  1. You have some great ideas. I was looking to do something similar for my cruise in 3 weeks but I need to keep it family friendly. On a prior cruise I have had the activity staff give a week long scavenger hunt with getting signatures from people from different countries, senior officers, and cruise activity staff. It was a lot of fun trying to find all the staff. It was a great way to engage with more of the staff than I normally would.
  2. Recently added Explorer 9 night southern Caribbean over Thanksgiving. November 20, 2020. First southern Caribbean cruise and I don't have to fly to San Juan. Visiting the ABC islands and Labadee. @Lovetocruise2002 suite life influenced us to book a junior suite. We have a aft facing room on deck 10. We might not be able to go back after previous balcony experiences.
  3. I was a diamond C&A member before I discovered Matt and this website, podcast and more. I have learned plenty from Matt and this community despite having been on quite a number of RC cruises in the past. I feel like I have a better cruise experience because of what I have learned. Well deserved honor and #1 in my book. A lot of the information is relatable to other cruise lines as well.
  4. Thanks for the live blog. I will be following along. I have the western Caribbean cruise on Harmony in October with the same ports. I haven't been to Costa Maya or Roatan either so I am interested to see what you do there.
  5. price will vary depending on the ship, cruise duration, number of sea days, time of year, and how many people have bought a drink package $52 on 3 night Mariner July and $49 on 7 night Harmony October
  6. My app is only allowing me to see day three (Coco Cay day) on my 3 night Mariner sailing. I assume it will be updated as I get closer. I am just over 5 weeks out.
  7. I don't know if they let you upgrade your beverage package. You could upgrade to get all four perks and then they normally upgrade the drink package to the premium when you get all 4 perrks. Not sure it that is worth it to you if you aren't able to upgrade it.
  8. I haven't seen it in the cruise planner either for a July 12 Mariner cruise. I am guessing we book it onboard.
  9. I am inside of 45 days, July 12 on Mariner and I can now view some details of my cruise via the app including checking in via the app.
  10. I have heard from some people that half day passes may be available but for afternoon only. Also, some that bought the half day are being switched from an AM half day to a PM half day pass.
  11. Keep in mind the unlimited includes lunch on sea days and frequently on day one if you ask. The unlimited also allows you to go to multiple restaurants per evening. For example, you could go to playmakers or Izumi and get some apps or sushi and then later eat at Chops.
  12. RC no longer offers half day passes since it is too hard to enforce getting people to leave the park.
  13. I have seen Sabor on Harmony for $22 in the cruise planner for my October 20 cruise. If the specialty dining is not selling well you may see waiters wandering the windjammer at breakfast or lunch time or be in common areas trying to get more bookings and sometimes at a discount. You can always ask on board if there are any specials. I don't think the price will be any higher on board. The advantage to pre booking is being able to reserve a specific date and time. If you book on board you might be limited by days or times that are left. I know I have seen this or even had my wait staff at a specialty dining restaurant tell me they would give me a discount if I returned to the restaurant on a future night.
  14. You should be able to get the sale on a future cruise planner sale which happen about once a month or so.
  15. I have seen the price drop the day or night prior to the official announcement of the next cruise planner sale. They may have implemented the price change prior to announcing the cruise planner sale.
  16. I have been to Nice. We went on a tour that we booked through the cruise line that went to Eze and Monaco. We had some guided time in the highlight of each area and some free time in both and it included lunch in Eze. It was in 2007 but I do remember enjoying both areas and would recommend it or something similar. I don't know what they are currently offering but I had a coworker that did a very similar tour last year on Celebrity.
  17. We are on the July 12 cruise on Mariner.
  18. If you scroll down to the bottom and click the "Get more details on ships we support" you will get a listing of ships. Select the ship for your cruise and it will show future sail dates that you can use. It seems like you have to be within a certain number of cruises of your sailing. For example, Mariner cruises only lists through July 5 but Harmony is through August 18 since Mariner is doing two cruises per week and Harmony only once a week.
  19. I didn't see any sailings on any ship on April 16th.
  20. That's weird that fun spot might not be open since Spring break in Florida happens for one county or another almost every of the month and if not he public schools the University is on break.
  21. Any information yet about whether Captain Jack’s on Coco Cay will be included in the unlimited dining package and has anyone seen a menu with pricing yet?
  22. You should be able to get some type of alcohol like vodka or rum with one mix in like coke or juice. I frequently get Vodka and cranberry juice for diamond drinks.
  23. I live in the Orlando area and I have been to all of these attractions. The Icon Orlando 360 is an entertainment area that has shopping and restaurants and attractions around three main attractions. It is in a tourist district and there are other attractions, shops and restaurants nearby as well including Ripley's which are with walking distance and even more (top golf, Mario Andretti's entertainment center) witin a short drive. The three main attractions here include the Ferris Wheel (the Orlando Icon) it has AC and provides a great view of stuff nearby, Disney is a little far but you can see Sea World and Universal Studios fairly well. It is located south of downtown Orlando and it takes about 20 minutes to make one trip around. It is comparable to the Las Vegas Eye or London Eye. There is also a Madam Tussaud's wax museum that is somewhat interactive that features mostly pop figures (movies and music and athletes) but also includes some historical figures as well. Finally, the Sea Life Aquarium has one interactive area and features some local wildlife but also features sea life from around the world including some areas that have glass floors. I am not sure what the excursion includes but on location the tickets can be purchased separately or as a package. There is also a new attraction on site that has swings that go up at least a couple of hundred feet above ground. Disney Springs is just an area outside of the theme parks that features a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options. There is a VR experience there called the VOID which is pretty cool. There is also bowling, movies concert halls and more to entertain. Some of the things to do are Disney related and some aren't. The Kennedy Space Center is the closest attraction to the port and there is plenty of cool NASA and space related stuff there to see and do including a tour that goes near the launch pads. One of the space shuttles is on display here. You may have an opportunity to meet an astronaut as well. I would probably recommend this as your top option unless it is not of great interest.
  24. Well, Enjoy your Summit cruise.
  25. Some online travel agencies might purchase blocks of rooms and you might have different room selections than you might find elsewhere. I recommend a TA that you can contact directly. I think you will love your cruise and I have no doubts that you will be back to book another.
