You pay for our cabins and be the odd stranger walking past on the snow covered pool deck...  in your swim gear.   Deal?
You won't have to actually apply any sunscreen, we'll just catch your response before ending the scope.

It would be a really funny scope if you lounged on a recliner in your swim gear ...... in January...... in Baltimore......on a snowy Grandeur.  You could even ask a passerby if they would help you apply sunscreen

That would be funny.  Sit on their towel.  Put on their flip flops.  Read their magazine.  Wait for them to return.
    That might be scope worthy.

So Royal Caribbean's advice is nothing before 11 AM. I know the Royal Caribbean can be conservative with their guidance, however, listening to @princevaliantus I called my airline to change it.
So all good news here. My airline changed the flight at no cost. Since I was flying to a smaller airport in the Boston area and no connections to the smaller airport worked, I was able to change to a direct flight to Boston. I was worried that I would have to pay the difference, and that proved unfounded. So while we are leaving much later, we are now arriving a half hour earlier than originally planned, and since we are arriving on a Saturday night the commuting time between the different airports difference is negligible.

Sometimes, like Explorer last week, they didn't provide the code at check in like they should have since I prepaid.  In that event just visit the Voom desk they set up somewhere on day 1, typically in a promenade type area.  I think that's happened twice to me.   Easy to get the code from them.
Ironically the Voom desk line on day one can become long because people don't realize they can do it themselves on board.
If you choose to not prepay and are buying on board, you don't have to stand in line at the Voom desk.  Just connect and launch your browser (if it doesn't redirect try to go to some website you don't normally visit.  I use abc.com just because its A B C .com and simple to type).  You can then follow the pages to create an account that you use to log in instead of a access code.  Part of that is cabin number so it can figure out what C&A discount to apply. It then charges it to your onboard account.  This only applies to onboard purchases of Voom.
I actually prefer this since I can remember a simple username/password combo I create over a 7 digit random code you get when pre-purchasing.

‪#Hurricane #Beryl (you read that correctly) looks like a mess on satellite, but the core has still found a way to go to Cat 1. Don’t be alarmed by the overnight upgrade, as there is a hostile environment ahead for Beryl. Most data suggests it weakens significantly Royal Caribbean International"
Also, a tweet from Harmony captain Johnny:
18hrs ago: "The #harmonyoftheseas are already starting to plan for a back up plan for next cruise. At this moment it looks good for a normal Eastern which include Nassau Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Kitts. Exiting times and never a dull moment in the office ;-)"
21mins ago:  "It’s a lot of weather in the Caribbean for the time being, it nothing dramatic coming up next week. #Harmonyoftheseas will be Eastbound and all looks good so far. #sunyskies"
I wouldn't worry.  The ships are use to dealing with situations like this.  I would worry if a hurricane was to hit my port of embarkation/disembarkation.  But otherwise, enjoy your cruise.  Be flexible to changes in itineraries.

Actually, it isn't enough time.  Do not go by cruise compasses as that is just an estimate.  I was on FotS out of San Juan two weeks ago and they were still experiencing issues on the island. I did self-debarkation and didn't get through custom until 9:05am as the building lost electricity and everything was done manually.  I wouldn't chance it as if you miss your flight, you are held liable. You have the opportunity now to change your flight without penalty since the airline rebooked you to an earlier flight. Just call them and explain the issue as you want to be booked on a later flight.

CraftyCat05 reacted to Lovetocruise2002 in Rise in cost in sailings that involve Coco Cay?
So I thought I would post this observation.  I'm not sure if it is just a coincidence for my sailings or if others notice it on theirs too, but I am curious...
As some of you know, I track prices constantly on my sailings.  For the longest time (since about November 2017) my Symphony sailing (for the end of July 2019) and my Oasis sailing (mid-March 2020) were the highest priced sailings for those ships in those months.  Both of the itineraries that I booked do not involve Coco Cay.  Over June, I've slipped a bit in my checking.  Got distracted by Mariner and other stuff, but this morning, as I sat down to check, I noticed that my sailings are now not the highest priced ones for those ships for those months.  For each one, the sailings involving Perfect Day are now higher in price compared to the sailings without (for the months I am sailing).
Not sure if I've confused anyone.  I could post screen shots but I'm having a lazy morning lol.  Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing?  If so, Coco Cay is costing more not just upfront but also in the actual cruise fare.

On Anthem in the solarium I saw a child around 10 yo say to their father:
"Dad, am I suppose to be in here? it says over 16".
    Dad replied "Shhh, keep walking".
Some people don't think rules apply to them on a cruise.
Case in point - chair hogs.

In all my years of following live blogs, I have never, here or anywhere else, come across a disruption such as this, in someone's live blog.  A live blog is one's personal account of their vacation.  It takes time, effort, commitment, funds (for VOOM) to put one together.  We all have differing viewpoints.  That's what makes the world go around.  However, let's show @Joe01 some respect by allowing him to continue his live blog without whatever this is.

I don't believe the OP has done anything but express a dislike for a certain Cruise Director's style/approach.  There's nothing wrong with mentioning that, so long as there is no use of profanity, personal insults or anything else abusive.
Based on what I've read in this thread, there's nothing abusive going on here.
If you feel there is an issue, please feel free to reach out to me or another admin and we can look into it. Thanks.

My son was exhausted from his early flight and coming from the East coast the 3 hour difference caught up to him so he went to bed.  I saw the makings of a sunset through the overcast and found the deck 4 outer decks the only place to catch it.

It was very cool and we had a strong wind so they closed the upper decks and helipad access.  I grabbed this photo of the pool deck as I sought places to capture the sunset.

Since I have the drink package my route between photo locations somehow included a bar along the path.  Here is the Promenade as I made my way back down to deck 4.

I am trying a new camera this cruise and decided to push the limits a bit to see what I could away with.  This is a 1/3 second shutter speed trying to create some motion blur in the waves while hoping for a clear and steady picture of the ship.  I think it turned out pretty good.

    Same trick looking aft.

As the sun continued to set there were some lovely pastel colors presented in the mountains surrounding us on both sides of this passage between Canada to our North and America to our South.  Combined with varying levels of cloud coverage it was very pretty.  This was shortly after 9pm.

Back inside I happened across "The Tavern" in the Boleros area on other ships.  This is kind of a sports bar at times but also used for things like Karaoke.

To the pub for a beer and some pub music.

I ventured back outside and again did some experimenting with my camera.  By this point the moon was out and combined with gaps in the cloud coverage it created some dramatic scenes.

I ran into the @cookingyo s at the Schooner Bar and sat with them for a while.  It was getting late and time for bed so I hopped in an elevator and made my way back to my cabin.  Saturday already.

    Day one complete.
