Thanks for the relies.  And, more to the topic at hand, asking about OBC should never be a problem for a TA to answer.  Either they offer it or they don't but they certainly know there plenty of TAs that do and if they're any good at their job the response will be polite and professional.
I read the link posted up thread so there are limitations.  But, it's certainly clear any TA can offer OBC so shopping around and inquiring should never be a problem.  It was one of the criteria we had in booking our up coming cruise.

    Hey Mike,
This is not same question/issue the OP had.  If your OBC shows up in the Cruise Planner check-out you can certainly choose to use.  There is a an option for you to do so.  But I have had many OBCs which don't show up until I board the ship.  If this happens to you then you will have to pay for your planner purchases now and wait for your OBC once you are on the ship.

If you have Amex Platinum and you book thru an independent travel agent that’s affiliated with them, on 5 day plus cruises they can get you between $100 and $300 OBC from AMEX depending on your room category.  You don’t even have to book thru AMEX, your TA just has to have an affiliation with them to be able to add the OBC from AMEX to your cruise planner account.  We have 8 cruises booked over the next 18 months in suites and have a $300 OBC in our cruise planner for every single one of them from AMEX ........  it way more than covers the yearly AMEX Platinum fee.

It should be available for pre-purchasing stuff but it doesn't show sometimes until closer to the sailing.  If you have a TA you can have them check on it for you and they can usually get it applied earlier.

If you phone and provider support WIFI calling (Verizon does) you can activate it (before you go on trip).  Anytime you car connected to WIFI, including on the ship, your phone will work as it normally does.  Get on board, enable airplane mode, then turn wifi back on.  This ensures you do not roam on cellular networks.  Once wifi connects, phone works just like normal.  Send and receive texts and phone calls.

Oh, and yes...  You will need to subscribe to the onboard Voom.  Otherwise  you have to wait until you can hop on a free land based wifi.  But, everything will still work like above, even when international.  I read somewhere else that you MUST activate wifi calling on your phone before you go international because you cannot activate out of your home country.  I have not verified this fact.

I used the WhatsApp app to text with my daughter on Independence in April. It worked really well and we didn't have any issues with the WiFi on board.

That is the million dollar question. lol
The past two year, it has varied.  Some Adventure cabins got a refresh, Mariner and Indy did not, Navigator also got refresh.  I have not seen anything about Oasis cabins but I sure hope that the answer is yes.

This is a cool thread.  I love seeing the how it all goes together.  I have tried to find technical data on these ships (center of mass, center of buoyancy, righting moment, etc) but there's little out there.  Has anyone ever run across that level of technical information?

RoyalUp offers can show up with absolutely no correlation to inventory.  It's a way for them to gather offers in case of a cancellation.  Of course if there's availability you would have a better chance if there was a room available..but there's no guarantee of that.

We were on the Allure - one of the ships enhanced to work with the new app. We just used the free Royal Caribbean App's messenger and it worked great.
The only thing we didn't like was that you have to be on the ship's wifi to use it - and unless you are paying for the surf or stream packages through the ship the app is the ONLY thing that will work once you turn their Wifi on. So when we first got on the boat in Florida we turned our WiFi on to connect to the app. Then we couldn't iMessage other's back home - because it uses the internet to send - without first turning our wifi back off. Then to see if we had messages on the Royal app we had to turn on the wifi again - now not knowing if we had anything sent to us on iMessage. It was a slight inconvenience and really wasn't important. Only impacted us on 2 days - one the embarkation day and the other when we were docked in Mexico as our cell plan includes Mexico.

My wife and I both have iPhones so imessage worked well.  Pictures were iffy even with Surf and Stream though. Seemed to be hit or miss.
Facebook messenger worked great for pictures, whether we texted each other or sent people at home pictures.

Edited to add this was on Vision.

I love them~!  The ones that I use actually hang  - so once you arrive you take it out of the luggage and it hangs in the closet.  Only having to hang those clothes that need to hang for wrinkle release ?  https://www.amazon.com/Stow-N-Go-Portable-Luggage-Suitcase-Organizer/dp/B01N9KMI1Z/ref=sr_1_4?crid=JVPBS5EDFXNJ&keywords=hanging+packing+cubes+for+travel&qid=1571067203&sprefix=hanging+pac%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-4
