fingers crossed.

What I've heard works pretty well is to make sure your shy kid attends AO at the outset of the first day so that they're on equal footing in regards to meeting all the other new kids. I think it would be more difficult if they show up after all the other kids have already broken the ice the day before. Good Luck. ?

Feasability of less than full ships
JimnKathy replied to Vancity Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
It would be interesting to know if there are any published case studies on P&L analysis of operating a cruise ship...not something I ran into during MBA school years ago.
