  1. I concur. No dining package on my Grandeur Christmas +NY cruise or on my Navigator Thanksgiving cruise.

  3. I actually do not know the answer to this question but I strongly suspect that you would just be “out” the money that you spent on the unused portion of your dining package. Before I would let that happen (have unused dining options) I would ask if I could use one of my dining options for a lunch at one of the specialty restaurants on a sea day. I doubt very seriously that they would refund any money to you or allow anyone else to use your specialty dining package.

  6. We are on the NAV 18-22 Nov and our drink package price is $45 PP/PD. I'm thinking about just waiting until I'm on board and checking out the D+ discount. I've never tried using that before. Also, very interesting that they are apparently "sold out" of specialty dining packages for this sailing. First time I've ever heard of anything like that. My guess is that b/c it is Thanksgiving week they aren't offering any packages just like they do for the Christmas + NY cruise we're on in December. That seems a little arbitrary to me since there is really only 1 holiday and that's the last day. Whatever. The MDR has great food. I'll just save my money.
  7. The only warning I would offer is to be SURE that's actually a deep sea fishing excursion and not a bottom fishing excursion. I have never actually seen a true deep sea fishing excursion offered through RC.
  8. Robert I am so glad to hear from you. I was really worried about you and your family. Having spent many years in Cherry Point I love the area and hated seeing the devastation. Sooo glad you are all ok and that whatever damage you sustained is manageable.
  9. No. The package is for fountain drinks...HOWEVER, I am a Coke snob and I hate fountain cokes (same objections that you have). I have had a few "issues" where the attendant balks at giving me a canned coke (most notably at the WJ on Liberty 2 weeks ago) but 100% of the times I have insisted, I was able to get a can when I asked. I am always able to get a canned coke in the casino and in the Diamond or Suites lounge. They will tell you that the package only includes fountain drinks but will eventually concede if you insist.
  10. Matt, do you have to have at least 4 days remaining on the cruise like it is for the drinks package or can you purchase Voom at any point ?
  11. These are Dan and my annual comp cruises from the casino. Beginning to question the timing though. February out of NY ? No wonder they were free ! ??
  12. Lorraine, I have only been to Coco Cay once and I simply do not recall whether the casino was open while the ship is in Coco Cay or not. Another thread indicated that it is open in the late afternoon. Of course, with Grandeur, you are always going to have the casino shut down while she is in the Bay but once out to sea the casino operates at a standard itin. I don't think they actually have to be 12 miles offshore to open the casino and shops. I think as soon as they leave the port they usually are able to open (reinforce THINK). I sure hope so as we will be on a B2B on Anthem in Feb. on this itin and I will be very disappointed if the casino is not open every evening.

  14. I'm interested to hear the answers, too. Our next Star Class cruise will be on Anthem. We've always done Star Class on the O class ships.
  15. Interesting. I have never heard of any other cruise line giving you casino status based on another line. For goodness sakes, Celebrity won't even grant you status based on your RCCL's status !
  16. There is an IT "glitch" that gives you this error message if you are logged into your My Cruises account and try to go to the Online Checkin. Wait about 15 minutes and then, instead of logging into your My Cruises, go to the "Already Booked" link at the top of the home page and log into your cruise that way.
  17. UGH. To make the whole luggage thing worse, Dan wanted to carry our bags off and I insisted on letting them take them to the luggage warehouse so I am having to live with the [unspoken] "told ya so". Believe me, we will NEVER let them take our bags again. I won't fight Dan on it ever again. I just hope that they find it and get it back to us, eventually. Did you get the second bag, too (the one from Anthem) ? No, the MSC cruise in December 2019 is just to make sure that we keep our Black status (a status match to our rccl D+). It is only good for 3 years and if you don't take an MSC cruise in those 3 years you will lose the status and you cannot apply for the status match but once. It is an incredibly affordable Christmas cruise in the Yacht club, but it is not a comp. Guess we'll see how that goes....
  18. I agree that the process is a bit confusing. There are no "tickets" as such. You are simply promised a seat somewhere in the theater. It may or may not be together with your family or significant other if you arrive late.

  20. I really have no idea, Sabrina. This has never happened to us before. Since I am in lovely, rainy WV this week I do not have the time to check on the process. The RCCl agent did say that if they found it they would ship it to us at no charge. No kiddin'.....
  21. So...today was disembarkation from Liberty. All I can say at this point is....disaster. 1. Galveston suffers from the same problem that Miami did on our last cruise on NAV. Priority disembark is a total joke. The Suites Concierge (MJ...who was great all week) let us escape through a secret door behind The Schooner Bar. That’s it. No priority suites line, no personal escort no expedited suites line at Customs. We were just sent out to queue up with everyone else at the back of the longest line. Very disappointing. But that’s not the worst part. 2. When we got to the area in the luggage warehouse to get out luggage, our biggest bag was missing. We hunted, the luggage handlers hunted, even MJ (who finally showed up after we had all traversed the gauntlet) looked for the missing bag. Nope. Gone. We figure someone either accidentally picked our bag up by mistake OR someone stole it OR the baggage handlers misplaced it to the degree that nobody could find it. A lost bag is bad enough but I have to board a predawn flight for Charleston, WV which would have meant immediately repacking anyway but now half my stuff is missing. We don’t even get home until after 10 PM and I am going to have to find someplace to purchase hair brushes, hair dryer curling iron and various other lady items that I haven’t even thought of yet. It was always going to be a tough turnaround but now it’s even harder. We have travel insurance so if the bag never shows up we will get some reimbursement but never what the actual losses would be. Let’s not even talk about the weather which is threatening to F up everything! We had such a great cruise. I hate that it’s ending this way. Dan and I were both awarded complimentary cruises from the casino but I will NOT be coming back to G-ton. Pity. The Liberty is a beautiful ship and we enjoy this ship Class a lot.
