I just saved $600 on my Chill Island Cabana. That was worth rebooking! Nothing else that I want/have already purchased for my April sailing is discounted more that what I've already paid.

Not sure if you are snorkelers..... our favorite day in St. Thomas is to book a captain and a prowler (little motor boat) with See and Ski. 6 people is the perfect number for this, both for cost and size of boat. They will take you around to several good snorkel spots, basically staying as long as you like in each one. You do need your own equipment. There will be a cooler of waters and beer. We usually bring our own snacks (sneak them off the ship) but several trips we also had the captain find the pizza boat and we ordered fresh pizza - so good! This is not really a "full service excursion" so might not be up your alley. But if you are comfortable jumping in the water, and like to have a gorgeous spot to yourself, it's a pretty awesome day.

Adding to the chairs question - while chairs right by the pool might go early, I have never had an issue on any ship finding *a* lounge chair. Often one deck up from the pool, or along the sides. If you want to be able get in and out of the pool, these are not so convenient. But if, like me, you want to lie in the sun but prefer to avoid people soup, you can sleep as late as you wish. Speaking of soup, I am also somewhat of a picky eater and make some sort of request just about every meal. Often by second or third day, my server is already confirming "on the side" or "without mushrooms" before I can even say it. You will love your RC cruise!

We will be at CK most nights, so will get our filet on night one and be happy. Was just intrigued by some of the offerings in 150 CP

I'd forgotten about the helicopter/glacier option since none of my group did it. I've heard it's amazing.

I've been stalking the cruise planner and watching prices fluctuate for the various dining packages. But if we wanted to just have dinner at one specialty restaurant, does that price ever change? If not, is it at least less expensive to book ahead of time? Wasn't planning to do specialty on our cruise in April, but the menu at 150 Central Park has tempted me. Though I don't see that venue getting a lot of love here. Anything I should know? Thanks!

I have not done the official RC excursion. When we were in Skagway, we hired a private guide for the day and she took us to the sled dog place that Royal excursions visit, first thing in the morning before the groups got there. Our guide was friend with the owner, and we basically just popped in for twenty minutes before their real day started. The dogs are adorable, and we were able to hold and play with puppies as well as see the adult dogs in their various pens and kennels. It's definitely worth seeing. Family members did the official excursion later in the day, and got to ride on a "sled" on a track, pulled by some of the dogs. They got demonstrations on some of the training, and basically a more organized visit/tour. Other people in our party did pretty much the same tour in Juneau with a different kennel. All had a great time. I realize this doesn't really help you decide, but I think you can't go wrong in either location, and it's just a question of what is "can't miss" for you. Also, maybe depends on how long you are in port. Can you both whale watch and dog sled in Juneau? Or both train and dogs in Skagway? You will have a great experience whatever you decide

This is one of the things I like when we occasionally cheat on Royal with Princess. They asked for proof once, and now every booking we automatically get an onboard credit for military service. It's not a ton of $ so those who have been able to apply a good discount on Royal are doing better, but it is nice to just have the credit every cruise with no effort.

I am so sorry this happened. You've probably already put the cancelations in motion, but just in case you have not...it may be worth retesting at the 4 or 5 day out mark. With breakthrough cases, it is my understanding that the vaccine can enable you to clear the virus relatively quickly. Either way, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

A spin-off question from this...The day we are at Coco Cay on Harmony, we get in at 9 am. Independence gets in 2 hours earlier. Does anyone know how cabanas are distributed? I'm wondering if I have already been assigned the Chill Island cabana I reserved, or if I will end up with whatever is left after all the Indy folks who reserved one show up ahead of me? And does it even matter or is location not really an issue and all cabanas relatively equal?

I love love love the Mayflower Park hotel in Seattle. Walking distance to all the good stuff, and so lovely. The staff is out of this world. The rooms are beautifully decorated and large. It's just a charming get away before you even cruise.

Haven't been on Enchantment, but was on Explorer Feb 2020. Also an older ship, and it rained for what felt like the whole 10 days. (I know there were some sunny moments but it was a LOT of rain.) There were buckets in some areas to catch leaks and lots of fans in hallways to dry out carpets. There were sections of roped off tile, but that may have been from wet shoes and not a leak. Anyway, it is definitely possible for there to be some rain leakage on an older ship. Did it affect the seaworthiness? Not that I could tell. And it certainly didn't affect our enjoyment of the cruise.

I'm curious if there's a target date for full capacity cruises to resume? Do we think by spring it will be like old times? Or are they taking it more slowly?

I haven't done star class yet, but for crew bringing me drinks I always tip extra. I find it gets me treated like a princess every time the server sees me, and I figure if a few dollars is that appreciated, why wouldn't I give it? Likewise, by the end of a cruise, we have tipped our cabin steward at least a hundred. $20 to say hello, $10 if I make a special request, $20 halfway through the cruise to say thanks for such a great job so far. And a bigger tip at the end. Like with the drinks, I've found this leads to extreme attentiveness and anticipation of my wishes. Now, I'm sure whatever I spend in tips doesn't come close to the difference between sky and star class cruise fares, so maybe if I was spending more I'd expect to have to tip less? Nah, probably not.

Can someone walk me through checking that RC has my correct email? When I go to my account profile, I can update my phone number but they do not have a spot for email address. When I click on email preferences, it just shows choices to receive offers from. Sign in information has my email as my sign-in, is that enough to make sure that is correct? Thanks, I feel like when I'm trying to find something in the grocery store and I'm standing right in front of it!

@sparklymermaid, you may have better luck asking about specific shore excursions over on cruise critic boards. They have a Royal Caribbean section as well as sections for each port. There is a long history of people asking about specific excursions by name. Having said that, I've been to the main points that are on this particular tour and as long as you can walk a mile on cobblestones, you should be fine. There are a few stairs, both in the city parts and within the church at Our Lady of the Rocks, but you sort of shuffle along and I don't remember it being overly difficult. Even if your pace is the slowest in your group, each of the destinations are fairly compact. You ought to be able to keep your tour in sight even if you lag behind a bit. Hope this helps. Thanks @twangster that's helpful Coming from NC it's a tough call to fly or drive. Trying to do a full comparison so it's good to have an idea of cost and hassle to factor in.

I think I've seen in the past that it's possible to book a shuttle to the airport at the end of the cruise and sometimes an actual excursion on that debarkation day that ends at the airport. Not seeing this option for our Harmony April '22 cruise. Is it likely they just don't have that squared away yet? Or is this listed somewhere in the PC other than shore excursions and I'm missing it? Jus trying to compare our options for getting back to MCO that day. Thanks for any insight!
