  1. Awesome price!! I was thrilled when my 2 bdr ats on Allure for October 2020 dropped to 13,135 total for 6 adults ... yours is the best price I've seen for this
  2. While I agree that on the surface that logic seems faulty, in some cases it could make sense. If the bidding for royalup was robust enough, and the upgrade chain sufficiently long, it could pay off. In your example, a $6000 owners suite is held aside. And the royalup starts at a crown loft, and continues through grand suite, jr suite, ocean view balcony, central park view balcony, ocean view, and interior. An average bid of $900 would yield $6300, and the now empty interior room could be sold for $1500 more. After the dominoes fell and the inexpensive room was sold, $7800 would be realized in this example, plus a whole bunch of goodwill would be established. I could be completely wrong, but the math is insane enough to work sometimes.
  3. From experience, using the online redemption approach can take some time. I was told, after asking, that it will be posted as late as week prior to sailing. Also from experience, if you call and request that it be expedited (for an upcoming black friday sale for example) it can post immediately.
  4. While there is always a sale, a bump in the instant savings promo appeared today (up to 450 off) and other promotions (resident, senior, etc) were added to additional salings this week. For example, our october trip on the Allure decreased 2109 earlier this week (Star Class), the new sale saved an additional 127 today. I know... royal math ??
  5. I had to look it up. There is an elevator and both bathrooms are accessible.
  6. I have no experience with travel agents, but I wonder if it would warrant a call to RCI directly to see if they can adjust the price for you.
  7. Has a trend been established? Has a new tradition been created? ?????
  8. I'm not sure we've managed the first minute ... but maybe within 2! ?? .... on the Adventure the schooner bar is open at embarkation and a very short walk from the entrance! ????
  9. My information was from September 2015 on the Adventure. They had a table set up at the entrance to the windjammer with a pile of soda cups and representatives eager to sell. I dont recall seeing that sign since ... or maybe I just haven't returned to the windjammer since then ? I thought it was more recent . Time flies like the wind ( and fruit flies like a banana... ?)
  10. My information may be outdated. 3 or 4 years ago, I read the signage at the DBP display onboard and that feature was part of their pitch. Admittedly, I have not paid attention to those since, so things may have changed.
  11. This glitch must be hit and miss. I checked all of my bookings and all dining was at full price.
  12. Most excellent introduction, we looking forward to following your posts!! ???
  13. I agree ... with that price for Star Class ... the cabana is essentially free ...? As you may be able to tell ... I am a seasoned veteran of justifying such purchases ??
  14. I can recommend the Chill Island cabanas. While there are many many options at cococay, we have been there twice and the cabana is quiet, relaxing with an incredible view, a high level of service and is close to the water. Prices will vary. Generally $999, but they do go lower. Last trip ours was $369. Perhaps the $18 drink package intern was on cabanas that day! ??
  15. I checked and even with New York resident pricing, the remaining Panoramic suites are around $6000 total. I'm guessing there may be more resident credits available
  16. While this is not specifically on the original topic, I also looked into future bookings today and realized significant savings on the Allure in October 2020. They added a resident credit, they have the wow sale savings and there is a Star class promo available. Most of these aren't published with the sales promos, but certainly are worth exploring!
  17. Checkin is in the account section: at the top of the screen, it is the icon that looks like a silhouette of a person... to the right of the calendar icon
  18. I have seen this before where the app insists that checkin is always a day away while the website is active for checkin. I have been successful using the app after forcing a refresh of sorts. In my case, selected a future sailing and then went back to the trip in question and checkin was working fine.
  19. I would suggest taking it step further ... say you're 30 .... in base 21 ??
  20. This may be a new feature, I have not seen this offer. I have seen the DBP being offered for the first 3 days where you pay for all 7, but it is retroactive ... "forgiving" your beverage and bar charges up to that point. Depending on one's level of indulgence.. it could be a real money saver! ??
  21. This is a good question, but one that has a easy answer: the beverage packages are charged by the number of nights as defined by the itinerary. In your example, the daily rate would be charged x7 x number of people x1.18 (for 18% gratuity)
  22. The probable explanation is that the promotion being offered by Royal caribbean changed between bookings. When you booked the first rooms there likely wasn't a general OBC being offered, and it was $100 during the second. NextCruise offers 2 options: a price reduction, or an onboard credit. Advice I received was to take the onboard credit, since it persists if you reprice Assuming you took the OBC option for NextCruise, you CD can contact your travel agent or RCI to reprice the other reservations with the additional promotions.
  23. Essentially a free cruise. I think RCI took care of their customers here. Not ideal in all aspects (missed ports, etc) but, from what I have seen in reports, better than their competitors.
  24. Last cruise I saw Truly being consumed, I think that is the only hard seltzer that I saw.
  25. I was going to mention that! Good news: they have a fail safe... you can each only book 3 while onboard ... the "damage" can be limited to 6 per couple! ???
