  1. On Royal luggage tags the color at the top has to do with the quadrant where your cabin is located. Gives the baggage handlers a general idea where to take the bags.
  2. Would be nice to see some normality on the outside activities. The sail-away party and late night disco by the pool is surely missed. Could tell the temperature of the cruise by the crazy loco excited people at the sail-away.
  3. Immediately upon setting foot on the ship, go over to Adventure Ocean and you and your daughter check out the schedule, meet the staff and see if your daughter has any issues. There will be same age children or really close also sailing and it would be a good time to let her check it out. Our grandkids love it and are always wanting to go back. It can also give you time alone during the cruise to explore the ship, talk to other adults or just sit out in the sun. There are plenty of things for both of you to do together on the ship and know you will enjoy your time together on the "big boat". Enjoy!
  4. I am not sure of the sale of cigars onboard in the Connoisseur Clubs (cigar lounge) but I do know that some ships have converted their cigar lounge into Pinnacle Clubs (Liberty). That moved the cigar smokers to the mid-deck or upper-deck smoking areas and it was BYO.
  5. Saw "Sam" on Navigator outside Windjammer on our November cruise. Everyone loved it!
  6. The folks at the pier who are checking this are looking at the date, not the time. As long as the date is within the guidelines you are good to go.
  7. Nope, the satin wristband it the thing of the moment. The last several cruises the check in folks just handed us the band and told us to not tighten it up so it could be removed. The wife puts it on her lanyard with her Sea Pass card which either gets punched or placed in the vinyl pouch depending on the ship. No one has told her she had to wear it on her wrist. Mine is worn looped through my watch. It is easier to remove it when you are at the dining room to not dip into your food.
  8. We bid and received a RoyalUp on our first return voyage last August out of Nassau. We thought it would be great to move from our balcony to a Junior Suite after a long respite from cruises. We went from a very well located mid-ship balcony to a rear facing, obstructed JS. The room was nice but every morning we had several yoga and stretch classes right outside our balcony so relaxing for an early morning coffee was never private. The "obstructed" view was the superstructure of the ship and it effectively blocked most of the view. We agreed that from now on we would stay with our "choice" balcony or other room and not do any more bids. This upcoming cruise we received a RoyalUp email and the pricing for the upgrades was atrocious. We called Royal and was able to upgrade to a JS for less money than the RoyalUp AND we were able to pick the room. Best part is the cruise is a double points cruise and the upgrade through Royal doubled our double points.
  9. And if they interact with the guests, tested every three days
  10. We have a cruise scheduled there in May and I am not optimistic that it will be open then. A lot can happen between now and then but all ports are in flux and seem to be for the near future. The ones in the Caribbean that are open are starting to get a lot of business and it is just increasing.
  11. You definitely get the C&A points for your "free" cruise. Since the return of cruises we have been on six "free" cruises through the casino so you know they were not free. We have received the double points for each of our cruises that we booked last year and have several to go for this year. Enjoy your upcoming cruise!
  12. Not specifically for the CD but we make small bags of miniature chocolate bars that we pass out to various hard working crew members. Goes a long way in thanking them for the hard work they do, especially the cleaning crew who never seem to get a thank you. It is something that is nice and personal for them.
  13. We use the Abbott BinaxNOW test that is administered over the internet. It takes about 20 minutes for each person and gives you an email with the results and the results are available on the Navica app that is used to post results on your phone. Is is quick and easy and you can order them before you go to Disney and take them anytime during the day within the time window shown above. For the kids they allow you to supervise them during the test. We usually get up early before anyone else and take it at the 2 day start. It is days and not 48 hours before your boarding time so if you are leaving on a Saturday then you can take it early Thursday morning before you go out to have fun that day. You can use the link on the Royal website to order the tests or if you need more than 4 you can order them in a pack of 6 at eMed.com for less money. Lately they have been good through the end of the year or early next year for expiration so no worries there. Have fun on your trip! There is a great video on the blog on how to take the tests.
