  1. We go to Mexico often as my husband is from the Tulum area, this is the brand we have used for a few years.

I would suggest to reapply every 2 hours or so, just from my experience.  Also there is no shade within the ruins of Tulum, I highly suggest a light shaw or coverup to put on every so often

In previous years ESPN Caribbean has tended to carry NFL games from CBS.  My home team usually is played on Fox so I'm often out of luck.  A Voom Surf and Stream plan with a tablet has been used several times to watch my team when other teams were played on the ship TV system.

We just purchased the surf and stream package for football.  LOL, he doesn't want to take any chances

In terms of obstructed view, it doens't mean your window will face a brick wall. Often, obstructed view means there is something blocking one angle of your view. In my experience, there's a lifeboat below your balcony and that means you cannot look straight down.

If that is all, than I am ok with that.  I would be looking out more than down anyway ?

  4. We were supposed to be on the Oasis April 7th, and booked using our credit on the Allure for Dec.  We booked a guaranteed Oceanview Balcony, XB-GTY,  now I'm worried about an obstructed view, does it have obstructed views? should we just change to pick our room?  or take our chance?  Has anyone gotten an obstructed view with the guarantee? or am I just thinking to hard about it?

  5. As disappointed as I was last night when I got the call and email about our cruise being cancelled for this Sunday, it only took a few hours to come up with a new plan.  Since it's our 25th Anniversary, we're going to catch a last minute flight to Puerto Vallarta and stay at this fabulous looking resort I've had my eye on.   Since we ended up with this great credit offer from Royal, we are now looking at 10 day Med Cruise for next year.

  6. As we are about to head out on our 1st cruise, for our 25th Anniversary on the Oasis,   I called RC to see if I could set up a romantic balcony dinner on our actual anniversary, which they will do since it is a milestone anniversary.    While I was on the phone, I asked what the cap was per drink for the Deluxe drink package, I was told $12.   Since it is Oasis class, I thought it was $13 since I've read drinks are a little higher.   Anyone who has sailed recently know for sure?

Does the casino take cash for slots and table games? or do I have to add cash to my sea pass card?

And a BIG THANK YOU for all the advice and allowing me to just blog stalking the last several months.  I've been wanting to cruise forever, but my other half doesn't like being on someone else's schedule,  so no tours for us, just where our feet take us in port.  (Nassau, St Thomas and St Marteen)   I'm hoping he likes it as much as I know I will so we can go one more now that we are empty nesters.

  7. I have a severe fish allergy (not just shellfish)that is well documented with RC.   I can't ingest fish, and I also carry my EpiPen everywhere for cross-contamination in kitchens.  My question is, my group really wants to eat at Izumi, can they serve me food from another restaurant there, or can I eat beforehand to just sit with them, and maybe bring in a dessert, or something..    I am at a crossroad, as my group won't eat there if I don't, and I don't want to hinder their vacation as well.   (At home, at a seafood restaraunt, I'll get a steak or chicken, but just don't see that option on the menu online)

  8. We have the deluxe drink package, and I'm a little confused with dinner and drinks.  In the MDR, can I order more than one glass of wine with my dinner?  Do they have a separate drink menu, or you can ask for whatever?  Am I limited to certain wines, because I like a good Riesling with dinner

Same goes for Specialty Dining, can I order more than 1 glass of wine with dinner?

For the specialty drinks, I've seen different pricing, we are on Oasis in a couple weeks, what is the max price before I have to pay out of pocket?  I've seen $13 and I've seen $12 (not that it matters too much, we've given ourselves a $100 budget for going over,  it's our  25th Anniversary, and new empty nesters, so I plan on enjoying myself a little more than normal)

  9. Yes, there are several things to see at Pearl Harbor, the USS Bowfin Submarine, Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pacific Aviation Museum,  a beautiful park, and it is free to get into the park, although they appreciate donations.
