  1. GPC was fine. We had booked it with a hotel package in Orlando. Our problem was that it didn't pick us up from the hotel until 11:30 am, so we wouldn't have gotten to the port until almost 1. We like to arrive earlier than that, so now out of PC we either rent a car or go with smart-two.
  2. Yesterday my in-laws were asking my wife where we were going and she said "The Bahamas", as I quietly muttered "No" under my breath... To which she replied "I don't really know, I just get on the plane and go on vacation." Also freaking out a little because I have yet to pack anything. Brought the suitcases upstairs yesterday, but work has been severely getting in the way of my packing ability.
  3. We plan on going to La Suciere near Simpson Bay when we are there next month, based on @Matt recommendation.
  4. We are staying at the Embassy, and getting in around noon on July 3. We won't be making the trek into the city for the meet-up. We plan on doing some shopping at the outlet mall, and then getting Santillo's pizza for dinner.
  5. Mine have a zipper that goes around twice, so it expands when unzipped with more cloth than usual between the zipper halves. Then when you zip, it contracts and compresses everything inside.
  6. I ordered some from kickstarter that we used on our last cruise that were great. Qubix is the brand. They are double compression cubes. Having used non-compression, I definitely recommend compression variants. It saves a lot of room, just have to be careful with weight.
  7. If we don't rent a car, we've used smart-two before and really enjoyed it. https://www.smart-two.com/en/transportation/orlando-airport/shuttles/port-canaveral/index.html
  8. For a small fee, I will operate as the RCBlog Sea Based Genie, similar to the Paul Crow land based Genie, and sneak you in to CK if need be. ?
  9. When I was on Oasis, I was able to set charge amounts, or cut off charging completely for my daughter's card. When I did check in for our Anthem cruise, I don't remember being able to do that however, and I can't log-in right now to be able to verify....
  10. Was this excursion available the entire time in the cruise planner? It's not in ours for our June 2020 cruise, and I would love to do it since I too am enamored with glass blowing. Just curious if it was something added closer to the cruise.
  11. Glad I already have my Alaska cruise booked... Although this blog will probably lead me to spend money on camera equipment...
  12. So excited you're on board. We're in Star Class on the Group Cruise July 4, so I'm really getting excited seeing an Anthem Star Class blog.
  13. Things we have to bring with us: Laundry hamper, magnetic hooks, battery powered alarm clock, charging USB hub (since almost everything charges via USB, and this won't get taken by security as a "power strip"). I also prepack all of my pills using a pill suite pill organizer from Amazon. It seals each dose in a little plastic bag, which is great if you have a lot of pills/vitamins you take throughout the day. We also swear by the over the door travel dop kits as it saves a lot of space in the bathroom. Double-zip compression packing cubes are great. And the last thing I always take is a travel luggage scale, that way there are no surprises at the airport when I repack.
  14. I cropped all of our pictures in the Photos app on my mac, in order to get rid of the barcode at the bottom of the picture, and then printed them online with https://www.mpix.com/ with no issues.
  15. I always look at the watches, but then I look online before I buy anything on the ship. In my experience, everything on the ship is much more than I could get it for online. I use Crown and Caliber as a good gauge for the used watches. I've also had the same experience with the Bulova watches on the sidewalk sale being about $30 more than Amazon.
  16. 1. Oasis 2. Majesty 3. Enchantment I'm looking forward to Anthem, Freedom, and Ovation. We also have Oasis booked after her amp, so I'm excited to see what will be different. Enchantment will probably continue to hang near the bottom, but Majesty will hang near the top due to it being our first RC cruise, and I really loved the crew on Majesty.
  17. The promise of the Genie is getting me through these next 76 days for sure. Employee issues at the salon have me pulling my hair out, and I think my manager walked in on me in the break room when I was mumbling to myself "76 days until Star Class. All work and no play makes Lance a dull boy"
  18. Was going to make a joke at the Leafs expense, but then again I'm a Blues fan, so I don't have much room to talk on the Cup front...
  19. We had this similar issue on our last cruise. We went side 2 side on Oasis and Enchantment out of PC and had purchased alcohol on the Oasis cruise. We were told by the concierge on Enchantment that security would confiscate it and return it back to us at the end of the Enchantment cruise. Shipping alcohol without a license is illegal in the United States, but somehow our bottles of rum disappeared when we walked in the UPS store in PC and showed up at our house a few days later, so unfortunately I can't speak with 100% certainty that security will confiscate and return.
  20. In Cozumel, I'm a big fan of Nachi Cocom. Matt also recently reviewed El Cozumeleno and was impressed with it. If you are a coffee drinker, I recommend a detour to COZ coffee downtown. My wife swears by it. Right around the corner from COZ is Sucre Sale, which has wonderful French pastries, and Chocolateria Isla Bella, which has amazing handmade chocolates. They grow their own beans on the island, and create a "bean to bar" chocolate in house. Now pardon me while I go daydream and drool about all of those places...
  21. One upside to living in the midwest, and very near STL, is that SWA flights are plentiful and inexpensive...
  22. We used smart-two.com last time going from PC to MCO and really liked it. I think we would use it again going from MCO to PC if we didn't rent a car. Usually we rent a car in MCO and return it at PC. We used National since the return is really close to Terminal 1. smart-two was great though. It is a Nissan NV van, and it was just the 3 of us in the van. They have wifi in the van as well. We liked it much better than goportcanaveral.
  23. We are looking at the Aquarium and Zoo. Has anyone here done that? I can't get a good feel from the website if the aquarium is worth it. We just figure this will be something good for our daughter.
