    True story.
Friend (who just ordered a drink): what's he drinking that looks good.
    Bartender: labadoozie.
    Me: oh, that's yummy.
    Friend: I'll take one.
Bartender: sorry, you cannot have two drinks at once.
Friend: okay, chugs drink. Can I have a labadoozie.
    Bartender: Okay, coming right up.
So, no, they don't seem to have a time limit.

I've seen it too. Most recently on my upcoming September cruise. With all promos applied (except C&A status - Diamond) the "You pick your room" is slightly higher ($762 vs $755). I do everything the same again except plug in C&A number and it's now cheaper ($655 vs $680). This is for a balcony, starting price.
I've attached a screenshot, two different browsers: Chromium on left with C&A plugged in & Chrome on right without C&A.

I have that T-shirt (although a bit old now) 10 kinds of people. Nope, no shame here either! ?

I'm even older, and appreciated the binary reference.
Remember, there are 10 kinds of people: Those who get binary, and those who don't. ?

And can I just say how great it is be able to be openly geeky / nerdy / dorky and feel no shame over it? ?

LOL. I was converting his bday, but yeah I tell people my hex number LOL... Maybe I need to use your base 21 suggestion! 20 sounds more believable than 2A! (Assume my screen name gives a hint to age ?)

I wish my birthday looked like a binary number! 63 or 3F in hex.
Anyway, I second the Odyssey cruise. Ports seem more interesting and a ship you might not be able to easily sail otherwise.
    Either seem awesome! Enjoy.

What a birthdate!!! Congratulations to your son! My kids were born on Dec 31st and July 4th. The youngest one, nearly 10 also, is unlucky: a lame March, 2...
I see you come from Florida, so Orlando theme parks are not an issue. I've been to Barcelona (by my own means) but not to Rome. Barcelona did not seem that appealing to me. I would vote for Rome, since it is a capital city AND  the Vatican is also there. Catholic or not, the Vatican seems some place worth seeing.

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Newark.  The hotel itself was excellent. Absolutely no hesitation or concerns. The room was comfortable and clean and the mattress was very, very comfortable.  The neighborhood.....(or maybe I should say”the ‘hood).....however, was very sketchy.  We ventured out a couple times to eat but frankly, I was not comfortable (for one thing it was effing freezing) so we mostly stayed in the hotel.  We kept having people come up and beg for money.  We picked this location b/c, as I said in an earlier post, we were under extreme duress to find a place in a hurry. Likely we could have made a better choice, but it was well within the $200/day allowance that a Royal was reimbursing so we are happy, looking back.

Thanks, Ellecee.  We are finally on Anthem !  Embarkation was a breeze.  Slightly disappointed with our Grand Suite.  Much smaller and feels closed-in compared with any GS we’ve ever had - even Grandeur !  We’ll survive.  Better than a stank  hotel in downtown Newark !

I also vote for the Crystal Caves. There is also a small beach available next to where Anthem usually docks. The weather sounds like it will be perfect.

Temps may be OK, but do be ready for possible heavy clouds and rain; our captain on the catamaran sailing was a native and said that it’s very common for winter time to be dreary for most of the season. It’s when people’s home cisterns typically fill up and the island gets most of its rain.
Please try not to let this discourage you or prevent you from still enjoying your time on the island. It has all the indoor attractions mentioned earlier, and Hamilton has a ton of great restaurants, coffee shops, and regular shopping to enjoy. And just because our captain said it’s the norm doesn’t mean you won’t be graced with a better-than-average week. Just noting so you can set expectations, have a chance to be pleasantly surprised (which Is love to hear!), and to be ready to be flexible in your plans on such short notice.

Lots to do in Bermuda besides beaches. The Crystal Caves are fun. Hamilton is great for walking, shopping and history. St. George's has lots of history. There is also museums, lighthouse and more. If you're motorcycle friendly, and comfortable with British driving, rent a scooter and explore. If not, the bus and ferry system is great. Stop and talk to a local, friendliest people on the planet.
Just start googling what you're into and Bermuda will have something similar.
    Bermuda is our favorite island.
Weather looks decent, in the 70s.

We all started at Gold! You'll get there! Even with our Balcony discount the math doesn't add up to be cheaper, but it is ... Agreed "Royal's quirks."

We are lowly Golds (reference to Red Rising by Pierce Brown a space dystopia) so I don't think that impacts our pricing. Just one of Royals quirks.

I have only done the "Apple Hack" once.  You need to have your Sea Pass (preliminary) that does not show a room number (I think it shows either "REPRINT" or "GTY").  There is an option to transfer the Seas Pass to Apple Wallet.  Take that option and underneath the bar code in Apple Wallet the last 5 digits could be the room that they had tentatively placed you in.
I have seen others explain that due to Royal Up, other upgrades, and new reservations they must reserve a spot, but have the option to move you (probably if they can make more money).
I have only done the GTY option once, but is was definitely much cheaper (in my case), kinda' fun to track the "progress" and a little scary that we would end up somewhere far from where we wanted to be.
We will continue to decide cruise by cruise if we GTY or choose our room.

S: Good, actually, great news about your Anthem of the Seas sailing
Good morning! Late last night, we sent you an email sharing the news that the New Jersey Health Authority advised us that they received the results from CDC, and the individuals tested negative for novel coronavirus. (We decided it was a little too late to text you.) The good news, our departure from Cape Liberty, New Jersey will remain the same, at 3:00 PM EST on Monday, February 10th. The even better news, our team has been tirelessly working and has advised you can board the ship today! So, come start your vacation early with us. The terminal doors will open at 3:00 PM today and boarding will take place today from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST, or Monday from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST. Please know, since stevedore availability is limited today, you may need to bring your bags onboard with you, so it may be a good idea to pack lightly.
We really appreciate your understanding during this unexpected and very fluid situation. Our top priority is your health, safety, and wellbeing. We would never put you at risk, especially when it comes to health. So, thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you later today, or tomorrow!

Yippee !  Boarding today at 3:00. Ready to get this party started !
