  1. Dress as dressy as you feel comfortable with. You will see everything from suites and fancy dresses to shorts and t shirts. Some people enjoy the chance to dress up, while others want to stay casual. It's 100 percent up to you.
  2. You could always put you wife in one cabin, and yourself in the other to get around the issue.
  3. It is 95% of the people on board, so the 2000 vaccinated crew members change your math somewhat. You do bring up a good point as to how Royal would handle that situation.
  4. They are operating under a 95% vaccinated passenger protocol through the CDC. Although not required, following the CDC protocols protects them from liability and public relations issues should a Covid breakout occur on ship. Unfortunately, there is no way to do that without requiring children to be vaccinated.
  5. You do not need to make MTD reservations - you can just show up and be seated with whatever number of people you have.
  6. You can be 10 minutes late for check in with no issues. I would recommend every person have the app, but it is not required. I print a paper copy of our set sail passes that can be scanned and used as your sea pass card until you get the real thing at your room, Muster is easy. Just watch the video, listen to the horn sound and then show up to check in. Its no big deal if anyone missed something, they will just go over it quickly with you.
  7. I'm guessing because Canada still can't figure out how they want to handle things.
  8. I will add, that dealing with FCCs is one major reason that I now use a travel agent!
  9. I had similar issues when paying by FCC. In my case the invoice was actually much lower. It made sense if you accounted for the FCC but nowhere was there anything that showed how it applied. Good luck!
  10. It's impossible to say because there could still be late cancelations. Keep in mind that the abundance of Royal Up "wins" recently has been driven by Covid protocols. As more people get back to normal and cruise with confidence ends, there will be fewer upgrades.
  11. Yes, Yes, and Yes You get all of the perks with a Royal up victory, but you only get the crown and anchor points for your original room.
  12. There are quite a few different zip lines on Roatan - We have done 3 of them and enjoyed all of them. Roatan is set up perfectly for zip lines with lots of valleys to run the lines across. They are also reasonably priced vs other places.
  13. Book Maya Chan if it is available. Costa Maya Beach Resort - Maya Chan Beach
  14. Generally, yes. But I would always ask first if you don't have cash.
  15. My wife ordered this from room service and it was not good.
  16. I think it's a good strategy if you are bargain hunting and are OK with the MDR as a fallback.
  17. Passports are always better than no passport. A birth certificate works but there are issues that can come up that would make you regret that decision.
  18. Most mall employees are 16 and 17 - These are juniors and seniors in HS and have drivers licenses. Did you hang out all the time at home when you were in HS? You have posted this in multiple threads and while I am sure that you saw what you saw, I think you are putting the bad behavior of a few on the many teens that were not behaving the way you are describing. I am also 100% certain that the ships have EXTREMELY good camera coverage of the ship and that if teens were breaking things, they would be dealt with by security. Since many 1st time cruisers are reading this, In my experience, your description of the teen program (which by your own admission, your teens did not participate in) is not typical. I cruised a few weeks back during spring break with my teenager and did not see anything like you are describing from any teen. I also cruised last Thanksgiving and also did not experience any of what you are describing. I'm not saying it didn't happen, there are always kids that will misbehave - but you are condemning the whole program. Every parent is different, if you aren't comfortable with your kids being unsupervised, then its not for your family. But lets not act like it is outrageous for HS aged kids to be given a little freedom while their parents are attending a show.
  19. Unless you are big soda drinkers, you can easily survive. You can always purchase soda as you want it. As others have posted above, there are plenty of free drinks available.
  20. The teens are mostly High School age are a surely allowed to be in situations at home where they are unsupervised. While I'm sure that there are some who are unruly and ill mannered, I don't think it describes the majority. As a parent, you raise your child to make good decisions, including who to hang out with. You know your child and how much trust you give them not to be in trouble on the ship. Most of the teens like to hang out and get to know other teens - some form friendships that last well after the cruise. One thing I enjoy as a parent of a teen is that we can go on a cruise and my wife and I do not have to constantly find ways to entertain. We get to do the things we like to do, my son gets to enjoy the things he likes to do. We set times to check in and he always has to eat with us. I trust my son to make good decisions, just as my parents trusted me when I was in High School. Was I always perfect? - no! but I knew enough not to get into major trouble.
  21. Buckets of beer are awesome! A lot of people actually don't know they can order them. My favorite thing to order at the pool deck is a bucket of Red Stripe.
  22. Unless something is different in your area, Covid rates are very low right now. I would take reasonable precautions, but I would be a lot less worries now that a few months ago.
  23. I meant testing to enter EU and return to US. I know the cruise will still require it.
