mark.s got a reaction from ANGELA ROMAN in BEWARE!!
so, our cruise out of Port Canaveral is being cut from 4 to 2 nights. Basically... its an overnight cruise. Rep said if you go... we'll give you FCC for the pro-rated days you missed. We'll pro rate everything . I said.. what if we don't go? He said.. we'll give you FCC for the price you paid for the cruise less taxes, etc towards another cruise. He quoted me the amount I paid, which didn't include my accepted Royal Up bid. I then asked...what about the Royal Up? He said, i need to ask my supervisor. Put me on hold and came back and said, "My supervisor said sorry, but you forfeit that Royal Up cost and there's nothing we can do" I just about came unglued. I demanded to to speak to his supervisor and was on hold for 25 minutes. I just hung up. This company is unreal. I'll have to take this back up in the morning. This cruise would have put me at Diamond Level.I've given this company a lot of my vacation money over the last 16 years. If they don't make this right, I'll never give this company one more cent. Very disappointed in RC.

I would call Royal again and contact Royal via Twitter. If not, refer to your travel insurance coverage or your credit card you used for the Royal Up bid. You may be able to recoup the costs through those channels. Good luck and hope everything works out.

Relevant topic for me here, we booked at GTY balcony on Navigator for next month, got assigned corner aft balcony (6688) and was worried till I read so many positives on this board and elsewhere. I still bid on JS and GS anyway ('cause more is better ?) to roll the dice but am reconsidering just cancelling and keeping 6688. You all really know how to showcase the positives ?

I stayed in an Aft Balcony on Navigator. It was splendid, I liked it better than my JS on Explorer. It was so big it fit all 5 of us (my 3 kids were in an interior cabin just a few doors away). We had breakfast there a few times, plus sail aways. It was deck9 or 10, cant remember.
Wish I was in one this time, but i only booked 95 days out so there were none left. So i'm on the Hump.

I Have Sailed In A Aft Jr. Suite On Mariner Last Year And I Was On Deck Six And The View Was Alright. My Opinion Is Any Aft Cabin Higher Than Deck Six The Better View.

If it helps if you find pictures from any of the sisters (or near sisters) the aft structure is functionally identical on all of them. I have sailed Freedom, Indy, Liberty, Adventure, Mariner and Navigator in the aft balconies on decks from 6-10 and loved every one. Is there metal in your line of sight .. yes absolutely but you can still see a ton of water and have a huge balcony to enjoy it from.

Keep checking back with them just in case more rooms do pop up - but I agree I like the aft area like
others have commented

Thanks to everyone who replied. This is exactly why I joined this board. There is little chatter/pics/video on JS Aft for Mariner and those that I saw disappointed us because the super structure was so prevalent. It looks so far back too. What we did see was mainly from Explorer. I scoured the internet and YouTube looking. If anyone has actual pics of an actual JS Aft room on the actual Mariner on the 7th deck...that would be great. We are hoping for the best and it would be great if we become AFT converts.

I love this all of these except deck 6 (same level as that wide open space) and I think you truly lucked out. I have customers that "had" the same aversion until they were in one. How quickly most folks forget it was ever an issue. Hope that's what happens in your case too!

All I can say is I would be extremely happy with a Deck7 aft JS. Give it a try.

I did ask. No rooms avail ( I would need 2 balcony rooms adjoining). We always do GTY rooms on Disney with no problems. Our worst case scenario happened this time around with RC
