Nothing for us in October 2020 or January 2021. At the same time, we have seen no action on our cancelled cruises, perhaps there is a correlation.

High High prices on beverage packages.
Ogilthorpe replied to Baked Alaska's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I have limited insight currently, but it appears that the prices are adjusting, in some cases, back to normal ranges ... my October 2020 Allure is showing $60 at 20% off and the February 2021 Anthem is showing$77 at full retail. Clearly it is time to book additional cruises!! -
Air 2 Sea and Cruise Planner Confusion
Ogilthorpe replied to DublinFC's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I have not seen this. From my experience. Air2Sea reservations are a part of the cruise reservation package and are paid along with the final payment. Like the cruise fare, while guaranteed, can be price adjusted until final payment if they become more favorable. -
Even when cruising resumes....

I still much prefer "Floating Pastry Dish" Thank you @Zambia-Zaire and @SpeedNoodles One of my favorite autocorrects ever! -
A man goes to a psychiatrist and tells the doc he is having a dilemma...some times he thinks he's a teepee ...other times he thinks he's a wigwam. The shrink says, "I think I see your problem, you're two tents"

They probably need the final figures from accounting on how many $18 BDPs they refunded ... then the prices will drop! ?? -

I embrace their opinions, less competition for my preferred sailings and stateroom selections ????⛴?? -
Q: every fall (for those of us in the north) the geese fly south for the winter. For a few weeks, you can look to the sky and see large formations of geese flying in a giant "V". One curious aspect of the formation is that it is not balanced, one leg of the "V" is always longer. After years of research, they now know why. What do you think causes the phenomenon? A: More geese on that side! ??

RCL cancels all cruises thru 9/1/20 .....
Ogilthorpe replied to Wnuk's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I plan to strive valiantly to improve those numbers! It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it! ?? -
Did they assign you a good room at least? ???

It is a complex, but mutually beneficial relationship. Headquarters in the US, thousands of employees, hotel, airline, restaurant impacts along with ports, dock workers, local suppliers etc, balanced against foreign registration, regulations, taxes, etc. Perhaps all of this will give all involved an opportunity to upgrade those relationships and we may even see some US registered ships when this is over.

RCL TMZ Story - True or False?
Ogilthorpe replied to YOLO's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I saw that story and believe it is highly misleading. Without knowing all the details, it appears that the nurses booked with a charter company that sponsored group cruises. It also seems that the charter company chose to cancel and the results are per the charter companies rules not RCCL. Noting that the FCC is good until 2023 indicates an arrangement different from customers booked with Royal. Sensationalist media using the Royal Caribbean name as an easy target currently. -
On a related topic: I talked with the rewards department today and learned that if you had RCCL Visa rewards applied as OBC, they are holding those and you can move the OBC to your replacement cruise. Call the rewards department (888-305-4626) and provide both your cancelled reservation number and your new one, and they will make the transfer. They told me this also applies to NextCruise OBC if you had it on the cancelled sailing.

I have not yet received mine either. I called and when I explained the situation, the rep told me to that my reservation was just "sitting there" . Perhaps it was volume or glitches in the system but he investigated. We have been having ongoing email exchanges and are now on course for 4/13 or before.

. There is not currently a suites only area at Cococay. There was one for a period of time prior to the completion of the upgrades. That area is now Chill Island.

Next Cruise Booked- Changing Dates?
Ogilthorpe replied to bossdog421's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Having recently booked and revised a NextCruise booking, I can confirm that 60 days is the free change period from the original date of making the reservation. -
From reading the RCCL post, the excursions. Etc can be included in the 125% FCC, but you must opt-in by April 8. Otherwise, they will be refunded at 100% to the original form of payment. There is an opt-in link in the email notice as well as their messages posted online.

14 CREW TEST POSITIVE ON OASIS OF THE SEAS
Ogilthorpe replied to Mike.s's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
There were reports last night that the coast guard brought in 2 crew members 1 from the Oasis and 1 from the Symphony into Fort Lauderdale for treatment ? -
Soft drinks on a cruise? I hadn't noticed! ???????

I've not switched cabanas at Labadee, but I do know that waterfront and over water cabanas at barefoot beach are in short supply. The location and view as well as the density of passengers are excellent. You don't mention which ship you are on, but with an OS being sky class on Oasis and Quantum class, they likely would be reserved by Star Class (approximately 4 weeks ahead) when you have your opportunity to reserve (about 1 week out). If you are able to gain your preference, you would have plenty of time to cancel Nellie's beach.

Sequential cancellations using FCC
Ogilthorpe replied to Ogilthorpe's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
After reading it a second time ... (and a third,) it is a bit of a classic word problem. I think, upon further review, your assessment is correct. You receive 125% of whatever cash you provided, accross all of the bookings that are ultimately involved. -
Sequential cancellations using FCC
Ogilthorpe replied to Ogilthorpe's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Ooooo... sounds like they are stackable! ....or would that be considered recursive? ... or compound???
