  1. It will be 5 of us 4 adults and 7 years old. 4 adults purchased the thrill water park & zip line and Thrill water Park for my son who is 7 years old. He is not 48" tall yet. Really close to 48" tall but not quite. Do you think it is a waste of money? What he can do in the water park? Anyone know?

Can you get a Lemon Drop Martini with a drink coupon at a bar, or only in the Diamond Lounge?

If you are Diamond and above C&A member, Your set sail pass card (Cruise Card) loads with 3 free drinks (whatever alcohols list for Diamond). You can get the drink from most bar on the ship and most of them can make Lemon Drop Martini.

  3. I just want to add a little about the Oasis class ship and Europe. I just took a Med Cruise and it was lovely. However, I went with other cruise line which significant lower cost for Med cruise and I happy with my decision. For US cruiser, Med Cruise is a port intensive and we really want to go everywhere and do as much we can because we have to pay so much to be there. For me if I visit Europe (med cruise) the ports is my destination so I was careless about the ship. It was my floating hotel. So I will not book Oasis class ship which I have to pay more. In another hand, I will book Oasis class ship for Caribbean cruise where I always cruise every year. Most ports in Caribbean I already visited so I will enjoy the ship more. So Caribbean cruise, the ship is my destination. I have 2 Oasis class cruise book and will be on Symphony in October 2019 and Oasis in August 2020.

I've seen the word "Diamond" a few times in the postings.

Is Diamond a status you earn?  or are given?  etc?

Or, is it a certain lounge on the ship & so forth.  I'm new, just asking, please.  Drink vouchers sound... interesting.

(( Here in Las Vegas.. sorry to go off topic.. they have "Diamond Lounges" at some of the CaesasEntertainmentProperties.))

Yes, it is status we earned from taking the cruise with Royal Caribbean that can find more info here https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas/benefits/diamond-members/

Diamond Lounge is a designated area that C&A Diamond level and above can get in by using their sea pass card to enjoy the drinks and snacks at certain evening hours. 3 drinks also loaded to the sea pass card for C&A Diamond members and above to use at certain bars on the ship. However, there are alcohol lists for the Diamond drinks. Example of drink, for what you can get rum & coke (Barcadi silver only), Lemon drop martini, Cosmo Martini, Dirty Martini, Long Island Icetea, Miller lite, a few red &white wines list and more. Diamond Members and above also can enjoy the continental breakfast and premium coffee in the morning at Diamond Lounge.

If you go to the Diamond Lounge, they can make some 'better' drinks for you.  I discovered the joy of a simple Lemon Drop there last month on Rhapsody.

Well, more accurately the joy of 3 of them one evening... ?

Yes indeed refreshing. My favorite for Diamond lounge drink. Warning though !!! Lemon Drop taste so good and you don't feel like drink alcohol drink but it's strong. It can make you drop after 3 drinks. ?

Any word on $35.00 credit for Izumi Hibachi?

It had been reported on another cruise site (CC) that Izumi Hibachi included on Mariner OTS with $35 credit. If the meal cost more than $35 you will need to pay a difference.

Example, A 2 protein meal cost $45 - $35 credit = need to pay $10 extra per person. IMO, I think that include on all ships that have Hibachi but so far it had been reported from Mariner OTS. Ask the restaurant before you make a reservation.

  7. For me I think is the win-win for both Royal and cruisers. How much you can eat and you know everyone got to eat food somewhere on the ship either include or extra paid. One more benefit for Royal is for who that not get the drink package they might order drink too. So Royal get paid for the food and some drink and cruisers happy.

Anyway, I still have concerns. How Royal will handle reservations and how the crews that work in the specialty restaurant will handle this. I am sure will be more people buy the Unlimited package now.

  8. So unfortunate even and cannot control. So sorry for everyone that got cancel and RCI. According to the article somewhere cruise line only make an average close to $300 per guest (I think Oasis make more than that. The number is average from all cruise lines.)  If Oasis has average 5,500 guests on board each cruise. I think RCI lost avenue around (5,500 x $300) x 3 = $4,950,000 plus whatever need to pay the cruise members for 3 weeks and fix the beloved Oasis. However,  I am sure RCI has insurance.

  9. You can make reservations on the Royal IQ, Royal apps or the tablet on the ship. From my experience with Anthem of the Seas, I walked in the ship, all the tablet available right next to where I walked in. I suggest reserving the earliest time possible because the weather is unpredictable. I-fly, North Star and shows can be canceled if the weather does not permit them to operate. If it gets cancel you still have time to reschedule if you reserve them early.

Yeah I never really worried about it too much, until Royal UP came along.  Then I contacted them again, and still no luck.  No Royal UP for me...

Just a thought but not sure will help. Maybe you could go to Diamond lounge then ask the person on the C&A desk (sorry don't know what to call that person at the desk (Diamond lounge ambassador)) to change it for you. Not sure he/she can access your account on the ship but just a thought.
