  1. I print everything for the same reason. It is also quicker at check in because I same not having to find multiple documents on my phone.
  2. I would call C and A phone number and ask.
  3. Maya Chan has a shuttle bus that they use rather than a taxi. As with anything, tips are optional but definitely appreciated by the driver.
  4. My family and I just passed our Covid tests for our Wonder Of The Seas cruise that leaves Rome tomorrow. We did the Emed tests in our hotel room. Stage 3 complete, bring on stage 4 tomorrow!
  5. It's easy but it helps to have a holder, as mentioned above, or a 2nd person to hold the phone at times. If you have neither, it can still be done easily.
  6. It can be done but is a long drive, 2hrs each way. The ship is in port until late do its very doable, but a long day. This is one where I would personally want to to a Royal Caribbean tour to avoid any issues with getting back in time.
  7. You are using the wrong TA.
  8. This service was a casualty of Covid that I doubt will be back. Very few people wear tuxedos on cruises these days.
  9. My neighbor (a Carnival cruiser) advised me to make sure I go to guest services and remove the tips because it makes the cruise too expensive. He also had some great ideas on sneaking alcohol onboard. I smiled and added another reason why I prefer Royal.
  10. They are 7 day cruises in Spring 2024. I am booked for March.
  11. I typically avoid Royal Excursions - Generally, you can get a better excursion for less money on your own. A few exceptions: 1. Tendered Ports- In these ports, there can be severe delays in getting off the ship depending on the tender setup and size of the ship. The Royal excusions will always get off first. Sometimes the time difference can be enough to strongly consider the Royal excursion. 2. Long/ complicated excusions - I would not, as an example, attempt to do the Tulum Mayan ruins excursion on my own from Cozumel. There is a ferry/bus involved and the timing is difficult. The ship will wait for the late arriving Royal excursions, they will not wait if you self-booked excursion is late. Because of the distance involved in travelling from La Spezia to Florence, as an example, I think a good argument could be made for doing one of the ship excursions. There are also multiple tour operators that have private tours that will do the same thing. These are reputable companies that would not operate for long if they were bringing passengers back after the ship has left. I am on Wonder of the Seas leaving next Thursday leaving from Rome and I have a mix of both excursions planned.
  12. I used the Loyalty Ambassador years ago on our first cruise to sign up. I always thought that one if their main functions was to get new members signed up. We also signed my son up on his 1st cruise and made sure he was linked to our account. Other than that, I can't imagine what I'd use them for. I'm guessing they are also responsible for ensuring that each C and A member onboard gets the proper swag in their stateroom, and dealing any issues which come up. Then there is the high maintenance C and A members who stop by with various issues. I'm sure they stay busy.
  13. I would also add that you can still get the booster to meet the requirement. I would recommend getting it just to avoid any issues.
  14. You do not need the booster to board the ship. However, you will not be considered fully vaccinated (The EU definition) and there will be some additional testing required for the Italy ports. Vaccination Requirement All Royal Caribbean guests age 12 and older must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with the final dose administered at least 14 days before sailing. For the best European cruise experience, we strongly recommend guests be “up to date” on their COVID-19 vaccination per the European Medicines Agency (EMA). To be considered up to date by all European countries we sail to, your vaccination must meet both of the following requirements. You received your final dose in your original vaccine series (or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson) no more than 9 months (270 days) ago, or a booster dose. Guests that have received a booster dose will qualify regardless of the amount of time that has passed since receiving their booster. Children who have received one dose (unless Johnson & Johnson) do not count as fully vaccinated. Your most recent vaccine dose is on this list of EMA-approved vaccines: Pfizer Moderna Johnson & Johnson AstraZeneca Nuvaxovid These standards apply to all guests age 12 and up (or 6 and up for Italy stops). Those who do not meet these standards will require additional testing onboard prior to going ashore in certain ports. Guests must be prepared to present their vaccination record showing all doses, including their original vaccination series, as well as any booster doses they may have received if applicable. Please make sure your entire cruise trip is within the 9-month window to be considered up to date for all port stops. If your vaccination was more than 9 months ago, you can get a booster with an EMA-authorized vaccine as late as the day before your trip, and be considered up to date by all countries. Children age 11 and under do not require COVID-19 vaccination to cruise. Kids age 5 to 11 who have been vaccinated and are up to date may present proof of full vaccination and follow the protocols and testing requirements for up to date guests. For additional details, see the section below. Royal Caribbean will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in lieu of a vaccination record card for guests of vaccine eligible age. All crew onboard the ship and at our private destinations are fully vaccinated and receive a booster dose as they become eligible. Read Detailed Vaccine FAQs
  15. It would definitely be 5 in the US. The terminals may be different in Europe but 5 is the most likely answer.
  16. Yes, I usually use the one that they email. If you can print it out, I would as it will save time at check in.
  17. I am pretty sure they say it takes up to 2 weeks, but I have always had it updated towards the end of the week I got back. I'm guessing you will see it by Saturday. Congrats on the promotion to Platinum.
  18. They are easy to use and can be done in a hotel room. Takes about 15 minutes. Results are emailed and loaded into the app within a few minutes.
  19. The price is attractive. I actually bought 100 shares back during Covid when it was trading at $36. It was over $100 pre Covid but has taken on a lot of debt to keep things running. RCI has good cash flow but still is not reporting a profit post covid. - The entire market is down, and a recession seems to be on the horizon - none of these things are good from an investment perspective. The good news is that capacity is up and Covid is entering the rear-view mirror in terms of its effect on the industry. The biggest concern in investing is bankruptcy. If a company you own stock in ends up in bankruptcy, you will end up with pretty much nothing on your investment. The company may reorganize, but there will be new owners - not you. If you buy RCI today, you are betting that this will not happen. If it doesn't, you will almost certainly make money in the long term.
  20. It can be used either way.
  21. Let your waiter know that you are trying to make the show. They can move things along if requested.
  22. She should plan to be at the meet and greet that typically happens on the 1st night at 7 or 8pm. This is often where kids will form groups. There will be plenty of kids in her age range.
  23. They will be able to make most drinks, including frozen drinks. They are free, so this is a good time to try some new ones!
  24. I've been there twice. It's worth it in the $79 to $99 per person range. I wouldn't pay more than that. It's nice and has a very good lunch, but the free areas at PDCC are also really nice.
  25. If it's been a while since you cruised, you will notice that both are less formal than 10 years ago. In general, the world is less dressy than it was. You will still see people dressed up, but I rarely see Tuxedos and formal dresses.
