We are currently on this cruise.  The weather has been beautiful (except for departure day) and all is well.  Hopefully it remains that way !  We're in Bermuda now...will stay overnight and leave tomorrow afternoon.  Very enjoyable and relaxing.

I'm certainly no expert, just a worry wart cruiser ?, but I saw a weatherman yesterday who said only about 10% of hurricanes located where this one is will make landfall in the US. I assume it's far enough south that we will be spared. I surely hope so. 

We had a bad one in 1997 on a repo from San Juan to NYC.  The seas from SJ to Bermuda were so bad they put out bowls of Dramamine for people to take as they wanted.  Most of the passengers were sick, many crew sick too...it was horrible.   I was pregnant so of course I couldn't take anything!  We met a nice couple in Bermuda who told us about these wonderful pressure point bands you wear on your wrist that were in the ship store.  We bought two sets when we got back on later that day and wore them the rest of the trip to NYC.  We were very surprised they were not sold out!  20 years later, I still have them and they've gone on every cruise since. 

That's exactly what my Cruise Planner said!!  The irony is we booked the April Cruise first, got the cabin, then decided to book the January cruise and they assigned the same stateroom so I figured it was kismit! Meant to be so don't change it! I am going to listen to you Brian!! Thank you!!!

Loved my Equinox cruise.  Great ship!

I am on The Equinox January 26, 2019 and again on Equinox April 27, 2019!!! Wanted the Edge, but the category I wanted had obstructed view so I wasn't going to spend all that money for an obstructed view, hoping to get on her in August in she's still in the USA.  Eventually I will! Would love to see Celebrity Blog!!  

On our last flight leg home. Made it off of the ship by 3:30 Miami time. Customs did a great job speeding things along.  We were one of the earlier ones off but speculating all who had a 7 pm flight or later booked made it just fine. As promised, RC had buses waiting to wisk us to the airports and even supplied a care package for all to have water and snack on the bus ride.
Communication was great onboard the ship all day long. I didn't catch his name but I gathered he was a top RC executive - he addressed the entire ship once we arrived Miami. That was a nice touch!  
We saw local news crews near some of the buses as we pulled away from the port but didn't see any broadcasts on the airport tvs.
Hope to hear the remainder of our fellow passengers make it safely back to Galveston sometime soon!!

I hope you get out Coneyraven, they are also talking about another system next week, Bermuda/Caribbean/Carolina's guess it's too soon to tell, we will be in the Outer Banks Sept 9-16 so hoping it stays away, now I"m rethinking my booking for next Sept from Baltimore, but it's hit or miss.  Sending positive thoughts your way and hope all is well with your upcoming trip!

FManke, I don't think you have anything to worry about about. As an underwriter, most type 2 is from overweight and lack of exercise. You are licking it and you should be proud.  As others have said, you know what to eat and portion control. Enjoy that ice cream if you want it (one scoop! LOL). Have a great time, relax and enjoy your trip!

As I suspected, this change in Royal's Next Cruise Program, as expressed by many, have left sales on-board on the downside. There has been a drop in future bookings on-board as many have noticed and stated. I wonder if the Next Cruise Staff can file for unemployment?!?!  ? ?

Congratulations on your choice of ship.  All the Oasis class ships are a wonder.  Choosing your room is a matter of preference on the type of view you want and what you can afford.  We prefer the ocean views.  Central Park and Boardwalk rooms seems like your just staring into another balcony room the whole time.  Ordering a pot of coffee in the morning and looking out over the water is truly one of the highlights of a cruise to me.  
 I would suggest getting to the port as early as possible.  We usually arrive 1030-1100am to check in.  You will want as much time as possible to explore the ship as it is large and will take some time to get to know it.  We have been on enough cruises and done about all the excursions so we like to just walk around and shop.  You will get a news letter type paper delivered to your room every evening that tells you the next days activities.  It will tell you what time to be back to the ship to board on port days.  DO NOT be late.   The ship will leave without you unless you are on a RC excursion.
If you like the shows you need to get reservations ASAP.  The cruise planner section on the RC web page under My Cruises will tell you what shows require reservations.  You will want to plan those show times around your dining times. 
If the only thing your drink is an occasional glass of wine the alcohol drink package would not be for you.  If you like special coffee or like soft drinks you might want to look  at the other  drink packages but you would still need to drink a fair amount of soft drinks to make it worth it.
We prefer the main dining room for eating.  My wife likes Italian food so we usually eat at Giovannis one time a cruise.
Since we live in Florida laying out on the beach is not for us.  Some of the other nice cruisers on here can tell you good beaches to go to

Well after doing much research, I ended up not on RCCL, but on Celebrity from Miami.  I had to weigh everything and right now Celebrity is offer a deal of the century, booked a Sky Suite, got FREE PREMIUM DRINK PACKAGE FOR 2, FREE INTERNET FOR 2, PREPAID GRATUTIES and $300 OBC all for the same price I'm paying for Grand Suite on a 5 day Bermuda Cruise.  It made no sense.  I'm sure for latter part of 2019 back to RCCL and in between as I love them, but couldn't pass this up!

Voyager class might be a good next step from Grandeur.

None of the Quantum class ships, (Quantum, Anthem, Ovation, soon-to-be Spectrum) are sailing out of Florida. That's why I went straight to Oasis class.

here in Canada at Costo, Xmas decorations/trees/wrap etc out in August....snow suits out in July....its crazy..

If you're thinking that Oasis class ships are crowded, they are not.  At least not any more crowded than any other ships.
Oasis class has been designed with the best passenger flow that I've ever seen on any ship anywhere.  You would never know there are 6k+ passengers on the ship.

The next roll out will include May 2019 - April 2020 just like the last roll out included May 2018 - April 2019.  It may sound like a weird place to cut the year, but the April/May timeframe is when the repositioning cruises for the upcoming summer occur.
