  1. If you are not app inclined you can dial 2323 or visit guest services. I would make it a priority when you board. I had an app issue where my cruise was there but it treated me like I wasn't on the cruise in terms of making entertainment and dinner reservations. Guest services unlinked and linked my cruise and then it worked.
  2. You can slip the black retaining clip off by pulling the band through it when you first get it and can still get it off your wrist. Then you just have the band. Since I wear an Apple watch I lay the vax band across my watch band before closing my watch band, then I tuck the excess between my watch band and wrist. This allows me to remove it to shower and re-apply it when leaving my cabin and I don't have the black plastic clip getting in my way when I use my laptop or do anything else.
  3. I still struggle with nuances of the english language. Try going to a restaurant in Boston. They'll ask you if want wada.
  4. She isn't flying to Canada. She is driving to Canada. Different rules for driving across the border versus flying to Canada. The rules are applied depending how you arrive into Canada. If you enter Canada by plane the rules don't change depending how the flight was routed and if there was an in-transit country on the way. You are stepping off a plane in Canada and will then be processed by CBSA. The rule for flights into Canada applies. That is the case even if you add a stopover and stay in the US for a few days then fly on to Canada. You are still walking off a plane and arriving in Canada on a plane. Your "port of entry" is an airport. Driving into Canada at a land border crossing has its own set of rules. Why? Because CBSA says so.
  5. I booked Edge without any perks (not All In) as a solo in an interior at an unbelievable low price. I realize The Retreat will be off limits, I will only have Elite beverages, no wifi and I have to pay daily gratuity but I am less than $95 per night.
  6. Does your test requiring driving to a testing site? If so the test results may be the last of your worries...
  7. I have some "spirited" kids next to me but I only occasionally here some children at play. The sounds of children playing and having a good is music to the ears albeit not a tune I care for perpetually repeating. Being a sound sleeper it doesn't bother me. When working from a cruise ship you do have to bear in mind that everyone else is on vacation. This is their fun time away from work or school. Hopefully as the cruise progresses the newness of being on a cruise will settle into a routine for your neighbors. Hopefully that routine doesn't include slamming the doors.
  8. I have the audio book version. Great recommendation. As we sailed through the canal I had this book in my thoughts.
  9. It’s a judgement call. If it continues and you reach your limit I’d suggest talking to the deck supervisor. Ask your cabin attendant to get him or her. Escalates from there if it doesn't improve But now you know why some avoid holiday cruises or spring break cruises
  10. It's unlikely anyone here can answer this question without guessing or just making something up.
  11. I'd recommend tipping in the currency of the home port as the only alternative to USD such as when sailing from other regions. For Royal ships though USD is king wherever they sail. Tipping in less common currency is almost a slap in the face. "Here is some money you will probably never be able to use. Haha - jokes on you!".
  12. Processed food in packaging is allowed (chips, candy bars, etc.) but I'm not so certain store bought bread would be included in that.
  13. While I own two Anker chargers I now just carry this with me. The main reason is that I can put it into the round Euro powerport leaving the 110 volt North American outlets free for other uses. It has four USB charging ports. This also helped when I sailed from Australia and Spain as it adapts to other style power ports in many countries when staying in hotels. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD88PCK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_95F22ZQ490PWB0A7ZT4J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I have an Anker USB multi-port with the latest USB-C fast charging but it has a separate power cord and the one above is a cleaner solution for me even though it doesn't have the latest USB-C ports. My older Anker 10 port USB charger now stays at home.
  14. This is why you should always pack a few clothes in a carry on when flying. Your travel insurance should have some coverage for lost baggage.
  15. The Physicians address they use is the terminal of departure. No mention I was somewhere on the sea at the time. PCR on Allure: For two antigen tests I've done on board they also use the terminal address: However I've heard that for some of the testing they are moving to doing it in the terminal upon debarking. Not sure if that includes international PCR testing or not.
  16. Revenue stream - you don't buy it from Royal Caribbean! Where is the revenue stream? Optum direct: Optum redirected from Royal Caribbean: SAME PRICE So how is Royal turning this into a revenue stream when they don't sell them? They redirect you to Optum where you pay the same price! You buy it from Optum and Optum ships it. As far as eMed and their 6 pack, most groups boarding a Royal cruise are not a party of 6. Kids can't use these so how many people need more than two to board a cruise? Plus eMed charges for shipping while Optum includes shipping. eMed had no inventory when Royal introduced this. Only recently has eMed started taking orders again. What wild accusation would you level against Royal for offering eMed with no inventory to offer and a backorder status? You are just wrong dude. Enough fake news and wild unsupported accusations. Welcome to the block party. Ignored. Buh Bye.
  17. There are two USB ports at the desk and another one on the back of the TV but the TV port is a slow charge port. There are also two regular A.C. outlets at the desk as well plus one near the head of the bed. How do they charge their phones at home?
  18. Have you tried googling independent tours? The only word of caution is unknown or changing protocols. Some countries require a ship excursion to leave the ship. This might cost $10 more than direct but it includes bus transportation from the ship. If you have kids in your party or if Panama decides to require ship excursions you may regret not buying this now. It was $180 in 2019 on board so $160 doesn't seem like a terrible price. The tour boat has to pay canal fees like everyone else. Looking back through email, I paid $169 in the cruise planner pre-cruise: Wonders of Engineering: Panama Canal Locks and Culebra Cut Cruise 07:00 AM Total Cost: 169.00 USD Guaranteed Language: English It did go on sale later though. My advice - buy it now. Watch for sales. You can cancel up two 2 days before the cruise starts or on board on day one, but once this is sold out, you are on your own.
  19. I'm betting it wasn't supposed to be made public yet because no one else published it. Now they are likely trying to reset and presumably formulating another plan to make a big splash with it. Stay tuned.
  20. Carry on is more relaxed on a cruise then a plane because it does not have to fit in an overhead bin like on a plane. My suggestion would be to put wine in a roller bag style carry on. Two in one bag max. The other adult can also have two in their carry on. Security often has a stream of people going through so two separate bags that have two bottles each looks compliant. One bag with four bottles raises a flag.
  21. Testing children at the pier can be problematic. Squirming children who won’t hold still can lead to inconclusive tests so it has to be repeated. As numbers of cruisers go up but the CDC protocols don’t change they need more time. The ship will still sail, you’ll still reach your destination on time. In the bigger picture it’s inconsequential.
  22. RC literally redirects you to the Optum store. Same price as Optum direct. EMed only offered a 6 pack. Buy in bulk on EMed for a discount if you like. However the 6 pack would be overkill for some. Two people going on a cruise don’t need a 6 pack so they can use Optum for their needs. Optum only offers 2 & 3 packs at a higher per unit cost compared to EMed. That’s on Optum, not Royal. Truthfully, Royal had been providing free tests for consecutive cruisers and international travelers on US home port sailings. They are not and have not tried to turn testing into a profit item. I know you pride yourself on detailed and lengthy posts to support those details but you are wrong shaming Royal for Optum offering smaller packaging and charging more per unit then EMed does who only sells the 6 pack.
  23. The one on the left. Oh wait. I’m in the pub and just closed one eye. Now I only see one.
  24. How wet? Can the hotel hair dryer be a tool for you?
  25. I don't think PlusGrade has armies of people looking at each flight or each cruise they manage as a 3rd party. As humans we focus on OUR cruise but PlusGrade is looking at hundreds of flights and cruises for all the companies they service. It's all in an algorithm - that we'll never know the details about. If they leave a few dollars on the table occasionally no one will likely know.
