Cruise Planner question from a newbie
SpeedNoodles replied to Shannon's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Absolutely! -
I understand closing a cruise port, but...
SpeedNoodles replied to mathbees's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The Zaandam had passengers that were on both a 14 day sailing (to disembark in Santiago ) and passengers that were on a 17 day sailing (Santiago to Fort Lauderdale) and passengers that were on 31 day sailing (to disembark in Fort Lauderdale). So there were passengers on the ship whose end points were actually Fort Lauderdale. Rotterdam also had Fort Lauderdale as their planned disembarkation point. -
You have NO idea how much I need this thread today.

RCL cancels all cruises thru 9/1/20 .....
SpeedNoodles replied to Wnuk's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I'll believe nothing that comes out today. Nothing. -
We can only get the number of confirmed positives in our county - they refuse to break it up by city, so we really have no idea what's really going on. It's still very difficult to get tested here. We are constantly getting calls of people not abiding by the Stay At Home order. What's been considered an "essential service" is suspect to me. Stay safe, everyone - let's hope THIS community stays healthy!!

14 CREW TEST POSITIVE ON OASIS OF THE SEAS
SpeedNoodles replied to Mike.s's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I don't know if they've had any positive test positive on Symphony, but they've pretty much locked down that ship, too, according to this post: -
I had one directly under the Windjammer last December (Navigator). We never heard a thing from it. The only thing was they kept the music on up by the Flowrider all night long - we could only hear it if we went out onto the balcony, but it was on all night long.

What do you all miss the most?
SpeedNoodles replied to tonyfsu21's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
At this point I miss just being excited about any of my future cruises. There are just too many unknowns. -
You could easily search for any full ship tour of Allure on YouTube. There are many there.

30 Day Extension on Cancelled Cruises
SpeedNoodles replied to shoreline's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Until there are countries/ports willing to take in a ship, they won't be sailing, sadly. -
@notacomplainer1 welcome to the forums!!

It doesn't matter how good the healthcare system is if it's overwhelmed by numbers and they run out of supplies and equipment. That's why this is so dangerous. The worldwide death toll doubles approximately every 4 days. While I don't think it will reach the level of WWII deaths, it's not going to be insignificant either.

Medical Needs and the Cruise Industry - Just a Thought
SpeedNoodles replied to rcdave's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think they release these sorts of stories to the public WAY too early. It serves no positive purpose until they actually have more facts. -
Quantum to Alaska! Fantastic news!
SpeedNoodles replied to Baked Alaska's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I LOVE the itineraries! (Sitka! Icy Straight!). I'm not a fan so much of Quantum class in Alaska myself, but I'd do it for the itineraries. 2021 has Norwegian Fjords written all over it for us, though.- 11 replies

While the lifeblood of any zoo is its visitors, the best time I ever had in my 16 years as a zookeeper when we were closed down for 6 weeks. We always did things like this, and we also got so much done when we didn't have to worry about maintaining an opening/closing schedule. It was a magical time ?

I have no idea if people are staying in or going out here in Minnesota because I only get out to drive to work and back. Honestly, this hasn't changed a lot from my normal habits. I do know that non-medical 911 calls are down in numbers, but after a week of being stuck at home I expect the domestic calls to soar.

This is a relief for us at work, we still had a few planning to go on their vacations. We are trying to really limit our exposure since we all are still reporting to work. We can't really do a lot of "social distancing" there, so we're pretty vulnerable.

Medical Needs and the Cruise Industry - Just a Thought
SpeedNoodles replied to rcdave's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It might help a little if they do that, but unless they have some secret hoard of ventilators on board, the beds won't be a complete solution.
