  1. I'm sure you could turn it into one. There is a chapel on board and you could meet with other clergy.
  2. Anthem entertainment opened today for the October 19th cruise so not exactly 90 days out.
  3. We are planning on staying on board for at least one port in our upcoming cruises. I would suggest going to see the sloths in Roatan if you haven't seen them. We prefer not to pay again for food and drink since we get it with the cruise but do enjoy trying local food just not paying for all inclusive at a resort. Nassau - stay on ship Cozumel - can go either way for us as we've been there so many times including a land vacation Falmouth - we love Jamaica and always find something to do San Juan - get off Labadee - depends if we have another beach day. We think the food is horrible here. Coco Cay - get off St Maarten - I could stay on the ship but hubby loves it St. Thomas - stay of ship Costa Maya - lots to do either at the pier or on a tour or in town
  4. And no official sick days at my job but if I'm sick I work from home. If it is more than 2 days you are now using your vacation time to cover it.
  5. I get 3 weeks or 15 days plus 6 holidays and my birthday. But I do take an extra day here and there because I am always working and take my phone and tablet with me to work remotely. I also travel for work which always involves working on weekends at meetings and trainings. Until last year I was not permitted to take two weeks at once. This year I'm asking for a 4th week because I need it. I try to take vacation during a holiday week to stretch out the vacation time. Hubby is a community college professor who is being laid off at the end of the month. He is/was off summers and long holiday plus hit Paid Time Off which they are encouraged not to use because college terms need to be completed on time. He is fighting the layoff so hopefully that will continue to be his schedule. There are tons of people here in the US with little or no paid time off. I'm always amazed at what people get in other countries. If I get my 4th week this year it will max out what my company will allow. I'm giving up a raise to get it but to me it is worth it.
  6. I don't take closed shoes on cruises and never had a problem. I also believe there is a comma missing and you must be fully covered and wear shoes and a shirt.
  7. Now I feel like a complete idiot. The bathroom door on the Empress wouldn't close with my over the door shoe organizer and I should have used the magnetic hooks I packed.
  8. We were on Empress in May and they serve it in the Windjammer. It was great. We had it for a late night snack every night.
  9. None of our cruises had anything cheaper but I did get my shows booked for October.
  10. I cannot wait to try it on the ship. Last year I went after about 20 years for my daughter's birthday and let's just say it was a rough experience. Enjoy your practice.
  11. You might as well do something for a few hours before you board so you get to enjoy the port. Just don't take a long excursion or go to the other side of the island.
  12. Yes the class is named after the first ship in that class. This is very helpful. http://www.royalcaribbeanincentives.com/content/uploads/Fleet-Guide.pdf
  13. Wanted to share this, I wanted to upgrade our interior free cabin to at least an ocean view and initially it was way crazy expensive. Then I was playing with pricing on the RC site and the difference between interior and exterior was only $50 per person so I asked hubby to call and see if they would honor that for the upgrade. It was a no go but they did offer it at $100 per person to go to ocean view. Since the cabin was free we went ahead and paid the $200. It is the kids cabin so I could have left them in the interior but one of the kids is actually an adult and I figured if they slept in an interior they would never wake up so we spent the money. It's a shame they give you free cabins to get you on to gamble but won't give you a decent upgrade price. For the other cruise we have one interior I will wait and see if we get a Royal Up because we have 3 people in there and I don't want to pay the upgrade for 3 people. It was one that we used the $1500 off the first two people and the 3rd was expensive.
  14. I found this but am not sure if I am allowed to provide the link that shows another website and other cruise lines also. Royal Caribbean International The Ships: Four of Royal Caribbean's nearly two dozen ships -- Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas -- offer solo-traveler staterooms. The Cabins: On the line's Quantum-class ships, there are two cabin categories available to solo travelers, both offering standard amenities and European-size double beds. The studio interior staterooms (measuring 101 square feet) boast an industry-first virtual balcony: an 80-inch-high, floor-to-ceiling LED screen that projects real-time views of the ocean and ports. Meanwhile, the studio balcony staterooms (119 square feet) come with a real-deal, 55-square-foot, open-air veranda. (Standard rooms on the same ships would measure about 160 to 180 square feet, for comparison.) Each of the Quantum-class ships has 16 studio interior staterooms and 12 balcony staterooms apiece; these cabins -- located midship and spread out over decks 6 through 13 – can sometimes connect to adjoining staterooms for parties traveling together. Harmony of the Seas offers a handful of studio interior staterooms with virtual balconies, but unlike Quantum-class vessels, the ship does not have any studio balcony staterooms.
  15. I had to pay $100 each for 3 of us to switch. I wasn't happy but overall I still saved another $100 with the change and had more time in port.
  16. There are some RC ships that have cabins for singles and they are supposed to be 150% instead of 200% of the cruise fare. You may want to check into those. My hubby has one booked for April 2020 but it was a free cabin for him so I don't have the cost. Do a search for which ships offer them.
  17. I love these. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0786PQFKW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. That was me. I saw a video and wasn't sure what the big deal was but got one set. Then I had to try them twice and before I decided I really loved them.
  19. On the Casino Royale note, lately I've noticed that the cost to upgrade if you have a free cruise has gone way up. Wish me luck because tomorrow I'm going to try to get them to honor the difference between an interior and exterior on the website which is $50 per person. When we originally booked using the free certificate it was very high to upgrade.
  20. We do this every cruise. The people who switch will have two cards each. One is their SeaPass and the other will say extra key.
  21. I have read that cards can be saved and used on next cruise.
  22. I am now a fan for multiple reasons. I use the non-compression kind and roll my clothes and stack in them. You can fit a lot more into your suitcase but watch your weight then. I like them because packing and unpacking is so much easier. I put the cubes in the drawers or on the shelves so my stuff doesn't touch the shelves/drawers so I'm not worried if there is dust in there. Also on shelves your stuff won't fall through. How I pack mine is I put drawer items on the bottom of the cube then put the clothes I want to hang on top. I simply remove the top layer and hang them then put the cube in the drawer or shelf. For kids they are great because I roll a day's clothes together making getting ready easy. Youtube has lots of great videos about them, check some out. My husband and daughter thought I was nuts then asked for their own sets.
  23. But it doesn't have as many money makers as Coco Cay and everyone wants the new island so they are going to send them where they make more money. I can see cruises going to just those two locations and don't forget they are supposed to put a hotel on Coco Cay for overnight stays. I would stay on the ship in the room I already paid for.
  24. Have DD1 use it and give her sister $25. Make it simple that way it gets used up.
  25. I would love to know these answers as I'm traveling alone with two little ones.
