We're only 3 weeks out, now! Very excited. We have our shows booked, and researching "on our own" activities in San Juan and St. Thomas. My partner and I were also wondering whether there were LGBT meet ups? Where does one locate those?

We have booked this cruise too for our honeymoon next May!  Very excited!  This is our first cruise and we are really looking forward to it.

Well - we decided to book on Ovation: 8 nights from Vancouver to Seattle. Excited for it and now just need to wait 13 months. 🙂

Hi All 
My partner and I are traveling with his brother and sister-in-law on Oasis in Feb 2020 for his brother's 40th. Super excited. This is our first cruise and I'm trying to gobble up all I can learn on how to get the most of this experience. So excited! 
Also, we transferred our bookings over to MEI after we booked because I stumbled across this blog and read the amazing reviews. 
Thoughts, tips, etc. welcome on Oasis. And if anyone is also on that voyage, look us up!

They are usually listed in the Cruise Compass.  In fact the first one I pulled up from the blog's archives has it listed as "LGBTQ+ Meet & Mingle".

We will be visiting Amiga Island in February and cannot wait!

Do they have gingerbeer? I sometimes like mixing that with scotch and citris. 

Have a plan but stay flexible.  We had all our shows booked in advance, but on our last sea day we realized there was a teen rock wall competition that my 16yo son wanted to do that conflicted with a show.  We ditched the show for some spontaneous fun, and I had to stop myself from feeling like we lost out on our plans.  You just can't do everything and that's ok.  BTW, my son won the rock climb and his joy was worth the change in plans. ?

I second this. Had the same experience on Oasis but just lucky it wasn't something we knew ahead of time. Had booked it for second night but it was cancelled due to technical issues with the floor in the pool but was able to see it on the last night.

Assuming you don't have to avoid Central Park due to allergies  remember they have lots of afternoon and evening musical performances; really a very intimate setting that won't blast your ear drums as the noisier venues do.  Have a great trip!

Hey Everyone! Cannot wait to cruise on Oasis come Feb 16. Question for you all (followed by a little preamble): I've been doing a ton of reading, watching videos, participating in any and every forum discussion - all to really get a good sense for what we'll want to do on the cruise. Only 7 days and there's no way we can do EVERYTHING on a ship like Oasis. Question: For those who have sailed on her in the past - on your first cruise on Oasis of the Seas, was there something you learned about at the END of the cruise that you wish you had done (or wish you had known about earlier?). Love learning from all you expert cruisers!

No group like RCBlog that I'm aware of for Celebrity. There is a Celebrity-specific forum on Cruise Critic, but they're a bit more... cantankerous... at times than the folks here. I guess they don't have as many nice Canadians on that forum to help keep things mellow. ?

I have LOVED RoyalCaribbeanBlog. I wonder whether there are similar resources dedicated to Celebrity? We're sailing on the Edge (booked through MEI Travel - THANKS STEPHANIE!!!!) and want to figure out the tips and tricks for it like those we've gathered for RCC.
 
 

My partner and I were planning to bring 2 bottles of red with us for our 7 night cruise. However, 2 bottles will typically last us three, maybe four dinners. Since we will be having 7 dinners (and perhaps wine with a lunch or two), we have been wondering which would be more cost effective:
ordering a bottle at a meal (I cannot find the prices for bottles of wine served in dinning rooms on Oasis of the Seas) or doing one of those gift things and having the wine delivered to the room as a gift, purchased from RCI. 
Second question though, if we do order a bottle of wine before boarding from RCI as a gift (to ourselves) on the cruise planner or what not, will we be charged a corkage fee if we bring it to the dinning room or to a meal? Or will they know that we've purchased that from RCI?
 
Sorry for the dumb question.
