I totally missed when this happened but they extended the expiry to September 2022... @Matt was there a post about this and I totally missed it?

Edit:  this must have just happened yesterday because I got a new FCC from cancelling under CWC on Monday and it still has an expiry of April 2022.

    glad they made the extension

  2. I will wear one on vacation.  I do not want to, but if I want to go somewhere I have to.  I have been wearing them and still ended up with covid.  I do not believe they are effective at all. I will not shame anyone for wearing or not wearing a mask.  We have been hoping, like most cruisers, for cruising to start again in the US to see what cruising will look like with the new protocols in place.  We are booked for July, here is hoping the bugs are worked out before then, and maybe masks will be optional by that time.

  3. i am hoping sooner than later.  But, I am not going to hold my breath.  With all the negative coverage cruise ships get, which is BS IMO, they will have to have to keep tighter rules longer.  I hope I am wrong, but the cruise lines need to show they are taking it even more serious than other parts of the travel industry. All because of the "petri dish" comparison that is used.

We did the turtle farm with a dolphin encounter. The turtle farm is.... well a turtle farm. There are lots of massive turtles to look at and small turtles to touch. There are also some other reptiles to look at.

This was entertaining enough as a pit stop to the real excursion. My family consensus was 30-45 minutes here is more than enough and now that I've seen it I have no need to go again. The dolphin swim we did afterwards was SO COOL though and made the turtle farm feel less exciting.

We did a dolphin swim in Roatan a few years ago, loved it.  But, not looking to do it again so we decided on a different animal encounter.

I think the order you did it in was great too.  Excitement of dolphins compared to easy going of the turtles has to be so different

I'm not sure what the title of the excursion was that we took a number of years ago.  It included a trip to hell and a visit to the Turtle Farm.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the Turtle Farm.  I found the facilities to be modern and very interesting.  I recommend it and would go again.

Yes, this includes a trip to Hell as well.  Good to know.  It sounds like an interesting adventure.

Still true on board.  For shows in the main theater, getting in line early only matters if you have someplace very specific you want to sit (like front row, or dead center).  In general, the main theater is not going to run out of seats so they don't bother with reservations.  For smaller venues like the ice arena, it's possible for seats to run out so you may want to get in line earlier, but I've never had an issue.

good to know, I will make sure to be on the look out for times when we are on board. The ice shows are of interest too

No, not on NAV.  Shows are first come, first served on all ships except for Oasis and Quantum class.  No advance reservations.

Is this true when on board?  Zero reservations for shows except for Quantum and Oasis class?  We are on Indy this coming July and Grease is a must.  What would be a suggestion for how soon do you get in line to make sure to get a spot for the show?

Received email from Southwest Airlines about flights from Houston to Miami and back. Use to go to Fort Lauderdale and transfer to Miami port. Now can fly to Miami directly and back.

Flights listed on Southwest Airlines website. Already changed my departure flight to be from Miami when I get off of Allure in Febuary.

Great news, I am glad they are now available.  We have 3 cruises next year all out of Miami.  We have a substantial credit for cancelled flights from earlier this year. Glad we will be able to use  them up on existing vacations.

In on word ... YES!! And if you think trying to outwit RCG, let me remind those who try to play stupid when MSC Cruises says family denied re-boarding after they broke COVID-19 'social bubble'... you can also read the full article: https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2020/08/19/msc-cruises-cracking-down-passengers-who-break-covid-19-regulations/5605867002/

I get that going on your own with excursions saves money, but right now there are these rules we need to follow.  I am not going to chance being denied boarding just to save a few dollars.  I am hoping we can at least walk around the port and get lunch and drinks off the ship for some local options.  If the cruise line says no, only way to get off is through an excursion then more ship time.
