My wife is the same....desperate for a break away from the house.
She has actually suggested cancelling our planned cruise from PR next March due to all of the uncertainty in relation to us actually getting on the ship!
Will we be able to fly?
if we can will we have to fly direct or could we go via NYC?
Even if we can fly will the cruise only be open to Puerto Ricans?
And even if it's open to all what will the capacity be? A reduced capacity means we could be bumped off cruise!
And if it is reduced and we don't get on ship when would they let you know as there is so much planning involved.
All of this going through my Wifes head so she just wants a break now ?

    First dose appointment tomorrow.
State age limit officially drops as of tomorrow but one of pharmacies offering shots has lowered the age limit on their website today as they said they would since all appointments offered begin tomorrow.
Feeling more confident now I'll be ready to meet any vaccine requirement to cruise and maybe even be ready for any test cruises that could be coming.
    I'm ready to travel again.

I may have mentioned Barcelona as a port that cruiselines could sail from but not that it may open soon.

Great news.  With every ship sailing it's more proof that protocols work.

No its the Haggis that does that!
However under the scottish wildlife act 1982 Sect 4 (5) you cannot catch them during the months of june to august as thats their breeding season.

Australia/New Zealand is due for release this week but that's unrelated.
They have committed to releasing more health protocol information prior to releasing Adventure in Nassau cruises.
The idea is to let people know what the protocols will be so they can decide if they should book Adventure or not.

Let’s all stick to the topic of this thread, which I am assuming is the interest level of sailing out of the Bahamas this summer.

Let’s not turn this into a thread where we are criticizing or judging other countries for their vaccine rollout or question why their government did what they did.

The way I see it, the bottom line is that we are all frustrated on some level regardless of what country we are from. We all want to get back to cruising. But no amount of criticism, or playing the would have, should have, could have game is going to change any of the decisions that our governments have already made, nor will it speed up the rollout of vaccines in different parts of the world. Nor will it get us back to cruising sooner so the discussion is quite pointless.

Stick to the thread topic, are you interested in sailing out of the Bahamas or not? All other discussions belong on some other forum. Not here.

Got as far as here and after that everything was a blur! Simply because i kept on thinking about the MSC ship thats been cruising the med with passengers since last year! Costa and Aida ships as well with no issues  ( well apart from the passengers that got kicked off cruise for not following procedures)
Yet WE in Europe screwed it up!

Maybe you could enlighten me with how you come to that conclusion

    TYIA
Ps how many NA cruises right now? Oh thats right none and if you want to cruise you will have to travel to Europe or Caribbean

Locking this thread. We're here to talk Adventure of the Seas, not debate if vaccines are good or not.
This forum is not for debating if a vaccine works, or your views of the vaccine.
Clearly Royal Caribbean will require a vaccine for Adventure, so it is what it is.

Most people have had to put their lives on hold for the last year.  Most people have sacrificed in some manner or another.  You know who else will get to go cruising in the Caribbean? The first responders and health care workers who have been putting their lives on the line for the past year - many who ARE part of the "younger generation" (assuming they can get away for a short time).  Honestly, this is just an issue that will not be an issue for long.

Ray reacted to twangster in Crew reconstitution? Will there be a change in strategy in how you bring them back?
What I imagine will occur for re-crewing ships will be a matter of an HR exercise to match eligible crew with ship board positions for the next ship they want to sail.
There's lots of talk of "Royal should sail here next"  or "Royal should sail there next".  That's all well and good but Royal can only crew a ship as crew are able to reach the ship and crew can be or are vaccinated.  They can't fill every ship and every position overnight.
This problem of crewing the next ship or trying to plan which ship should be next and where is complicated by public health agencies that refuse to work with the industry.
That's kind of like trying to buy a house when no mortgage lender will allow you to apply for a mortgage even though you are guaranteed to qualify.  You know your financial situation.  You believe you qualify.  You have a sizeable down payment.  You have a high paying stable job.  Your problem isn't the ability to qualify for a mortgage, your problem is the lenders aren't answering the phone, responding to emails and their websites are blank or unchanged.   You know the home you want to buy, you know when you need to move, but you are stuck in limbo waiting for a lender to take your phone call.  The lights are on but nobody's home.
That makes it very challenging to commit to the next ship and port where you are going to send resources.
Singapore and Israel are example of what occurs when governments work with industry.   Cruise lines can play the game when they know what sport they are playing and where the goal posts are.
It's really hard to build a team when you don't know what sport is going to be allowed to be played on the field.
In an ideal world cruise lines would have a clear path to restarting.  That doesn't exist today so it makes the job of bringing crew back incredibly difficult.
