  1. Will echo the previous posters--if absolutely everything went according to plan, it might be theoretically possible. But there is way too much potential for delays due to traffic or at the border to think it's likely. Last time I went, like @twangster, we used the Quick Shuttle. It took us right at about 4 hours, and that was dropping us off in downtown Seattle, not even going all the way to the airport. Unless you just have a super high risk tolerance, I wouldn't recommend a flight that early. Just a thought--we got a hotel in Seattle for the night and flew out the next morning. Had a great time just roaming the city sightseeing. Might be something to consider if your schedule would allow it. Good luck!
  2. Was on Liberty and Independence in the last month and both had these kinds of straws. Much nicer than the paper ones.
  3. Now that is interesting. It is still showing up as an option for my cruise on Independence this weekend, but not for my next cruise on Symphony in July.
  4. Given how packed the elevators can be on disembarkation day, depending on what floor you're on the only potential downside is if you have anyone with mobility issues who might have trouble navigating stairs with a bag. But otherwise, it is definitely a much easier option in my opinion.
  5. According to the app, its "beefeater pink gin, lime juice, pineapple juice and guava syrup." If I were to take a guess, it'd be something like: 2 1/2 oz gin 3 oz guava nectar (guava syrup will be sweeter, so you'd probably want to lessen that. I just said nectar because it's easier to find, IMHO) 1 1/2 oz unsweetened pineapple juice 3/4 oz fresh lime juice But you can have fun experimenting with the ratios until you get it how you want it.
  6. It's just a plastic card like a hotel key card. Most people either keep it in their pockets or in a lanyard with a pocket. But you can absolutely punch a hole in it if you'd rather do it that way. You can go to guest services and ask them for a hole punch.
  7. No reason at all. That's the way to do it.
  8. Just got back from a cruise with that itinerary. Didn't go through Trip Advisor so can't help with that question. Booked a day pass at El Cozumeleno. Great service and food. Lots of others speak highly of Nachi Cocum or Mr. Sanchos. Also did the Chacchoben ruins in Costa Maya. Went through a company called Native Choice. A little ways from the port to get to them, but great service and tour. If you have animal lovers in the family, my wife and kids are still raving about an excursion they did that let them play with iguanas, sloths and monkeys. Like @skittermagoo, have also heard good things about the snorkeling there.
  9. OK, that was the same with mine. So maybe that is how they promote it and they actually are supposed to do that. Thanks so much.
  10. Extremely random question: I just got off a cruise and have a question about the post-cruise survey. If memory serves, the last time I did one, there was a question that was something to the effect of "did any crew members tell you about this survey or ask for a positive review?" So here's my question--is a crew member mentioning the survey a positive or a negative thing in Royal Caribbean's eyes? For context: we had a fantastic crew member interaction and, in the course of our conversation, this person mentioned the survey and how good results help in their future careers. I certainly want to recognize this person and don't want to cause them problems if they're not supposed to talk about the survey. But some companies want their employees to mention similar surveys so customers know to be on the look out for it. I definitely want to help out this crew member, so didn't know the best response to that question (if it's still on there). EDIT: Just to be clear, this person wasn't actively saying "give us high scores." It was more of a "Hey, if there's any reason you wouldn't give high scores for the food or service, please let us know so we can try to make things better." The comment about it impacting a career was only in response when someone at our table asked if Royal Caribbean really put stock in those surveys and how they used them.
  11. Just got off of Liberty yesterday and we (except for my mother-in-law, who asked for a paper copy) just had the electronic version. Personally, I like using the app so I can automatically add things to my calendar, and then I just have to look there for the things in which I'm interested. But to each their own. It was good to know they at least still have the paper copy for those who want it.
  12. Just took my test and anxiously awaiting the results. See you on board! Update: negative. Let's roll!!!
  13. It's the lowest tier in their casino rewards program. At some point, you must have spent some time in an onboard casino and they automatically enrolled you. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/casino/casino-royale-rewards-table.pdf
  14. Afraid I can't help with that one. My kids are far enough apart in age that it was never an issue. Someone else may have more recent experience. But as Matt always says, when you get on board it never hurts to ask but don't be upset if the answer is no.
  15. Yes, the split the teen groups into 12-14 and 15-17. Will have activities for each group.
  16. I redeemed a $50 free play reward for a cruise next month. Anyone know if that will automatically be put on my card? Or do I need to go to the casino cashier for them to set it up?
  17. Perfect, thanks so much!!
  18. When you set up the app/profiles, does it matter what names the test were ordered under? I was looking at ordering the eMed tests, but it asked to put in up to three names of who the tests would be for. We are hoping to get tests done elsewhere ahead of time and these home tests would only be a backup in case we weren't able to schedule something. As such, there's no way to know which of our family members (party of five) might or might not need to take a home test. So, for example, if I buy the tests and list people A, B and C, will that mess us up if, when we reach our testing window, it is people D and E who need to take them? Would they still be able to set up a profile and use those tests? Hope that makes sense.
  19. I'm having this exact issue right now, so thanks for all the answers and thank you RCBlog forum search feature.
  20. I am scheduled to be a presenter at a conference on Symphony this summer. Have done it a couple times in the past. So I can't speak to how much they're used or what other purposes they could serve, but I can confirm they do get used.
  21. 99% chance you'll have no problems, so it just depends on your tolerance for risk and if you're willing to take that 1% chance.
  22. Email just received from Royal Caribbean: "Updated North America Testing Protocols There’s been a change to our Pre-Cruise and Embark testing requirements for unvaccinated guests age 2 - 11 for sailings departing on or after December 17, 2021. We'll now only accept a negative PCR test result to satisfy the Pre-Cruise testing requirement for this age group. Additionally, instead of taking a PCR test at embarkation, unvaccinated guests age 2 - 11 will receive a complimentary antigen test. This change will allow for a smoother start to our young cruisers' sailing and embarkation. These protocols are subject to change and we’ll keep you informed."
  23. "Regular" coffee means basically just that--plain ol' coffee that you can add some cream and sugar to. You don't need a drink package of any kind to get that for free. "Premium" coffee is exactly what you mentioned--lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, iced coffee, etc. Usually served at a specialty coffee bar somewhere. The one caveat on the refreshment package is that it cannot be used at the standalone Starbucks kiosks on Oasis-class ships.
  24. Pfizer has been in production for some time anticipating this move and say they're ready to ship as soon as they get the green light. That said, I don't know exactly how the distribution chain will work so it could be a situation where it's not available at every vaccine provider at the same time. EDIT: Just found the info--they reportedly have about 20 million doses ready to go. They'll be shipped out to states on a pro rata basis based on how many eligible children each state has.
  25. I just wish I'd get an email like that. I've had two cruises (Dec. 2021 and March 2022) have itineraries change, and yet neither my travel agent nor I have ever received any notification of this. Has anyone else had this problem? I've gotten confirmations and other such communications about these cruises, so I know they have the correct email. I didn't have strong feelings about these particular itineraries, so it's not a huge deal. It's just weird and a little concerning that we haven't been notified.
