I would go to Jonny's if it was included in my cruise fare. I did go there for breakfast one day as it was included. Why would I go there and pay extra when I can get a burger elsewhere on the ship?

The casino is not mandatory therefore you do not need to spend money there. So no cash "needed". Same with tipping. there is no "need" for it as it is automatically added to your account. You can chose to do these optional things, but the OP asked how much "cash is needed". The answer is zero cash is needed.

Cash is only used in the ports when you are off the ship. You don't "need" cash unless you "want" to spend "cash" in some of the markets that you visit.

When I go on vacation, I do not bring any computer at all. I bring my phone while on the road but when I get in my room the phone gets turned off and in the safe for the duration of the cruise. I am on Vacation!! Everything can wait. In case of emergencies, you already fill out the form prior to your cruise. Besides, what is it, that anyone that is not already there, can do for you in an emergency?

Good luck getting it past security. All you have to do is ask your room steward and they will being you one.

I was on the Allure last month and I asked the room steward to bring me a corkscrew so I could open them myself. I had to force her to take a tip for that...lol. I had champagne waiting in the room when we boarded, but we stored that in the fridge until formal night and then brought that to the MDR and they popped it there with no charge.

Yes but are there any warm pools? The pool in the solarium on the Allure last month was freezing. I had to spend all my pool time in the hot tubs.

I also would like to know which pier does Royal use in Cozumel.

Was in St Maarten in January and did a bus tour with RCCL not the double decker but it was ok. Went to the French side for a 45 min stop and then back. It was narrated and that was ok. Just remember you are with others that may have a different pace than you. Next time we will just go on our own.

The Solarium Bistro is only free for breakfast and lunch.

We did MTD on the Allure last month and made reservations for 5:45 and showed up from 5:30-6:15 and had no issues at all. When you go in the 1st night and you like the wait staff you can request to be seated at that table and time slot every night and they will get to know you. I even got to know the head waiter Sergii, when I asked for savory bites. He made a big deal of how I knew of such things on my 1st Royal cruise and that how dare I demand such things...lol it was all in good fun.

What about those that are flying in and then take a shuttle from the airport or from their hotel? I think that since they are on the shuttle they just let them go and check in at the terminal, however never been there I don't know. I will be there this December, that is why I am wondering about it.

What if you are using a parking service like park n go that has shuttles. Do they card everyone on the shuttle going into the port?

To bad that was our shortest port call we had to be back on board by 1:00PM...would have been nice to been there later on in the evening like 8:00 PM.

On our Jan sailing on the Allure, we were there on Jan 17 and they were having the San Sebastian street festival and the fee for the fort was waived.

On the Allure the Cafe Promenade was open at 5 am the times I stopped by.

Oh so true. On our Allure cruise, the crew, ship, and food was fabulous. Some of the passengers, not so much. So much entitlement and rudeness while on a fantastic vacation I will never understand.
