  1. In the Royal app you can see dates from Florida starting July 3. July 3 - 8 Nights, Aruba, Curacao, PerfectDay
  2. The CSO needs to be taken out. So far the judge isn't willing to go there. In fact the judge played right from the CDC playbook. He introduced another unnecessary delay to keep ships from sailing. Mediation just was the judge kicking the can down the road a month or so on the CDC's behalf.
  3. The shoreside contract component was just another way to give the CDC a thousand ways to stop ships from sailing. There are so many ways the CDC could find fault with any contract submitted. Until it is removed from the CSO (or heavily modified) ships won't sail. Let's hope that is part of the big news coming.
  4. Masks not required if they are in the pool.
  5. The shoreside healthcare contract requirements are pretty onerous too. One could interpret them to mean they need to accommodate a scenario where 100% of guest and crew on all ships sailing will become infected and need to have available space for treatment by a shoreside healthcare provider. Even if a cruise line could execute such a contract it still has to be submitted to the CDC for review and acceptance and there is zero guarantee the CDC will accept any contract that is submitted.
  6. All the CSO updates in the world are meaningless while the shoreside healthcare requirements are still required. No masks, no tests, no vaccine, etc. are inconsequential updates so long as the shoreside healthcare contracts are required. It's like telling your 15 year old kid... "I'm going to buy you a car when you turn 16... as long as you have a job with a six figure salary". Ha Ha!!! If the CSO updates remove the shoreside healthcare contract requirements now we are in business. Everything else is just noise.
  7. Probably but as we know with Royal they don't publish these sorts of things.
  8. Port of Miami certainly failed on its job to build the roads to keep up with cruise traffic. Construction of NCL's terminal next door contributed to that but at least that's done now. Hopefully once MSC's terminal is built that will improve all cruise traffic at the end of "terminal row".
  9. Also looks like Adventure is still using the old Voom satellites. Didn't expect that to change so it is what it is.
  10. I wonder how long since she has been able to put on a pair of skates. It must have felt great to finally get back on the ice, assuming at this point she has.
  11. It's easy to forget crew all over are doing this to get ready to return to sailing. Interesting to see how the entertainment cast are getting ready for the shows. Great find.
  12. I think many of us are aware and most of us expect the CDC to use this as another delay tactic to kick the can as far as they can.
  13. The problem with PEV is its industrial nature. Given its role with the movement of fuel for South Florida it's a secure marine facility requiring the extra security just to get onto the military base port grounds. Royal has long viewed the overall experience to include the embarkation and debarkation. PEV can't evolve past the primary purpose of being a shipping port first, cruise port a very distant second. Even the beautiful Celebrity terminal is impacted in this way at PEV. Miami is free of that tanker baggage. The cruise and shipping terminals are distinct and separate on Dodge Island giving them the freedom to create a user experience that starts before arriving at the terminal.
  14. For all the reasons why the State of Florida filed their lawsuit. I really don't think there is reason to burn out a keyboard retyping them here. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/04/08/florida-sues-cdc-get-cruise-ships-sailing-again Ms. Moody elaborate who this lawsuit is directed against, "We have filed suit this morning just before meeting with you here today, against the administration, HHS and the CDC, demanding that the court find that this effective No Sail Order is unlawful and allow our cruises to resume safely."
  15. Only Alaska and Canada/NE cruises in 2021 had the final payment due date modified. All other cruises remain 90 days for cruises 5 nights or longer, 75 days for cruises less than 5 nights.
  16. What do you call a cow with a twitch? Beef Jerky.
  17. Let's hope mediation is scheduled for as early as possible and they can send it back to the court before the deadline. Kick it back next Monday. Why wait for June 1?
  18. Family in Canada got AZ as their first shot weeks before it was removed from the market. Totally understand.
  19. Hopefully it will ramp up as fast as it did in the US. It seemed agonizingly slow when it started but it was just a few months before it improved.
  20. Adventure on the move from St. Maarten due into PC tomorrow.
  21. Explorer arriving in Port Canaveral right now. https://www.portcanaveralwebcam.com/
  22. Many of have lost great rates or special voyages so we can relate. I've also lost family so in the bigger scheme losing out on several cruises must be kept in perspective for me. No one knows when the CDC here will finally do enough so that ships can sail. This is all on the CDC as their outdated policies are the only obstacle to ships sailing. Will the CDC finally get over themselves this week? We all hope so, but we don't know. All any of us can do is wait and hope.