  14. We were going to bid on an upgrade from a balcony to a Jr Suite on our upcoming March cruise but when we contacted Royal (it is booked through Casino Royale) we found that to go ahead and upgrade through them was actually less expensive than the RoyalUp and we are able to double our double points . May have been less due to the wife's casino and our C&A status but their RoyalUp minimum prices seems to have increased lately and I have been unable to manually "modify" the bid to less than their minimum.
  15. If you let Royal know (i know, you have to wait on hold to talk to someone) they will tag your reservation for whatever special occasion you are celebrating. We have the wife's birthday cruise in May and our anniversary cruise in June so noted and it is on our cruise receipts. In the past they have given notice to us and provided a little "treat" in celebration, not much but was nice. If you want something bigger you will have to purchase it or bring it.
  16. We have had luggage tags with the wrong patch location on it and the luggage still came to the room. The crew looks at the deck number and room number. The colored patch is a help but it will find its way home.
  17. Yes, according to our Facebook groups, it sailed!
  18. The early times are most popular. Earlier to start the vacation the better. Give yourself a little leeway from the airport. It is not very far and we took a taxi over. Standard boarding times are 11:30 to 3:30 in 30 minute increments although we were able to snag an 11:00am boarding on our upcoming cruise through the wife's diligence in checking every day on the App. This trip is a drive for us so we just leave a little earlier. Flying into FLL is easy so you should not have an issue with 12:00 ~ 12:30.
  19. There is also, sometimes, white night. Last ship I was on for that it was blinding with all the white suits and dresses strolling down the promenade. Some even dual purposed with the '70s disco party in their white leisure suits! Have not seen those in years!
  20. The perks as said before are loaded onto your Seapass card. Besides the drinks, which seems to be the favorite, you also get 1 day of Voom for each person. You have to log in separately per person but you can use the same device which would give you 6 days if all of you are traveling. We have used it the last several cruises needing only the one or two days between us to contact home. The photo discount may not show when you look at the pictures but should be there at checkout. That also means each of you can get a photo. There will be a letter in your stateroom describing the perks so you can go over it there. The best for me however is the Diamond Lounge. The coffee maker there gives excellent coffee, espresso and cappuccino. I'm there every morning and sometimes the evening. Oh, they also have continental breakfast there and snacks during Happy Hour. Have Fun and enjoy!
  21. The Diamond concierge was a big help when we had to tender to one of our ports. In the letter we received in the room it stated that they can help get early tender tickets. We took them up on it and we were on the first tender out that was available for non-excursion folks. They were also nice in helping arrange our dinner reservations.
  22. To save and print the Set Sail Pass on two pages you need to click on print this page and select Save to PDF for the destination, and then in more Settings change the scale to 80% to reduce it to two pages. Save the file and print it out from the saved file. A little more work but I always save my cruising files on a thumb drive and take it with me.
  23. We minimum bid to a Jr Suite from a Balcony in August just for grins not expecting them to take it. We did and although the extra room was nice the extra cost was really hard to justify as we spend hardly spend any time in the room and we went from a very nice location to an obstructed view in the rear. Now we can say "Been There - Done That" although the better half is warning me she WILL be bidding on another Jr Suite for her birthday cruise in May.
  24. Use this link to see if you have a RoyalUp without having to wait for an email: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade We have sometimes missed the email or it did not come and we still had RoyalUp offers available. Have fun on your cruise!
  25. We are on the March 6th cruise on Liberty and just completed one with her on January 16th. Windjammer is definitely open and we saw many families there eating and enjoying themselves (we never go anywhere else when we have the G-kids along). You do not need reservations and the only advice would be checking for the line. It was long only at opening otherwise there was never a wait. They scan your ship card for number of guests present and typically scan it on the way out. The Washy-Washy check-in folks are the best! The staff serve the portions to you as you hold your plate typical to many buffet style restaurants currently. Our grand kids loved the pools and on Adventure Ocean just check for reservations and the protocols for the week as soon as you get onboard as they may change due to the number of kids for that sailing. Have fun and enjoy!
