Ours is one way, but we got the similar price on our flight from New York back to Houston.
On Southwest.

Wow...there almost certainly is a US airport you can drive to to save money...fares from my part of the world range $178 to $183 US to San Juan. I have been tracking fares for the month of May for a few weeks, and they have stayed steady.
I agree, we just purchased ours to San Juan on Southwest from Houston $152 PP

We are going there n May. These poor people. I've been there twice and each time it is better than the last.
I love San Juan so much!

I live just a few minutes from Galveston and this is our complaint also. Limited itineraries, same places over and over. There is quite a bit of talk about expanding the port, adding 2 more ships. Yes, getting to the port is a pain in the butt, especially if you fly into IAH. It's an hour + of straight driving. Much like flying into FLL and going to Miami.
Hobby is your best bet....When we travel, I always try to book out of Hobby. It's a smaller airport, not international. Plus there is major construction in I-45, the interstate leading to Galveston. We are all for the cruise lines expanding their itineraries out of Galveston!

Seasickness usually doesn't affect me, but yes, the ferry had me green around the gills. If I have to ride another, I'm taking Dramamine.

Great article! I learned a lot and I will listen much closer to the staff on my next cruise.

We have a later flight out of FLL and I know it's a short trip over to the airport from the port terminal. Our flight doesn't leave until 5:00 pm. Hate to have five kids sitting in the airport all day so I'll take all the extra ship time we can get. Willing to take our luggage off ourselves, whatever makes it easiest. Anyone hid in a lounge before?
Just a heads up...don't go to the airport too early. We did that our last time there and we weren't allowed up past security until 2 hours before our flight. We were stuck sitting down in baggage claim dreaming of the Starbucks upstairs.

Say a little thank you to the "Big Guy" of allowing me to be on vacation. And by Big Guy...I'm not talking about my husband...lol
We've had a rough year....cancer diagnoses for me, Major surgery, 12 chemo treatments, (finally finished), Hurricane Harvey flooding our home 2 weeks into my chemo. I wasn't allowed any alcohol during my treatments......yea, I'm ready for a cruise...and a big ole Bloody Mary! Come on May!!
-
Turns out we got a better deal on a flight coming in on the same day as our cruise, so we didn't need a hotel after all.

Yes, when I did our online check in for our May AOTS sailing, it had the photo prompt. I bypassed it since it was first thing in the morning and my hair had a mind of its own...lol. It let me proceed through without it.

We go in May! This is our first time to sail on her.

Not sure how he lost his wallet, passport etc.. it is not deep water, couldn't he dive down with his gear and get his stuff? :)
And why would you bring your passport to a dive trip? Mine goes into the safe on board and doesn't come out until we disembark at the end of the cruise!

Sound like these will be common "guaranteed rooms" as from what I hear they tend to give horrible rooms and save the good ones for people who pay the difference to pick.
Nope...these are high dollar rooms. The Hubs was pricing our cruise on AOTS in May after dry dock and these were more than the Spacious Oceanview Room we picked.

We have reservations for beach for the day here in April. I am wondering now with the Travel warning issues for that area, if we should cancel? We have to take a 10 minute taxi ride there and don't wish to be kidnapped! Thoughts?
We've been there twice, took a cab both times. We have never had a minutes trouble. The resort is nice..not super fancy, but if you want a nice relaxing beach day...Naichi is your place.
We go there every time we go to Cozumel.

According to a Jamaican newspaper, a new entertainment spot is scheduled to be constructed for cruise passengers.
Also, regarding the harassment of passengers...
You don't even have to leave out the fence to be harassed. Our first time there we we're window shopping in the Diamond International store. After being pecked to death by a female salesperson, I finally told her we weren't buying any jewelry today! She proceeded to call my husband cheap and lazy for not buying me jewelry. He was fuming!
Then not 10 minutes later, I was berated for not buying any Bob Marley coffee. It seriously left a bad taste in my mouth for Falmouth. Don't even get me started on the $25 nachos at Margaritaville!

Naichi says they only book 100 people per day.
Holy cow! Thats a lot of ships in port at one time!! At least you could split the cost of a taxi to the resort.
Can you imagine what the other resorts will be like? WHOA!!

This May will be our 3rd trip to San Juan. We have done most of the sightseeing tours. We will be arriving around 1:30 pm and the ship leaves around 8:30pm
Any ideas for something different to do? I love finding spices and flavored vanillas for baking. Any suggestions on where I can find a place selling those? I know there is an outdoor market close to the port, are there any others?

I love this itinerary!

I totally agree with arebee above. And, it is just nasty looking. Stay inside the fence, plenty of shops, little places to eat and there's a Marguaritaville also. You also have the option of eating on the ship.
Margaritaville...Only if you don't mind paying $25 for nachos
Falmouth...my least favorite port. I only get off the ship to buy booze at the duty free.
Most of the excursions are at least an hour by the "risk your life" bus rides. I guess I've heard too many horror stories.

I have lots of meds....with my luck, I would get the TSA agent fresh out of training who would end up strip searching me if I don't have my original bottle.
