  1. What motion sickness medicine do you recommend? I've never needed it, but one of my travel companions does.
  2. I am on Allure, leaving Fort Lauderdale on Saturday.
  3. Thanks. Hopefully, they will put some options up later today.
  4. Does the cruise planner close at a certain point prior to a cruise? We sail on Saturday (Hooray!) and just found out that our cruise is stopping at Perfect Day, instead of Nassau (Double Hooray!) No excursions are available for Perfect Day. The change was just made today, so I assume that they will load options at some point. Thanks.
  5. We did a Disney cruise when our children were younger. They loved it, but my husband and I were bored (and I am a Disney fan). It almost turned us off cruising. We did not try again for several years. When we did, we loved Royal. We find it to be fun for all ages.
  6. We have done the same thing as Pooch. Loved it! Planning on same thing this trip.
  7. Next time, ask them to substitute sparkling wine for the pinot grigio-gives it an awesome boost of bubbly-even more light and refreshing.
  8. Sharla at MEI is great! She has spent hours on the phone with Royal instead of me! I am sure she does the same for her other clients
  9. Where is the easiest place to make UDP reservations immediately upon boarding on Allure? I know there kiosks, but I am assuming they will be busy.
  10. We used a car service (Black Diamond). They picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the port. Very quick and easy-a lot less stress than ride share. We used a ride share from the airport, and the driver did not speak any English and did not get the directions right.
  11. Once on Navigator towards the end of the cruise, there were staff people roaming around at lunchtime in the Windjammer offering significant discounts to book specialty dining for the last couple of nights.
  12. I had that happen last week. I spotted a Radiance Panama Canal sailing; luckily got it booked. Within a couple of hours, when I went back to check itinerary, it was gone. It is back this week, but showing all suites are sold out. I thought it was strange.
  13. I'm glad you're back I have thinking about you and your family and hoping that you made it through the last two years. I am a big fan of the Oasis class and the voyager class. I prefer both to the Quantum class, but it depends on your perspective. If the itinerary is your destination, you should go with the better itinerary. If the ship is the destination, go with your ship preference. You might want to check and see if there are any voyager class ships that meet your dates and have a good itinerary. That might a great solution-and probably significantly less expensive. Of course, you never know until you try, and y'all may love the quantum class.
  14. I did that thanksgiving weekend several years ago, expecting to hear back Monday or Tuesday. I was shocked to get an email within a couple of hours. I have used Sharla ever since. She is always helpful
  15. I am a newly minted diamond on RC and really enjoy it. I do want to try Celebrity at some point, although I enjoy watching other peoples children have fun on the RC ships. My own kids are grown, and it is delightful to see children that I have no responsibility for having a great time. We have also sailed Disney when the kids were young. The kids loved it, the adults were bored. At that time, I still had my own kids to worry about and did not take as much pleasure in watching other kids. We also sailed Princess, which we liked, but the entertainment in general is better on RC. Most recently, we sailed MSC in the Yacht Club, which was an awesome experience. We found the entertainment somewhat lacking, but enjoyed the YC and the private deck. I currently have an upcoming sailing on Allure and another YC sailing in Europe this summer. We would have gone with Royal in Europe, but could not make the dates and desired itineraries match.
  16. Remember the movie The Graduate (Mrs. Robinson). Mr. Robinson advised Dustin Hoffman’s character that “plastic is the future”.
  17. I had wow bands included in suite on both oasis and harmony. I found them annoying to wear. I always carry my kindle everywhere so slipping my card into the case was not necessary issue.
  18. I loved the chicken sandwich at JR on Independence.
  19. Also, supply chain issues may make it more difficult to obtain certain ingredients.
  20. In a little over a month, I will (hopefully) embark on my first cruise as a Diamond member. I will be on the Allure. I am very excited! Can anyone tell me what hours the Diamond concierge is available and if he/she can help with dinner (UDP) and entertainment booking? Thanks all!
  21. I may be almost as sad as you are that your adventure is coming to an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed “accompanying” you vicariously. You have truly made me feel like a part of your journey. Thank you. I am also an avid reader and I am always looking for new books so I would also be interested in your book choices.
  22. Are gratuities also included in the dining package? If not does specialty restaurant staff share in general pool of pre paid gratuities?
  23. I haven’t sailed NCL but I recently cruised MSC Yacht Club. It has a lot of European options. I wrote a lengthy post on another forum detailing my thoughts on they compare
