  1. I do the same thing. Besides, usually I'm done with the chair by the time the original occupant has returned. I had the same experience on Allure, it gets busier at peak times but not terrible. There are enough considerate people out there who don't hog chairs.
  2. Thanks @dimysmith , that is good to know. I was contemplating doing a post-cruise excursion given the extra time. So I'll plan being 1 and a half to 2 hours early for my flight.
  3. So Royal Caribbean's advice is nothing before 11 AM. I know the Royal Caribbean can be conservative with their guidance, however, listening to @princevaliantus I called my airline to change it. So all good news here. My airline changed the flight at no cost. Since I was flying to a smaller airport in the Boston area and no connections to the smaller airport worked, I was able to change to a direct flight to Boston. I was worried that I would have to pay the difference, and that proved unfounded. So while we are leaving much later, we are now arriving a half hour earlier than originally planned, and since we are arriving on a Saturday night the commuting time between the different airports difference is negligible.
  4. I am sailing on the Freedom OTS in August. My airline changed my departure flights to 9:30. With self baggage, is that enough time to debark the Freedom and get to the airport?
  5. Make sure you do reserve for the comedy club as it seats only 90 per show and the stand by line gets long. The comedians typically perform a couple of shows on one night in the main theater.
  6. I'm running into a similar conundrum with something to do in Falmouth with my 6yo. My wife wants to do something but struggling to find something, while I'm considering not leaving the port area and enjoying the ship.
  7. Yes, I'm on the 04/17/16 Allure sailing and I also had the offer available. So glad I was randomly looking at the cruise planner website earlier today and was able to change what I had already booked.
  8. Best tip for getting to Magens Bay that I have is to leave the ship early especially before the excursions do and grab a cab. Getting off the ship early will allow you to get there before it gets crowded. Because we were at the beach so early (around 9:30 or so) we were done early so we grabbed a cab back to the ship without any problems. Once back in the port area we were able to walk around the town. I want to say the entire cab fare and admission for the three of us was between $50-$70 with tip.
  9. I'm in the same boat as you, except the age of our children. I have sailed 9 times on DCL and making the jump. My daughter of 6, has only sailed 5 times on DCL. We are cruising on the Allure in April. At first my daughter was disappointed she wasn't going on "Mickey's Big Ship." But given she is an outgoing little girl, and the kids club is more like camp to her, she is getting more and more excited. Plus the characters that she would have been excited to see in the past, while on our last cruise last April, she wasn't as interested (much to my wife's chagrin) in the characters anymore. Personally I am excited for the Allure and have been fascinated by Royal Caribbean for a while now. Finally I have convinced my wife to take the plunge. Of course saving 2.5K while upgrading from an oceanview to a balcony helps. While the Royal Caribbean cruise planning website needs some significant improvement, I will admit I like is the ability to pay for dining, excursions, drink package, and tips prior to the cruise. I like it because is a great thing for my state of mind as most everything is paid prior to the cruise. Therefore, I'm hoping I don't get sticker shock when I get the bill at the end of the cruise.
