  1. Sometimes when you put single down it is bringing up studio rooms as an option and those can be a higher price. It's usually better to just book for 2 and intentionally no-show. You just have to front the extra port fees for the extra person til after the cruise.
  2. This! Get your luggage held at your hotel early in the morning Sunday (space is sometimes limited because lots of cruisers take advantage of this). Then go explore and go to the port in the afternoon. Barrachinas also offers luggage storage which you could take advantage of both before and after the cruise.
  3. Read your insurance policy documents. You would be surprised how difficult it is to get your situation to fit into one of the reasons that they DO cover. The doctor letter would have to be written in a specific way to match the policy language to qualify for coverage.
  4. Scopes are through Periscope which is Twitter's livestream. It should post to the Twitter profile: https://twitter.com/CruiseLifeRick
  5. He and @CruiseLifeRick have both been doing scopes..the Playmakers they added to Freedom looks amazing..blows all the others out of the water, even Oasis class!
  6. If you booked within the last 48 hours, go for it: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/best-price-guarantee-policy
  7. The first sailing of Freedom is leaving tomorrow. OurTwoSuitcases and CruiseLifeRick are on that sailing and may have some video/photos if you follow their social media. Just Google those names and you should find YouTube, instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to follow.
  8. Not sure about the name change thing at all but I don't see why the no show thing wouldn't work. If you book a cabin with someone else and they no show it's not like the ship tracks you down to recoup any lost costs for the no show. They already have their cruise fare which isn't refundable by that point.
  9. Bonaire is the best for snorkeling..I have no suggestions as where to go but I have heard it's a snorkel destination for sure. Since I had a non-snorkeler in my party we just rented golf carts through Bonaire Cruisers and explored the island that way and I found that to be super fun. Curacao is walkable and if you want to explore the town on your own that would be the best one to do that in. Aruba has a very easy to use local bus system so if you are comfortable with that you could get around that way. Or just pick a beach and take a cab to it. Baby Beach or Eagle Beach come to mind off the top of my head. We rented an ATV for the day since we had nearly 12 hours there and did some exploring including off roading..but I don't know how easy that would be to set up so close to sailing. But Aruba has caves and beaches and desert and lots of areas to explore. St. Thomas you may want to consider an excursion just because the port that Royal Caribbean uses will basically require taking a taxi to anything you would do/see and the taxi system there can be a pain. An excursion would include transportation and you would avoid that hassle.
  10. I think you can...but that's definitely a TA question. I wanna say I read @twangster having success doing this before but not 100% sure. You have to keep in mind the FCC is only for the value of the cruise fare and port fees get refunded the way you paid them. Also the FCC is issued to each individual on a booking based on what their fare was, taking into account any discounts. So if you have different folks in your cabin for future cruises it jumbles things up a bit.
  11. Yes! The penalty after 30 days is 100% so the new policy will cover that. Each person will get a FCC in their name in the amount of their cruise fare. Keep in mind if you booked on a BOGO60 sale the FCCs will differ in price between the first and second passengers. Port fees get refunded to the original method of payment.
  12. If you look at the cancellation policy for your cruise it is usually tiered meaning that the further out you cancel after your final payment date, thus the less you lose. This link shows the cancellation penalty amounts: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/booking-cancellation-refund-policy So typically if you cancel a cruise past the final payment mark but before 30 days you can get a partial refund. If your cruise falls under the qualifications of the Cruise with Confidence policy (sail date before July 31, 2020) and you choose to cancel you will get back the penalty amount in the form of a FCC. You would be refunded the rest to your original form of payment. You also will get back the $100 charge to your deposits as FCC for cancellation/changing your sailing if you had the non-refundable deposit.
  13. Yes, you can take your FCC and apply it to any cruise that you already have a deposit on.
  14. But you can order all the coffee, butter, and cream cheese you want! ?
  15. Juice, coffee, tea, or milk..no hot chocolate is listed on the menu.
  16. I do the same, always give at least few dollars for room service.
  17. You will be able to enjoy them on the cruise in the smoking area.
  18. Is that figure missing some zeros? Without health insurance in the US that cost would be at least $14,000!
  19. I would call back in again and argue that. You sailed solo and effectively paid the price for the other passenger. That other passenger certainly didn't get the points, so you deserve them!
  20. The port typically "officially" opens at 10am for incoming passengers but they may have the waiting area ready prior to that. If you show too early the port will be a mess with all of the disembarking passengers still trickling off of the ship.
  21. Definitely return them. They will charge you if you don't return them. Each leg of a B2B is considered a separate cruise accounting-wise, so they close out your SeaPass account and start up a new one. You will have a credit card charge for each leg of the cruise.
  22. I feel it's a perfect substitute for an alarm or a standard wake-up call! Room service calls the room minutes before they show up with the food.
  23. Makes perfect sense, but I notice I tend to do the opposite. I have so much to take care of in order to be able to go on a cruise. I work two jobs, so I have to coordinate with both for scheduling and then allow myself time to pack get ready ahead of the cruise! I also have limited time off, so it's hard to allocate extra days off to prepare for a vacation. I just can't seem to get in that mindset at all, so I will work up to the minute I *have* to leave as to save as much leave time as I can for future trips!
  24. Even if it has to be in a champagne flute!
